  • Brilliant news John, thanks for being so committed to the group buy!! Can't wait now!!!!!! Merry Christmas all

I'll take a pair if they're legal.

Erm yes please!!! Any idea on price and any info on what we will need to send in??

Quite interested, but I've got a question.

Will they require us all to send in copy's/originals of V5, proof of insurance etc?

If so it's going to turn into a bit of a logistical nightmare :-(

Yes you will have to send them in. I did a the last Dubmeister GB and they wanted to see docs, not copies.

Here is a link to the last Dubmeister GB http://www.briskoda....es-2854-posted/

This is what Dubmeister say about what docs they need to see...

We now have to see the original documents this is stated on the website. You do not have to send you v5c and driving licence there is a range of different documents we can accept, i have listed the details from the website below.

UK Legal Plates

The DVLA regulations state that we must see ORIGINAL Proof of Identity AND Proof of Entitlement for all Road Legal number plates. See below for the list of acceptable documents. These are regulations imposed by DVLA, and we strongly urge you to use an insured postal option when sending these to us. We will then return these documents with your order via recorded delivery. Please note we are unable to manufacture or despatch your legal plates without this important documentation.

Proof of Identity (one from the following)

Driving Licence - any Country

Bank/Building Society Statement

Electricity, Gas, Water Bill or Landline telephone, Council Tax bill

Passport - any Country

Credit/Debit card issued by a Bank or Building Society only

Police Warrant Card

Armed Forces Identity Card

National Identity Card

Proof of Entitlement (one from the following)

Registration Document (V5C) preferred

Tear off slip from V5C (V5C/2)

Authorisation Certificate (V948) - PLEASE NOTE : This Certificate is valid for six weeks from the date of issue, It is a temporary authorisation to purchase number plates. It enables the keeper to buy plates and use the vehicle in advance of receipt of the V5C/V5C(NI) which might take a couple of weeks to arrive. Please therefore ensure your Certificate is valid before forwarding to us.

Certificate of Entitlement to a Mark (V750)

Cherished Transfer Retention Document (V778)

Vehicle Licence Renewal (V11)

Temporary registration Certificate (V379)

Authorisation slip from DVLA Local Office with official DVLA stamp

Copy of the schedule of vehicles supplied by a hirer/leasing company under the hire contract agreement together with a letter of authority on company headed notepaper. This letter must quote the V5C document reference number.

If you send your V5C/2 and a utility bill you aren't really taking too much risk IMO!

Thanks Joe, that's waaaay to much chew for a set of plates.

I'll give this one a miss

Following on from Joe's post, where does that leave the project?

IIRC j0hn is on holiday currently so may not move forward until he's back in Blighty.

I'll be giving it miss too.. Bit of a mission! Thanks anyway

Aye captain, on the way home this afternoon although I have had a couple of opportunities to get online and have sent Dubmeister a couple of emails - no replies to either of them yet, but will post info as and when available. I have asked for pricing and also am awaiting info on what to do with docs. Sending off your docs does sound like a bit of effort when (whether strictly legal or not) some other companies will accept a copy or scan on email.

OK folks, I have a response from

Dubmeister - £5 discount off a set of plates for 10+ pairs, £10 discount off a set based on 20 pairs. That works out at £28 and £23 respectively which isn't a good enough offer IMO and they want the original docs. I have however been in contact with another supplier of UK legal pressed plates, who is willing to offer them for £20 per set based on 20 sets ordered and will accept a copy (or scan by email) of documents.

If there is still interest, please let me know either by PM or post here. Thanks to J5 for keeping on top of the list.

In these days of identity theft I would not be happy sending the documents they want, so if you don't mind I will withdraw.

I would like a set as well. Let me know what and when to do. Cheers.

Does the price include return postage?

Can you chuck me down for a set please!

That wasn't communicated but as the cheaper priced supplier accepts scanned docs, there won't be any need to have them returned. I have also seen an example of these plates and am happy to put them on my car. I will post the list shortly and start sending PMs.

Thanks John, still interested.

Any pics?

put me down for a set too, aslong as they are legal.

One more question, can they be provided without the side EU blue logo?

Could be interested in this if it's only photocopies. Question though, do the plates have the EU blue banding on them or are they 'clean' ?

Also, going on hols in about 2 weeks, for 3 weeks, so not sure how this'll work out with timescales and all that.

So yeah, Ill go down as maybe for now.

Do any of these companies do 11x8 legal plates? :)

I'll have a set of these ones as long as we can get them for the £20 and they are legal :)

Cheers

Any proof of legality? Are they fully marked with maker, postcode, and the marking BS AU 45 D?

Right guys, this is the list as it stands, I'm going to start sending PMs now just to get confirmations, as there are only 21 on the list if we have a couple drop out then we can't get a set for £20. These are NOT Dubmeister plates, but from another supplier who is selling road legal plates, with all required markings. Also I believe there is the option of the Blue Euro marker on the left hand side of the plate if required. Please feel free to ask any questions, I am awaiting an answer from the supplier on whether they want one big payment or will take separate payments from everybody.
