all Combi gets pushed 2 month (delay) Yes Delay

Featured Replies

im so sad right now, just talked to the dealer, and could tell me that all combi models are delayed 8 weeks due to. (sit down) Chrome trim around side windows and seat cover issues. WTF.... this is my worst fear come true. my new building week is now week 40 and delevery week 43.

Interesting. I wonder what this will mean for the VRS, as the estate was due to be available first.

vRS might be saved if it doesn't come with chrome trim and has different seats.

Really i dont give a S... About The Vrs this is about The ambition and Elegance models.

But IF i had known this i had Never ordered a Octivia.

wow... :-(((

I wonder if that is what has (or is...) happening to my car ordered on 14th May with "unknown" production week (as told today by dealer)

and no detailed information provided by Skoda Sweden either.

Even if mine is not an estate/combi, seats are the same and it's the same chrome trim... I would guess...

And it makes me wonder what state my Combi is in - it was from Build Week 23 and as of Monday, was on a ship from Emden. Don't know where it is at the moment; planning to speak to the dealer tomorrow to see if I can fit its delivery into my busy next week.

No, clearly they should provide some sort of "compensation"... But I doubt it. But maybe I'm just pessimistic... :-(

Some sort of "united" complaint from customers...?

:'(

On the bright side, if there is any... they are dealing with those issues which members of this forum have reported.

Chrome trim and poor seat fabric quality...

On the less bright side... How can they start using something which is of such inferior quality that they have to stop using it...?

They (factory) must have checked "stuff" before they put it in cars? But what do I know...? There is some limit for "cutting costs"

and perhaps they just crossed it...?

On the bright side, maybe all those "soon to be" standard items, will actually be fitted.

At the moment Skoda are not heading for a good customer satisfactory review, when I finally take delivery.

Is this delay confirmed by any other sources?

There will always be quality issues with first off production line cars, there always has been,

At least there sorting it now rather than when you take delivery

Is this delay confirmed by any other sources?

I'm soon on phone with Skoda Sweden. If I get any useful reply, I'll report back.

I'm definitely not trying to argue against you since it's a matter of opinion, but I rather prefer to have a car delivered which I don't have to take back to the dealer at once

due to various "quality issues". Then I prefer to wait a couple of weeks and get it right from the start.

But don't mistake my pragmatic view for indifference... I am as unhappy as anyone else about this situation, expressed in another thread on this forum. :|

Sorry to hear about all these delays. I wonder if the recent flooding in Czech is also something to do with it, I heard that Prague was very badly affected and I think the factory is only about 50 miles away from there so there must be supply chain issues?

According to my dealer (but not yet confirmed) that was one reason. "Suppliers" (whatever that is called properly in English...) have been affected, and then parts have not arrived at Skoda...

I hope (for those interested) to get some words back from Skoda Sweden during tomorrow. At least that's what they told me on phone this afternoon...

Don't worry. Wtih this kind of delay you're intitled to cancel your order.

Since I said I would get back to this topic for anyone interested when I heard back from Skoda Sweden...

Read it or scroll down... :)

Mine (though hatch and not combi/estate...) was ordered on 14th May and will be built in week 32. If this means "production issues"

with delay or not, I don't know since this is the first proper information I've got so I have no possible previous date to compare with.

My dealer told me at the time of order to expect something between 2-3 months, so from that perspective it's normal, even if it's a mystery

to me why the production week has been "unknown" until this morning. (I don't quite buy that...)

In any case, I asked twice about delay due to "problems with quality" on chrome trim and seat fabrics, but the person I talked

with could not confirm this rumour. Maybe there is a quality issue with estates which not affects the hatch version. I don't know,

but I would expect same type of seats and same type of chrome trim on both types... (but I'm no expert, obviously)

I don't know if this shed any light on questions asked before, but this is what I could find out. Perhaps it helps someone, perhaps

it doesn't...

Hmmm I ordered mine on 10th May and today I am picking it up. Las week was at the border but we had a bank holiday here hence the delay.

I've contacted both my dealer and SUK, and neither have been able to confirm a delay. However my estimated build week is now 36, which is a change of 8 weeks from the original estimated.

I just spoke to my Car dealer a minut ago. There seem to be some delay.

I ordered my estate June 2nd and initial build week was week 30. Now, today, the fab date is in week 34... Now lets see how bad it ends. The delivery for an estate ordered today is march 2014 - so within this year would be nice... :)

Why am I not surprised that it is the Chrome that's being suggested as the problem? I wish they could fix it and start offering it to everyone again.

I'm really glad I didn't order the chrome surrounds or roof rails and kept the £300

Also "Waiting (impatiently) for a Steel Grey Octavia III 2.0 TDI Estate" but wondering what mine will be like with the chrome surrounds and roof rails that I ordered - hopefully I will find out on Friday!
