Any cause for concern ?

£1.25 a litre could be the least of my worries if it's a faulty pump thingy..

Is that the PD unit ?

Been having a dig around...

Is it the fuel injection/tandem pump that seems to be leaking ?

One of the pipes coming out was swollen up too.

I'm kinda desperate if anyone can advise.

If it's a fuel leak, it's very serious. Not necessarily for you, but spilt diesel + water is like black ice only smellier!

I know, it's pretty wet round the area too, so i suspect it's losing a fair bit.

I'm not sure if the tandem pumps have a gasket on them that could fail, or if it's possiby a split pipe coming in/out of the unit.

There was a recall done on the tandem pump back in 2004.. which i had done on my car because it was weeping diesel. apparently there is a gasket kit available for the pump but most dealers just try to change the whole pump

DOh !

I had just PM'd you col ! :D

Answers my question. ;)

I'll try and see if i can get a gasket, and a replacement hose for the one thats swollen.

This is what Skoda UK said about it...as it's still the LUK pump thats on the car, and is leaking.

"I have spoken to our Technical Department and they have confirmed that there was a recall on the LUK fuel/ vacuum pump. All recalls are identified by the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN). I can confirm that your VIN was not listed for the recall and therefore, your vehicle was not affected by this recall"

:(

TBH the pump itself won't be too bad compared to the unit injectors. That plus the PD130 is common as muck and there are plenty of written off ones, I would be pretty confident you could find a second hand one for not much at all should the new cost be that bad.

If i pipe has swollen I can imagine it's damaged, so have you tried just changing that to see if the leak persists?

New cost is £260 + Vat

Been searching all my customers but none have one. :(

Time to start searching.

As you say, at least it's not the injectors. :)

£260+VAT + Fitting @retail or trade?

I'm amazed nobody has one, but as you say you're in a position to find out.

Thats retail. Still to get a trade price on one.

Doesn't include fitting...but thats sorted when the time comes anyway.

I bet if i bought a PD130 head...it would come with the pump attached :D

TBH from that being retail I'd expect at least 25% off trade, so the used one becomes less worthwhile, especially with the number that could have water damage.

Fitted for under £250 notes, there isn't much point going for the used route is there?

No, not really cost effective if i'm planning on running the car for a lot of miles, and i do a lot of them so would like it in A1 condition. :)
