Colour choice

Featured Replies

Right there are 4 colours for a standard Fabia vRS: red, yellow, black and silver and I am not sure what colour to get. Do red and yellow still fade these days?

I have read a few threads on here which suggest that the yellow still fades especially on the plastics. So on that basis I rule out yellow and because I'm not keen on yellow. Silver is all too common now but is easy to keep clean. Black looks stunning when clean but hard to keep it that way and I do like it in red but as with yellow does it fade? I did ask the dealer in LHT Skoda in Swansea if this was the case and he said the red doesn't fade like it used to. I just wanted confirmation of you guys on here if this was the case. Also I don't see many red vRS's by me, mostly silver and one or two yellow ones. Would be nice to be different

Red paint is fine these days, if looked after, IME.

they do a much better colour than you have suggested.........Race blue:thumbup:

Much better than councill estate red,and more exclusive too(they only made 1000):rofl:

Yeah I prefer that too but for some reason can't get an insurance quote on one :confused:

Gonna ring my current insurer to see if they will or not instead of using their site.

that seems strange,lol

Yeah tell me about it. I'm thinking of getting one in August and by that time all the following will apply:

19 Yrs Old, 2 Yrs NCB, No claims or convictions, driving since 17

Standard vRS with SwiftCover.com (Only insurer online that will give me an actual quote - currently with Directline) £790, which I don't think is too bad considering I live in an area of Swansea which has a high crime rate. Then when I enter the SE it kicks me out saying i'm not old enough to insure the car. Tell me if I'm going wrong somewhere but since when does blue paint and leather seats add performance?

Insurance is an outrage, they just charge what you want. As for colour I have a Silver one, it was all I could get and I must admit it is abit bland. But its dead easy to keep clean and I am currently having abit of spray work done to it because it was keyed - I have however been informed Silver is really easy to blend, so I guess its good on those accounts also.

Yeah my dad has a silver Octavia. He's NEVER washed it. I only do it if I can be bothered and it still always looks "clean". The only disadvantage to silver is that there are loads of silver cars about these days.

Black is a p1ss take to keep clean but when clean its the nicest colour IMO,

Remember there's 2 different shades of yellow on the Furby,

Lemon 53-55/06, Sprint 06,56 & 07plates

I agree. How much time do you have on your weekends to set aside for rinsing, washing (2 bucket method) and waxing? :tired:

SE Blue if you can get it, but black is still well worth it imho.

It would be nice to have some links of you cars, just for me to see what the fabia is like in all it colours.

If you click on people's profiles, then check out threads they have started and usually you'll find one featuring their car. To get you started though, here are a couple shots I took after an aforementioned clean.

Nowt wrong with Silver. When I was first looking into buying a vRS, I actually copied each of the four colours into a photo which I put up onto my desktop so I could stare at it and help me decide. I thought I wanted black, but the one I was going to go for went, so in the end I decided I should get the Silver one I took for a test drive, which won me over in the first place. We had an immediate "connection", and I've never regretted my decision to choose her.

Some may think Silver is "common" or "boring", but in my opinion it suits the vRS, looks better with a greater number of non-factory alloy options than many of the other colours, and because the seats are light grey/black, also matches the interior best. Silver rocks! The best colour! ;)

Silver might be common, but a set of black wheels and a few nice mods will set it off a treat.

Don't start me on insurance tho!!!

when I got mine, four of us stood and looked at 2 red, 2 silver, a black magic and a sprint yellow and we unanimously agreed the yellow was by far the best looking.

silver = boring

black = shows every mark

red = fades and goes 'pinky'

yellow = something different, individual if you will. looks clean even when filthy and hides little marks easily.

I love mine.:rolleyes:

But an SE would be a wee bit better I think......................
