Fabia vRS Seats - Keeping them clean

Featured Replies

One of my biggest worries about getting a vRS is that the seats are white and are going to be difficult to keep clean. Are they that hard to keep clean? If not what upholstery shampoos are good?

Yes they are hard to keep clean and welcome to the forum

Best way of keeping them clean is not to use the car. If you have to use it then ban all children, old people and pregnant women (Or women who tend to do their makeup in the car) Other than that it's either a seat cover or regular cleaning with somthing like Autoglym Interior Shampoo which is good stuff.

Some form of scotchguard or scotchbrite teflon based sealant protector is a good start. I had mine superguarded and even blood came off when I had a slight accident when fitting my stereo.

Seconded - I bought CarPlan Nanomeric Fabric Seal and Protect (£9.99 from Halfords last year), enough to do the whole lot twice over and then some.

i work on a really muddy/dusty construction site and i found that the best way to keep the seats clean is seat covers. a company called town and country do front and back seat covers that fit well. i got black for the back and grey for the front. They are good quality heavy duty material, they are about £20 per cover. i bought the halfrauds seat covers and they are rubbish and dont stay on.

On a seperate note thanks to everyone for all the info thats posted on the forums i love the search tool.

I recently gave mine a clean using one of those bars of vanish soap, a couple of sponges and clean water. I had quite a few coffee stains on them and just wetting with clean water using a sponge then rubbing vanish into the stain, followed by rinsing and rubbing with a cloth and clean water does the trick. The wet patches stand out after cleaning but once dry they are gone and so are the marks! :)

Probably best done in warm dry weather so you can leave the window open to aid drying though.

Yeah I was thinking of using Supagard on the seats. Any idea how much this will cost to do and how does it work?

the best stuff is shout stain cleaner cost £1.50 from tesco and its awsome

Tesco APC and a brush.

I use autoglym interior shampoo and a kitchen cloth (one of the blue ones). Spray and wipe, clean immediately. For stubborn stains, just rub a bit more vigorously.
