christ lads give this one a wide birth, had nowt but issues since putting this little gem on :(

maps refused to accept that i had paid £50 for voice guidance for the first week :thumbdwn:

nokia's own software refuses to load or work(things like conversation etc) :thumbdwn:

as of tonight i am unable to access my contacts directly  i can use them to send a text as that can access my contacts and my call log etc can see my contacts but i cannot actually view my contacts :(

right, a minor update to my issues :D

after much googling i followed some advice and removed the programs "conversation" and "nokia internet services support package" and my contacts are available to me again so maybe its just a conflict between the new firmware and these programs but atleast i have my contacts back :D

Take a hammer to the peice of carp and get yourself another phone.

I got rid of that 'conversation' app a while back, it's a royal pain in the ***.

Orange only offer v13 :x

Sadly I have Orange care which prevents me debranding, as I read their terms

Stu i love the phone but its just a few issues with the latest firmware, was working perfectly before it :o

i've played with andrews iPhone a bit now and think the web browser and general user interface is very nice to use but i don't think i could live with one myself, there's a few reasons:

- bluetooth, this is only usable for headsets and nothing else. idiots.

- 3G, it doesn't have it (yet) and i use mobile tinterweb and have got used to 3G speeds.

- camera, i use my phone as my camera on holidays now as its better than my old 2MP camera so don't see the point in buying a camera so i can lose/forget it and don't think i would want to take a step back in quality.

- picture messages, why on earth doesn't it do them!?!?!

but in other ways its lovely, looks ace, lovely to navigate, safari is good to use and feels nice, the fact that its a full on iPod is brilliant too but sadly i couldn't live with the downsides. :)

I totally agree with you Bengie. The Iphone is really, really good at what it does do... but it misses some basic functionality that *all* other phones have.. like ringing profiles, MMS support and bluetooth. I can tell it will be a big hit in the enterprise space when they release the firmware with Activesync embedded as its infinately better than a windows mobile phone.

I have had reports that it works perfectly with the Skoda Bluetooth Kit, Fluff uses it with his IIRC.

I wasn't suggesting you buy an iPhone though, I just couldn't get on with the N95 myself and can't really understand the hype.
