Door rubbers

Featured Replies

Any recommendations on how to clean door rubbers? Mine r starting to look abit green. Lol

Invariably an APC with a brush and give them a scrub. Then either a good dry to the touch tyre or plastic dressing but the best thing would be Einszett Gummi Pflege Stift, restores the rubber to it's former glory and also rejuvenates the rubber. Ebay has some for about £6 or so.

Got mine two for a tenner with no postage. Really does the job.

Used Gummi Pflege for the first time on my car today, gave the rubber trim around the front windows a going over, surprise, surprise it started to rain 2 hours later and rinsed the Gummi Pflege off and streaked down the windows.Think I will stick to Autoglym products for the exterior as I normally do.Not impressed.

Did you use too much and not wipe away the residue?

G Pflege is great stuff but must be applied sparingly and wiped over with a cloth after application

I did wipe over with a cloth afterwards wether or not I used too much I cannot say, will give it another go sometime and see if I get a better result.

I use Einszett for the door rubbers (ie door seals) as it rejuvenates the rubber and stops the door from sticking when the frost hits. The external window rubbers I use Gtechniq T1 or C4, but as said if using Einszett on external rubbers, apply sparingly and wipe over and repeat next wash allowing the rubber to take in the treatment but not allowing any excess which may streak if it gets wet.

I've had quite a bit of joy with AG Bumper Gel on exterior rubber window seals

I, too, use the Einszett product on all the hidden rubber seals...with no problems. I've never thought to use it on any exterior, visible trim/seals.

I only use mine on interior rubber

I presume the product can be used on exterior trim, not just the inner rubber seals/trims?.

Doubt it

There are other products for exterior trim

Think I will stick to Autoglym Vinyl and Rubber Care then.

Gummi is for interior only.

For interior I use swissvax seal feed.

At £42 a pop?

Not for me...I'll stick with Gummi Pflege...LOL

Gummi as said is for interior only, i use it once a month.

Silicone grease is pretty good, as it keeps the rubbers supple and prevents them from cracking over time.

Where would you get this `Silicone grease` from?

Many thanks

Mike.

They sell it in Halfords as well.
