The good news is that having taken off the bars having had them on for a while now is that there':thumbup:s absolutely no bodywork damage or scratching. When they were on there was no creaking as reported elsewhere. The alarm problem stopped once the heavy rain of a couple of weeks ago got a bit lighter.

They came off as easily as they went on and I found them really good.

The holes look perfect and no paint missing at all, which is good

What is going on here - bars that are a sod to fit and water leaks!! This is a roof rack for cryin out loud!!

My Punto has bars that are so obviously an afterthought but the design means nothing has the remotest change of leaking and as for flaking paint? I've not even picked my VRS up from the dealers and already I'm worried as I need to have a rack on and off at least twice a month and to know I may get leaking into the vehicle is not filling me with confidence!

Come on Skoda - this is basic engineering - sort it out!!!!

Probably gave it to the apprentice as a project; "there you go young Kazimir, you are to design the roof fixings on our new car. do this well and you will pass your internship"

Needless to say Kazimir is now shovelling uranium in a mine in Moravia............ :-)
