Logmein (Log Me In)

Featured Replies

Just wanted to recommend this to all you fellow Briskodians! It's a remote access solution whereby you can connect to one internet enabled PC from another one anywhere in the world. Unlike other offerings (like Go to my PC) there's a free version available. :D Started using it earlier this week and it's really good, providing you have broadband that is! :)http://www.logmein.com PS This isn't an advert, just something that I've come across and found very useful.

Like what TightVNC has been doing for years then?

Yep! Just that when I was looking for the solution I required, LogMeIn popped up as one of the most simple ones for the non-computer geeks in my household!! :D The plus points over TightVNC are it's Vista compatible, and all traffic is secured (as well as it can be over the net!).

Not exactly, the VNC products I have used normally require ports to be forwarded on the router to the PC you want to control. logmein allows you to remotely control a PC within another network without having to monkey about with the router.

It all works I believe over port 80, how secure it is I don't know but it seems quite well thought of.

I've been using logmein for about 18 months now, and would not be without it. So far it's been secure and reliable and the performance is fairly good, get's a  from me

try logmein rescue, awesome product.

Been using logmein for a few months now and I agree it's great, even works on OSX :D

it is good. my boys make a lot of use of it - the ability to have 10+ sessions comes in handy on a support desk.

You have to pay for that one though! :D

i use an account from work, but it truely is the most awesome piece of software for helping retards out who can't do anything for themselves on the other end of a phone line.

Logmein is nothing like tightvnc. For logmein, your connection access control is far more secure than anything vnc can offer.

I have been using logmein for quiet sometime and it works really well.

This is awesome, I can use my tower anywhere via my eeepc!

I had trouble setting up Norton 360, and the help-line used "log-me-in" to check out my system. Also have use MSN to allow a friend access to my PC few yrs back

Firm I worked for had outsourced IT that used it.

We even got the gullible school leaver bird to believe we could all control our PC's using mind control, rather than the support folk using the mic to hear what she asked us to open.

Even had wobble on the mouse moves
