  1. We too use magic eyes to allow shared use of sky boxes. Obviously there's only one box so the same channel has to be displayed in both rooms.
  2. By changing from a city go to a 1.2TSi, how much is that costing you, how long is it going to take to make that money back by having greater economy? Back in topic - I'm surprised you're asking the question! So what if it cost you 2 mpg, are you seriously prepared to take extra safety risks for yourself on the roads to save a few quid?
  3. I'm apple obsessed too! Can I suggest to everyone that you get Apple care as you more than likely will need it if you keep a computer for over a year. Problem with apple now is that they don't change just a broken part, they change the whole lot. I.e if the screen goes, you get a whole new top lid, not just the LCD display. I've had a few MacBooks now, my parents have them and my sister does. We've all either used, or wish we had apple care on the machines! I'm a student so I get 15% off laptops and 75% off apple care
  4. Yes Porsche Cayenne's are in really high demand. My parents wanted one but decided to buy new as resale values are stupid! I've seen quite a variety of cars used as unmarked vehicles now - sneaky lot! BMW 5 series saloon + estate, 3 series, Hyundai i30, focus, Astra, all the usual ones. Saw one last week I hadn't seen before though - BMW 1 series coupe!
  5. Are you sure the 4th lane wasn't one of the hard shoulder lanes only used when it gets mega busy? The boards are never set well on that stretch of the M62. I often drive down there to go through say 60, 60, 50, 40, 30, 60, 70. It's stupid. It slows everyone down to 30 for no reason at all.
  6. Not read any of the article but wanted to put a couple of things down.. If you weren't speeding, yet you get a fine, I don't think it's a good idea to say 'oh well I'll pay to go on the course'. I thought from now on, by law, you have to declare to your insurance company if you have been on one, even if you have no points. Secondly, speed limits frustrate me. Near me there's a 1.5mile stretch of dual carriageway. Near on perfectly straight, no junctions off it or crossings, 50mph limit. Why? You go to the otherside of the housing estate and not far from that are very very tight bends on country roads, 60mph limit. Where's the logic?!
  7. Hill hold on a manual: get on a slop, stop, take your foot off the brake. If you go back you haven't got it, if the brakes remain on for approx 3 seconds then you have. My 2011/61 Leon FR 2.0TDi has it.
  8. Interesting thread. I have a CR 170 Leon so it's definitely food for thought...
  9. Yes, it's a different car with a remap on it! I'm extreme bored driving it at the minute with standard map on :(
  10. http://www.fuelly.com/driver/jarre/leon This is my fill ups for my 1.2TSi engine in a leon it was remapped (129bhp) in October 2012. December it had a fuel injector issue so wasn't used much. Remap was taken off a week ago. From that it really shows I achieved better mpg when it actually had more power!
  11. I think he will have to re-write the map as its different software version.
  12. To be on the safe side I'd make the assumption, or accept, that if you remap a car under warranty, and then take the car into the dealers with the remap, expect that the warranty will be void on the ECU, and possibly engine. Alternatively remove the map BEFORE taking it into the dealers of you are suffering an engine/ECU problem to be on the safe side. Coming from someone who has experience of dealing with a mapped car under warranty
  13. Just to let everyone know... I've had the car on the rollers at awesome gti in Manchester. It acheived 129bhp with a nice smooth curve!
  14. Love to know how you're getting that! Also are you using the trip computer or actually calculating it properly? I find the trip computer is fairly inaccurate and doesn't match the true mpg I actually get.
