Big thanks to VRStu for my OEM Bluetooth kit which is all in and working. I don't have maxidot or steering wheel controls but for straight forward speaking and hearing through the Stream radio it works a treat. :)

However, I've coded it all up tonight through VAGCOM and was hoping the right had stalk buttons may come into use but they just operate the normal trip computer functions.

Do you think there is a code somewhere to activate this or is it simply a case of a Maxidot retrofit needed?

The reason being is that without Maxidot you can't see to select the phone sub menu and thus then scroll the phone book.

If you had a MFSW you could use voice instead.

I thought it was a little ambitious! It works fine as intended but as always you end up wanting more :D

i had a sit in an RS4 at the week end with the half ally flat bottomed stearing wheel. Do you think that would fit?

If you can get one I would think so. Not entirely sure on how things would work out with the controls as IIRC it has quite a few. Be interesting to try though.

Hello all.

Just wondering how the BT works without the maxidot and steering wheel controls? I'm currently Driving a Seat Altea with the optional BT kit, it seems a bit strange not to have the display etc.

Cheers

Rich

Calls would have to be initiated from the handset so really you are just getting Audio and Speach from the installed kit. You would be able to accept/reject calls with the righthand stalk.

Thanks Stu,

These things are useful to know if i decide to go for a VRS. The BT kit is something I'd miss.

Ive just had my VRStu kit installed and all is working well. All but my phone, it works fine with every phonein my family apart from mine!

I have a Samsung i600 that runs WM5, it links up to make and recieve calls but not the address book, even when i put the contacts onto the SIM card :(

I use an HTC which has WM6 and works ok. Have a look in the compatibilty section as I think fluffmeister may know a little about WM5

That bit was what i was originally referring to but it doesn't? I've followed all the VAGCOM instructions but the stalk buttons won't do anything.

I've also got a HTC and my wifes Nokia N95 pairs up no problem:)

Nothing to change with VAG-COM in regards to the stalk. I you have an incoming call I would have thought you could press the button under the stalk to accept the call.

Another thanks to Stu for the bluetooth kit he installed for me yesterday! Absolutely fantastic! Coupled with the Columbus sat nav it's an absolute dream to use!!!!!
