will there ever be a new fabia vrs

Featured Replies

Does anyone know if skoda will release a new VRS. Been told by a salesman at my local dealers that the new fabia chassis can't handle the power. It's a shame if they can't sort it out.

Thats a new one about the chasis !!! Can't say I am suprised though! One dealer told me that the delay was due to the 2.0TDi engine being too big to fit the car!!!! Pretty fookin stupid if you ask me if they didn't think about these things before building the bloody thing!!!!

Many people in the motoring press believe the vRS will be released late this year, or early next - can't say I share their optimisim though!!!

The New Fabia has more or less the same chassis as the old one, so I don't see how that can be, and that under the guise of the Seat Ibiza Cupra had 180bhp. So I don't see where that came from as the Fabia Vrs would probably have less than 180 bhp.

I thought the same thing, fancy not thinking about the power in the chassis when designing the car, I need to get rid of my vrs by the end of the year. If there isn't a replacement i don't know what i'm going to buy, there's nothing else out there quite like a vrs.Don't what to buy some french or italian junk, might have to get a leon cupra.

Waiting on the 1.6 C-TDI 130 per chance?

Or waiting for another blue moon?

Lets just sit back and wait shall we?

Im not that bothered to be honest, there is plenty of fun to be had with the sport...

Well if SUK cant extract a digit from the place where the sun dont shine and make a decision on release of a Fabia vRS, there is no hope of the Joyster making it either.

Last rumour was that the new common rail engine didnt fit the engine bay :(

Another £10 rumour for the money bucket :D

I need to get rid of my vrs by the end of the year. .

 if there's nothing else out there like it, why get rid of it ?

Chassis can't handle the power???

What about the s2000 skoda are testing??

Davy

Joyster was shelved a longgggggggggg time ago mate.

The s2000 is slightly different to be honest, so is modified within the regulations to take the bigger/more powerful lump.

Give it time, it will come....

I would say 2010 before we see the new vrs.

I use it to teach people to drive, warranty runs out at the end of the year. Need to get rid of it before it starts costing me the earth to keep it on the road, bloody thing is always at the dealers having something replaced.

So far I've had,

2 roll bar links

1 seat cover - ripped

1 glove box

new aerial

new steering rack

gearbox mount

4 new lower intercooler pipes - still bloody leaking.

Been in garage at least 5 times sorting those bloody rattles.

not bad for 34.000 miles covered in 13 months.

great engine. fragile car.

How did you know the intercooler pipes were leaking.

Yeh my VRS will be three in Nov and would really love to get the next generation VRS. i was hoping it will have the 1.4 TSI 170 engine. Maybe wishful thinking

i could see oil wheeping from a joint.

I would love to get a new vrs when it comes out but by the time I replace it, I could be looking at something a bit more practical.

Is the new fabia smaller than the mark 1??

Davy

When i had one the other day as a pool car it seemed higher to sit in but i would of said from a rough guess there wasnt much in it size wise

could get golf clubs and kit in both boots

Matt

What about buggy:rofl::rofl:

Being serious from some angles the car looks a bit smaller compared to the standard Fabia maybe looking from the front it looks small as well.

Davy

according to a recent powow that my manager went to, i sneaked a look at his notes and he had written down that there will be a vRS fabia before the end of 2009

plus the yeti is also coming

and the scout fabia estate before the end of the year too!

A Sales person I spoke to at Skoda over at Liverpool said its possible that the engine will be the 1.4 supercharged TSI but yea they were having difficulty fitting the engine into the car.

Considering how tight the 1.9PD was in the Mk1 Fabia I'm not surprised they'd struggle ;)

Not gonna worry about it much though :D

Launch of Fabia vRS is scheduled for 2010, along with Fabia and Roomster facelift.

*******s:P

arrgh missed ll the other posts!! lol.

Move along. Nothing to see here....;)

Been there done that.^^

Id be careful what you post on here by the way....

Too right, pull your head in, cheq'd flag. If the brand knew BDG minutes / Desktop were being mentioned here, you could be in deep....

Here is the definitive answer from someone who actually knows. Fabia vRS will officially begin production in Sept 2010 when the Fabia is facelifted, despite what WhatCar magazine or anyone else says.

This was apparently due to difficulties mating engines and chassis and also due to the fact that R&D budget isnt available for RHD models to overcome the problem, because....vRS sells in the UK in far greater volume than in Europe and therefore is not economically viable.

If you want a new Fabia 1.9 TDI with 135bhp, lowered with a decent set of alloys and few other toys, I know a dealer doing their own variant. Warranty is still an issue though. PM me for details.
