I priced up Thule roof bars and two proglide bike carriers for my hatch and it came to £320. There are cheaper makes out there but Thule systems seem to be high quality. For those with a Thule system already are they worth the extra cost?

You are correct, it's laser white which is no charge and moon white metallic is chargeable on VRS only. Thought it would be too good to be true.
-
It would be nice to see it in the flesh, I wonder if anybody's been brave enough to order it. Looking at the photos it seems to have a blue tint which most other metallic whites do. Can't believe Skoda wouldn't charge us if it was metallic.
-
Is Moon White actually metallic? There is no charge if you select it using the Configurator. I found the below which claims to show moon white at the side of candy white, moon white looks quite nice. http://www.vwwatercooled.com.au/forums/f149/new-octavia-when-how-much-90744-113.html Post #1126

I didn't receive any paperwork from Skoda but when booking in for the first service I told the dealer I was on a service plan. They asked for my mileage as they said they needed to get authorisation from Skoda before the service could be done. The delaer must have got approval as I walked out after the service without paying anything.....that's a nice feeling.

They are for attaching roof rails. -
I hope these are available as an accessory also, I really think they set the car off nicely. Probably be twice the price an a accessory though.....

Question for 1.6 TDi/1.2 TSi ownerd
Has replied to pipsyp's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
1.2 TSI is a single pipe. -
Yes, early models had the name of the unit at the top, this changed with the MY14 models which started to land around July 2013.
-
I fold my mirrors in as I'm wiping down, this releases a good amount of water.
-
I've had my Octavia 1.2 TSI since last June and covered 8k miles. Your choice of engine comes down to how you use the car, personally the 1.2 TSI suits me perfectly, my daily commute is a 30 mile round trip plus a longer journey 2-3 times a month. From a standing start the 1.2 is adequate, once you start to pick the revs up the move through the gears it's really good. The pick up from 60-70mph is also very good, I was really surprised at this. Now I've had the car a while I don't really think about the engine size I just get in and drive the car and never really feel left wanting. My long-term MPG is 51 which I'm more than happy with. So my advice is to think about how you will use the car and match the engine to that, don't try and make the 1.2 TSI do something it wasn't designed for, like pulling a caravan up a steep hill. Good luck with the decision

My oil warning light came on today towards the end of my 260 mile journey. I'd just tipped over 8000 miles when it came on. Being so far from home I'll just have get oil from the nearest place I can find. But nice to know Wilco's has it on offer. Thanks!

It's only a problem when it freezes as we all know water expands when frozen, we've not had a bad winter this year so I've only seen my retained water turn into ice once so far.

Really sorry to hear what the scum did to your new car. It happened to me a few years ago, the car wasn't new but still p****d me off. They went down the street and did about 10 cars in total, I don't know what kicks they get from it. I'm sure it will look as good as new when repaired.

My wife's car is with Toyota Finance but I did the same with her last car which was with BMW Finance so I assumed all manufacturer finance would be the same. I don't see what difference it makes.
-
The finance doesn't have to be in the same name as the registered keeper. My wife is the registered keeper of her car but the finance is in my name........what was I thinking!!

I have a personal plate which I've had for 8 years now and transferred it twice (now on my Octy). Correct me if I'm wrong but you don't actually own the registration number, you own the right to display the number on a vehicle. If you don't want to display the reg on a vehicle but want to keep hold of it you have to pay the DVLA every year to do so, called putting the reg on Retention. If you don't pay to keep the reg on Retention you will lose it and it's back on sale (I think). I'm not an expert in this area, just my understanding.

When I came to do mine I found a tick box saying 'Summer (DST)' just under the time, I had no idea what is was for, it was showing ticked so I unticked it and the time automatically went back one hour. Guess I'll need to tick it again next summer.

Another fine example, looking great....loving all the vRS pics at the moment, keep them coming.
-
Either way it looks the business!!
-
The de-badging looks good, I'm guessing you didn't do this yourself?
-
Wow......now that's a vRS, exactly how it should look.....mean and aggressive! Nice car, enjoy it!!
