Finally decided on a new car. Apologies!

Featured Replies

Right, after viewing several cars I have finally decided on a non VAG car (I know, I'm sorry). It's a 2009 2.2 diesel Mazda 6 estate 60k with history. Before I go and sign n the dotted line and pay the money tomorrow, does anyone have an horror stories to tell me about them?

Cheers.

Mdon.

I read that last night which prompted me to post the above, after reading a few more it looks like a isolated problem as in only a few of them mention it. I'm going to ring the Mazda dealer where its had all its services done in a few minutes and heck to see if its had anything done with the chain as it is still worrying!

Anyone know of any other problems? All opinions negative and positive appreciated.

Mate has the old 2.0d engine that has a bit of an issue filling the oil up with diesel and DPF problems. But otherwise it's been a pretty solid car. It's survived him and he's not kind to his motors. I think he's on 120k or there abouts now.

I like the style of the new Mazdas a lot and I'd look at them when it's time to change.

My neighbour bought herself a new Mazda 6 on an 08 plate. They must have liked it because last year her husband bought one for himself.

Well the deposit has been paid, I collect it on Tuesday!

I've heard lots and lots of horror stories on the DPF on the Mazda 6.

As mentioned above I think this was related more to the 2.0 litre engine and not the 2.2...

Post some pics when you pick it up!

We had one several years ago. It was the 2.0 diesel and not the 2.2 like yours. It was the estate and a great looking car which drove well.

However, the fuel pump was on its way out and the car kept cutting out. Also, it rusted terribly around the rear wheel arches, which was a shame as we planned to keep it for some time.

Good luck with yours and I hope you're happy with it.

I have had no issues with my Mazda...not a 6.

In 12 months not a squeek or a rattle to complain of.

However the experiences with Mazda dealers....less than impressive. Even when you want to spend money with them !

If you can find a good Indy...that's where my custom would go.

Enjoy your new car.

I have a 3 which is now coming up two and a half years and 50k. Never missed a beat or required any work outside routine servicing.

Bought one of these 6 weeks ago. 18 months old with 11k on it. What spec did you get?

I keep looking at the Sports. Look pretty on the outside, eye bleedingly awful on the inside...

The TS2 just the 163bhp, would have loved a sport though!

The car is most at home on the motorway and having driven both I don't think the extra bhp is really needed for that environment. For me the extra toys were as much of an attraction of the sport as the extra bhp.
