Does anyone know.....................?

Featured Replies

I've noticed that when I unlock my Citigo and open the door there is a slight whirring noise for maybe a second.

Any techy bods know what it is???

Sounds like the fuel pump priming itself.

I would not have thought the fuel pump would be live until the ignition was switched on but could be wrong?

Any particular location for the noise e.g. front, rear, drivers door?

I've noticed this too. Not loosing any sleep over it.....

Gizmo is correct.. It's the fuel pump building up pressure to ensure a fast start.

Thanx peeps. Thought it may be something like that.

Yep, all the Skodas do it and have done for quite some time.

Only happens when you open the drivers door -not the others

What happens if you have a leak? Would it pump until it ran dry?

In theory yes, but look on the bright side, you would find where the leak is.

No, it pumps only for a second or two, and it would not pump any longer even if there was a big leak.
