Had my mk2 vrs serviced in work by the mv department , they got all the parts etc.

picked the car up yesterday and the empty oil can was in my boot but they have used 5/40 and not 3/30 oil vw 502/505 grade. do i need t get it drained again or will it do for six months. my car gets serviced every 12 months, oil change every six

Petrol VRs or Diesel?

If the car is on Fixed servicing the oil should be 502:00 spec, if it's on Variable the spec should be 504:00

Petrol, just checked the Comma website whch is the brand used and put my vehicle details in and its come back as the right oil Syner-g 5/40

I doubt it would do any harm to have run the wrong oil for 6 months anyway.. but better to know you have the right stuff in there!!

VW 502 will only last 15K Kms so will need change by then rather than waiting for the variable light to come on.
