  1. Thanks good to know... I will email the service manager at my local garage and see if he gives the same feedback but I guess it's the mostly likely answer.... Agreed, it's starting to get a little annoying now... Gabbo
  2. I have had the same problem for the last 4-5 weeks. Every morning after driving the car & coming to the first set of tafffic lights, I am promoted to "update applications". It doesn't specify which applications but after 20 minutes I have a notification that. Registration is updated User manual is updated Application is updated Some applications won't be available until the vehicle is restarted... Originally I thought it was just multiple updates 1 after the other that have been released by Skoda. However after it didn't stop, I have been checking the versions of all of the applications & the shop application id always on the same version afterwards. I'm fairly sure the installation is failing each time. Did anyone resolve it? I'm sure a service around November so will ask them to fix it then but would be great if I could fix it myself before.
  3. I had a similar question after having the windscreen replaced this spring. I guess I can wait until November when it gets colder again. How can I test the screen heating is working & would there be a DTC in the climate module if the heating wasn't working?
  4. Any feeling on whether it's necessary to replace both bulbs at the same time? I've seen it's recommended to replace them both together but was planning on just changing the broken one?
  5. Can I replace the Xenon bulb with any equivelant D3S xenon bulb (will the twist fitting fit)? I have seen the Osran Xenarc Classic D3S is around €35 but the "like for like" replacement from Philips is €120.... Gabbo
  6. My Octavia needed regassing after 11 years a because the cooling was reduced. At my 2 year service, my garage was extremely insistent that I paid €300 for a premium AC service... I declined & I'll wait until I can feel the cooling striking in hot weather
  7. It's difficult to diagnose without reading the fault codes. My Octavia had the same message in the display caused by a faulty ABS sensor.
  8. I finally figured out why my settings were lost after each update... After the OCU update you are logged out of your account.... You need to goto Users->Log Me In and re-enter your details to get your settings back.... Can believe it's taken me such a log time to realise this. Gabbo
  9. I didn't do it when I changed my battery and there were no problems. I just opened the bonnet, turned off the ignition and waited a bit of time until all the noises stopped from the engine bay. No settings were lost and everything worked fine on the next start without doing anything to the car.
  10. This was exactly the change I made on my Octavia 700Ah for 680Ah. I've not done it on the superb but the Octavia wasn't too difficult to get it in and out even though it's partially covered by the cowling around
  11. As long as you replace the battery with the same type (EFB for EFB or AGM for AGM) of similar size, coding is not really necessary. If you don't have the tools already it's not worth to buy them just to code the battery. I just swapped my Octavia battery with a new one. Stop start worked immediately & it's been fine for the last 4 years. Gabbo
  12. If you are on your second battery after 4 years there's really something wrong with your car, alternator or battery management module I would suggest.... Unless you are driving only a few miles a week the battery charge should be maintained automatically by the BMS while driving. Are you connecting a charger often and charging it manually ?
  13. Any photos you could upload to help others with a similar issue?
  14. This was the original thread I had when looking for winter wheels for my car....
  15. They are Borbet V Anthracite. I chose them from the Borbet website using the configurator. BorbetWheel configurator: Find your perfect BORBET wheelsFind the right wheels for your car in the BORBET 3D configurator Configure light alloy wheels directly with ABE, ECE or expert opinion and buy them from your BORBET dealer I was limited because I wanted the wheels with ECE certificate then it's easier for the Swiss MOT checks but you can choose ones with different ET in the UK so the choice is bigger
