New Octavia pricing

Featured Replies

Surprised that no-one has mentioned it before, has anyone noticed the price escalation of the new Tavia?, the entry level model may be comparable but the 1.6FSI Ambient is @

Yes noticed this as well. Dads looking at the 2.0 TDI elegance which is 17.5K.

It kinda makes the Superb look good value at 18.5K for the 1.9 TDi 130 Elegance.

I was thinking about waiting for the new Octavia Estate, but at those prices, they can forget it.

I've ordered a Superb Elegance with full leather and metallic paint, and it's only costing just under 19K (got a good discount through my company).

Bagpuss.

Think that was a auto as well.

16400 OTR for the manual compared to 15400 for the current PD130 Elegance.

1k extra isn't *too* bad an increase considering the higher spec on the new model plus the extra rear leg room and boot space.

My dads not bothered about the price. His laguna he's got now is a 1.8 and thats costs 17.5K new. We both think the new Octavia is a very nice car and nicer than the Laguna. And probably be alot nicer to drive as well.

Looking pricey! Unless the next-gen vRS is competetively priced and seriously well equipped, I'll be looking elsewhere.

Does make the Superb look very good value indeed. With these newer prices, I hope they are going to increase Superb production as they could be very popular soon

One of my colleagues has an A3 2.0TDI, it's only 140 BHP, restricted to the new european emissions, it is not as quick, or as economical as the current 130 ??

The Dutch prices have been announced:

1.4 Classic (75 hp):

maybe VW feel Skoda is getting too big for it boots and is eating into their passat sales...

Skoda prices have been creeping up. They are stil cheaper than other VAg brands but are no longer cheaper than many other makes. I still think they are good value. The new Octy is a very classy car, for a standard car price. Still I think Skoda should re-introduce a basic budget car into their range, perhaps a reborn Felicia or even a rebadged early mark VW Golf, such as that sold in Africa (a re-named MK 1 Golf).

Wait a few months till the discount boys get hold of them, that should sort the pricing

skoda have stated they want to make big increases in their fleet sales - I think they will have to be very careful with the pricing to do that.

Now the low list price makes them very good on costs and company car tax.

If the list price is hiked much that will have a huge effect - no matter how big the discount is ,the tax is calculated on the list price so will put off a lot of existing or potential skoda company drivers(including me!)

This was a big problems with MG ZTT'S when I was looking, they were giving HUGE discounts (for a very good reason!!) that made the cars look very tempting but because of the tax calculations they were

Still I suppose if they hike the price of the new ones it should keep depreciation on the current model more than acceptable

It's a bit of a cheek considering the Mk V golf is cheaper (IIRC) than the Mk IV

You can't really compare the 1.6FSI to the current 1.6 petrol models, it's a completely different (and much better) engine

But that's what you'd expect from a new car...

took my vRS in for a service today...and they had 2 new Octavia II's in

a silver one in the showroom, and a dark blue one that one of the sales guys is driving

had a good mooch round both of them and they looked very nice...if they can transfer the quality of the new dashboard and centre console to the new vRS I will be very happy...the steering wheel was nasty though

good quality seat fabrics as well

they look smart in the 'flesh' with a smaller rear overhang than the current model

rear legroom felt good as well
