These are the 2 codes which are causing the engine light & what you should concentrate on: P06DA00 Engine Oil Pressure Control Circuit/Open static P064C00 Glow Plug Control Module static Checking the battery is cheap and simple but usually you have lots of other warnings & messages on the display with a bad battery (ACC, park assist, Tyre monitor, etc not available after starting). Next I'd check the fuses for both modules (or perhaps they have a shared fuse) to make sure it's not just one of them blown. Otherwise I'd suspect something electrical as they are not really related. When you charge the car at home, do you connect the ground off the charger to the charging point behind the battery (not into the terminal of the battery) ? Gabbo

If you cant figure out how to use OBD11, you can download Car scanner or OBDTorqueLite. They are not as nice looking or user friendly but they can diffinately read the DTCs in each is the modules

If you have OBD11 you need to figure out how to use it and read the DTCs... It says there are 6 control modules with faults which means there are at least 6 Pcodes available. It's pointless guessing what the fault might by based on an icon in an app. The engine light can be related to lots of different faults from sensors to actuators, battery to communication. Gabbo

This thread has contains a nice guide from one user for how to do it and where you can download the FW files from... From memory there was another dedicated thread to this update but I can't seem to find it. The most important is to know the firmware you have and how many steps you need to get to the latest one. You also need a tool like OB11 or VCDS which can send the confirmation code after the firmware update... If I understand correctly, this last part is not mandatory but it will remove a permanent fault from the infotainment unit about the update.

My colleague had the update done at the dealers but his car is still under warrenty. As this is clearly a SW bug perhaps they would at least start the update for older cars?? Gabbo

There was a page somewhere on the forum where you could download the flash files for the infotainment (3rd party so comes with some risk) and instructions for how to do it. Does anyone know if this can be used for the Superb infotainment too?

If you can get the daily updates for the applications then I don't see why you wouldn't get the OTA infotainment update too.... It was released quite a long time ago so I assume that the roll out is slow. I'm not sure if there's a way to force it...

Yes the OTA update 0334 for the infotainment seems to fix the issue... If you have the "connect services" subscription then you should receive it automatically. If not, you can ask the dealer to do it, because of the daily updates they may accept as it's really a "Bugfix". Otherwise there is a manual way to update the firmware cus USB I think. I've changed 2 glow plugs on my Octavia 2L TDi in the last year. I have a bike torque wrench which goes up to 20Nm. The maximum removal torque is around 25Nm/30Nm depending on the manufacturer. Tightening torque was 12-15Nm which is basically nothing. Both glow plugs came out easily with just a little bit over 20Nm. I sprayed them with WD-40 the night before, drove it during the day and the replaced the glow plug a few hours after I came home. The electrical connector is easy to remove if you have the access to grip the plastic body lightly and pull up. In the Octavia forum there was a very helpful technician who said that, most problems removing the plugs occur when they have been changed by someone before who has overtightened them. From the factory they usually come out easily. He recommended not to overtighten when you refit them. There are some videos on YouTube that even say to only hand tighten them. I chose to tighten to the minimum and haven't had problems since. I used ceramic grease on mine, but I was surprised that, apart from the heating tip, the rest of the glow plug was pretty clean for 225k km and 12 years use. My advise, is don't worry too much, be gentle and slow applying pressure & if in doubt, stop. Spray some more and try again, leaving it to the next day if necessary. Gabbo

My colleague was asked to bring his car in to have the update after he complained about the daily shop updates. If your car is still in warranty this seems like the quickest solution... Is the 323 update available for download and manual installation somewhere? Gabbo

On mine, after the update, the shop application is in a different tile position: top-row far right. Previously it was bottom row far right... After a week, I have had no further updates so it seems 0334 was the enabler to solving the issue for me. Gabbo

Do you have any notifications (number in a circle) in the to right of the infotainment? After the big 0334 update, I had 7 unique updates for different features including the shop application

There are some pictures on the Octavia MK3 forum from when I changed my left rear abs sensor. It's an easy enough job just a bit fiddly to remove the sensor and electrical connector. In the thread I also show how to diagnose a faulty sensor using Car scanner or equivalent OBD dongle to monitor the individual wheel speed sensors...
