I got my yellow Fabia vRS back in January as my New Year's present.

Looked OK, that is until a few days later when the sun came out, I looked down on it from a 4th floor window and noticed that the back of the car was a completely different colour to the front  !!! The previous owner has obviously never heard of car polish and let the colour just fade in the sun....How can people let this happen???:mad:

Realising that no amount of work I could do would improve matters, she went in to MGS Motorsport on Saturday for a good few hours of polishing, claying and waxing, and came back out looking like a completely new car.

Side-on picture: before (showing 'sandpaper' effect 2-tone paint and 'cheese-grater' effect front wheel):

And an artistically-enhanced picture for good measure:

(Sorry, couldn't get these pics to show up in this window ?!)

Many thankyous to MikeSM56 for all the work you put in - she will be staying this shiny; in fact I cleaned her up again about an hour ago!!

Next job is to get the wheels / calipers cleaned and the dents / stone chips repaired, and then I can start thinking about the intersting stuff.

Thanks for looking

Kay.

Looking good Kay, the car did look top notch at the mega meet, and Mike and the boys at MGS I do recommend, great bunch of guys.

Many thankyous to MikeSM56 for all the work you put in -

Kay.

It was my pleasure.

Glad you're happy with the results.

She's looking really good now:thumbup:

Did you really like the caramel shortcake or were you just humouring me;)

It really was very good: my only criticism is that the portions were a bit too small :)

That can be easily remedied, I'll make up more for the urban meet, Expect a large portion:rolleyes::D:thumbup:

Nice car!!!! (I have to admit I'm a bit blind and cant see the 2 tones)

Liking mikes avatar though. :D

Yeah the pictures don't show it to best effect really - it's mostly on the rear spoiler / tailgate that you could tell how faded it was.

Looked nice at the meet on sunday.

Top work.

Machine polish for mine soon to get rid of all these wee marks.

Thanks for the comments folks :)

Have made a small change to its appearance since these pics (cutting down on advertising, let's say) and now I'm open to suggestions as to where to take it next.

Cheers

Kay.

open to suggestions!!!

LEON SPLITTER!!

Black wheels

Davy

:rofl::rofl:

Kay,

First time i've seen the car.

Looking good love. :)

Leon splitter a must !

I don't think she's going to be splitter-less for much longer :)

As for the wheels: I'm needing to replace my nicely mangled front nearside one before I do anything there. I've been experimenting on photos recently (you may have noticed) and 'something' is being considered.

Fixing the front plate on again tonight - those 'strong adhesive pads that work on curved surfaces' don't so it's having to be drilled :(

Cheers!

Kay.

Aye these pads are not great Kay, I had a whole lot of bother with them on one of my last cars.

Good to hear about the splitter

Hmm..what colour wheels you fancy ?

Bronze ? ;)

  • Author

:) I haven't tried out the bronze with yellow yet!!

I was actually wondering about the green option - I've got plenty of Hammerite.

Mad woman.

Green will certainly be different :D
