Bio Fuel Added To Fuel From Tomorrow

Featured Replies

Are there any car engines out there that state Biofuel must not be used? What about my V6 TDi. I;ve no idea if it works with the stuff

[trusting naivety] Surely the Government / fuel companies have carried out exhaustive research to make sure all engines can run on modified fuel before they replace all the stock with added biofuel [/trusting naivety]

Otherwise they're going to be in for a massive claims payout from all the *Daihatsu* owners who've found their engines bu66ered up because of it.

I thought that PD engines couldn't use BioDiesel?
Yes they can - check your Owner's Manual for details and standards.
Fair enough - I was going by the sticker inside the fuel filler flap (which has the word "BioDiesel" crossed out in red).

Europe has been using 5% bio derv for years

You can get a conversion kit that will allow you to run your VRS on new straight veggieoil see

ELSBETT-OnlineShop

click on Cars then search for your skoda

veggie oil is 0.55p/ltr at costco cheep fuel

not sure if I will go down this route untill my warrenty is out tho :D

and I agree with above 25-30% bio is ok in most diesels

It costs nearly a grand though and takes at least a day for a garage to fit (another £500, say), so even with veggie oil being so cheap, it's going to be a year or two before break-even - by which time the tax-free allowance on biofuel will no doubt have been reduced anyway

Shame, really... :(

it would be a year for me as I use about £1500 -£2000 in diesel a year the joys of lots of driving:D
