Thanks, sometimes I really miss it but I'm finding I'm a much more relaxed driver in the S8 and that's got to be a good thing.

Aren't they the same ones also used on some A5s? I'm sure the guy at work who's just got a 2.7TDi with a 19" upgrade has the same ones....

I know what you mean and that's exactly what I was looking to achieve, they also allow a much better view of the 2 piece 365mm discs and 8 pot calipers.

They may well be available on the A5 too. I've seen similar wheels on the A5 but never those but I'm sure they would suit it and the styles are often used across different models.

Just as an update I've now replaced the S8 with an A6 Avant 2.7TDI and the S8 has gone to a breakers.

Yes it is, and I'm really happy with it. Only mods so far are the 5 spoke wheels that I kept from the S8. There are more mods in the pipeline though!

I kept finding more and more problems and spending more and more money and although it was working fine when I got rid (after spending a big chunk of money), I decided enough was enough. It went to a breakers as it was easier than selling that type of car in the current climate and looking at what they were going for I wouldn't have got anymore for it. I did contemplate splitting it myself but I just don't have the space or time to do something like that.

Fair enough Eddy - yeah, can totally understand you doing that. A real shame it comes down to that, but at the moment nothing seems to be shifting...

Make sure you get some nice Avant shots anyway, and start a new Members' Car thread to keep us all up-to-date with developments
