Featured Replies

Anyone had any experience of removing this part to lube it as mine shows in fault on diag machine, so been advised to try this as its common??

Just try a flap recalibration. Noemaly just flaps need recal.

Yeah tried but to no avail, a guy I used to work with says try lubing it to see if it makes a difference just wondered does anyone have a "how to" on this?

Found a workshop manual online, all text in English but says left control motor on pedal side, I'm assuming its showing a LH drive car or are the motors on opposite sides??

Found it, removed for greasing and it started to do something then nothing, new motor required :-(

Argh, worth a try I reckon before buying new motor! So you say middle position like neutral is it? What temp would that display on the climate control?

I tried the actual flap lever and all was free enough so that's why I condemned the motor as it did nothing.

Cheers

I prised the cover off the motor (a lot of clips) and started checking stuff. The motor resistance was good, the potentiometer resistance was also good so I wound it back to the middle and plugged it into the other side (not hooked up to a flap) for testing.

I hit the recalibrate and it moved fine, when I put it back on the original side it still moved fine so I put it all back together.

The motor position doesn't correspond to any particular temp, the programming behind it is quite complex. But the recalibrate will move to the motor to each stop and record the position.

Here is a picture of the servo motor open. Because it's a worm gear you can only turn it at the motor.

Thanks for the reply mate, I did take mine apart and It worked for a second or two when plugged back in then nothing.

I have sourced a new one @ £80 plus VAT but I got a warranty included with the car so have claimed off that so no cost incurred other than 20 mins of my time to remove old one and replace.

Thanks again
