!!! Cars pulling !!!

Featured Replies

Right any1 had this or is it the same wit Oty. My vRS likes to drift along the road but just the front, like when it's windy on the motorway(it's grand over 80). Then when i give stick on a bumpee back road it drifts (not tram lining), and sometimes when i put the power on, on bumpee road like pulling out of a bend i get a loud bang from the front suspension. My cars only 8 weeks old wit 5K on it now. Any idea's.

Thanks KEL

Thanks KEL[/quote']Mine does the "loud bang" bit if I'm really abusive with the throttle either pulling away from a standstill or exiting a tight bend on a bumpy road.

I put it down to what I believe used to be called "tramp", when the suspension unloads itself dramatically and causes the wheel to bounce up and down.

Sounds nasty, but it only happens if it's provoked, I've found.

Is that the noise were it sounds like someone has tw*ted your hub with a sledge hammer?

that'll be the one :P

Same thing happened to me In my ex Fabia 64hp 8v, I did a very agressive wheelspin at a roundabout whilst the wheels were turning at the same time, I thought it was the towbar or something.

my "axle-tramp" explanation isn't entirely accurate, before someone points it out, because I think that only affected cars with live rear axles, when the leaf-springs would wind up and then unwind, but it's the same idea.

The wheel 'hops' on the road, hence the banging and the traction control cutting in to stop it.

I think. But I'm sure I'll be corrected.

Get the front subframe nuts checked, these have been known to work loose.

Thanks lads, i'l check them but it's been like this from new! i'm going to stick on a set of KW coilovers MK3 ones. Any1 no if that will sort it out.

And anotherthing is my Zenon head lights, when driving a long bumpee road they look like there about to fall out is the norm 2?

KEL

this wouldn't be the lights adjusting their height to the cars attitude, would it?

My Laguna used to do that. Odd 'til you get used to it, specially on speed-humps :D

The Powerflex dog bone mount kit does a fair bit to eliminate wheel hop.

But if its clonking id get it checked out.

all my previous "little" light cars did this, just the bloody thing bouncing, nowt loose except the car to road link

If your giving it some on bumpy roads from a standing start traction control kicks in then the diff goes BANG!!!!!!! Solution turn ASR off :D

My little Saxo used to do it. The solution is to buy a 4x4 :)
