Ok so after a LONG weekend sorting the 2 octavia 4x4's have almost got one back upto full heath and short of getting the rear bits finished ready to get a fresh geo
Car has adjustable coilovers and front camber / caster adjustment at top mount and rear adjustable bottom toe link kit - has the uprated 25mm front ARB and 22mm rear ARB
I dont have time to experiment myself and is only my daily so does not go on track and also tows the race car so not planning on anything to extreme
Anyone had or got settings from a setup? Or is it best to copy the R32/S3/TT sport type options listed?
Thanks in advance
Duncan

Have you got adjustable tie bars fitted ?
If not you'll need them: Adjustable Rear Tie Bar
The Forge one is the one you want.
Your geo settings will need to custom worked out for your car, don't copy setting from another car.

Yes has neuspeed rear adj toe link kit fitted - bottom
I know the VX220 stuff inside out and have access to full laser allignment kit (and the old trusty option) just not sure of recommended setups for the octavia 4x4
Was going to keep it simple for now and get it all straight and true and then adjust the camber / caster / toe in or toe out at front and the rear setting also.
Thanks again

Might be worth getting some help then with the initial setup, then you'll a base reference to work from, then tweek from there.
I was under the impression the neuspeed toe kit didn't really replace the need for the Forge tie bars, the purpose of which are twofold: maintaining correct camber on lowering; and increasing strength.

These are the ones fitted sir http://www.gmpperfor...tail&PID=237565
Are these not the same thing as the forge items?
Ok happy to tweak in the future and do need to adjust the trailing arm bush to match the new heigh of rear but a good starting line? Can pull oe cars out of the machines database - Mk4 R32 / S3 / TT / TT sport etc etc
Not sure how much the spec differs between the above - certainly having the car lined up true will be the best start but time is againt me for messing about hence just geting it near a normal / decent setup now
Thanks again for the help snow_muncher

Yep those are the right thing - you got me confused by talking about the toe kit - which I understood to be an adapter mount for one of the rear control arms.
The R32/S3/TT all have cast wishbones, which change camber/castor/toe settings.
You're running pressed wishbones with adjustable topmounts ?
(which ones by the way ?)
This is the estate too ?
I so, the next closest model to the Octavia 4x4 estate would be the Bora and Golf 1.8T 4motion estates.
They have 'standard' rideheight vs the Octy 4x4 raised rideheight
The R32/S3/TT all have cast wishbones, which change camber/castor/toe settings.

Yes pressed wishbones with poly bushes in
Fronts have adjustable top mount cup and yes estate
Ok will look at the settings of the bora / golf items and go with that, the suspension is not silly low but certainly a LOT more than oe and poss a touch lower than std golf / bora but its a start
thanks again for the pointers
