He sure can, drop me a message.
  2. Check the fuse panel, look at the diagram there is a small icon of a person running away from a sound wave, that is the alarm fuse. When mine played up I removed this and it stopped the alarm going off. The actual siren is under the scuttle panel between the fire wall and base of windscreen - wipers off, panel unbolted and it lifts up, from memory there is a metal plate also that covers the siren. My Fabia is a 2009 - I replaced mine about 8 years ago and touch wood it has behaved ever since.
  3. So.... during the last couple of weeks I changed the lower wishbones (complete with all bushes and bolts etc.) Whilst there I spreayed some silicone spray into the top of the suspension turrets around the top mounts - like a fair bit! - low and behold for now the car has STFU!
  4. With the headlights more 'inboard' they are the 'pre face lift model' - usually with the older style badges too. With the headlights in the first photo - just know the side light bulbs are a pig to change. I have the 1.4 TDi on a 2009 reg and confirm no particulate filter and it is a PD injector set up.
  5. Hello All, Admittedly it's for my VW Transporter 2014 but I do have VCDS... Got a difficult one here, replaced the spare key battery (vehicle 10 years old - spare key never used), went out and unlocked the van, all ok - so locking is synced correctly. Key in ignition and then get the above error message, thought it weird as key is brand new. The immobiliser chip is definitely in the key, have tried the resync methods detailed on line with door locking manually, button on the door, turning key and pressing lock or unlock etc. Nothing, then I tried the original key and it told me that was not recognised either - (brown trouser moment). So plugged in VCDS, got the error messages relating to the immobiliser etc, but when ignotion was on also has flashing glow plug symbol. Ran a scan and cleared all fault codes etc. Scanned again and cleared them, then original key worked. Left it a few hours and used original key - all worked ok. Spare key still not playing ball, despite trying the same procedure mentioned above. Any help or pointers greatly appreciated.
  6. I'd say due to the age of the car, the plastics may be a little brittle, so I would recommend taking the wiper arms and scuttle panel off, then removing them by pushing the tabs underneath. Hardest part will be getting the wiper arms off. Whilst there always a good idea to cleam out the scuttle panel and drains as these fill up with crud.
  7. OK. Let me know if you need anything else. More than happy to help.
  8. Forgot to list ball joints on my previous post - as I changed these too! Yet she still squeaks over bumps.
  9. Mine started doing this a while ago, I changed the following: Lower wishbones and bushes to original OEM spec. (after trying Poly bushes - which were truly awful due to the level of vibration) Drop Links. Anti Roll Bar bushes. It is still doing it - my conclusion is now the top mounts, which are on the to do list.
  10. Think the easiest way to tell is if your car has additional parking sensors on the side quarters of the bumpers front and rear (facing side ways). Plus a button with picture of a steering wheel on the centre consul.
  11. Did they move it's location then? I replaced mine a few years back and it was at the base of the windscreen beneath the wiper arms and scuttle panel.
  12. I changed the reverse light switch on my Fabia earlier in the year. It was tough to remove - I removed mine to top up the gearbox oil - upon refitting, due to the old threadlock stuff on the existing switch, it went in so far and sheared clean off! In a rage i stabbed a screwdriver into the remains of it and wound it out. Now one fitted (cost about £30) from main dealer. went in like a dream, I accessed mine from the top, need a decent deep socket and take your time. Oh and be a bit of a contortionist!
  13. Not that I recall, could still lock and unlock the car. Warning light on the door card may not illuminate or be permanent on - indicating a fault on the system.
  14. Take the fuse board cover off, there is an icon that looks like a person running away from a sound wave. That will be the fuse to silence it. It won't stop your indicators flashing though whilst alarm is going off. Had the same issue on mine, had to replace the siren which is located under the wiper arms on the scuttle bulkhead, about £200 to replace the siren.
