  1. Thanks for that but absolutely no indications at all. Only the light itself
  2. Recently the interior light of my wife’s 2018 Citigo has started coming on randomly while driving. I can’t identify the door switches for the light - I think in the door locks? I have taken out the lamp assembly and cleaned the contacts of that switch worked for a while but problem back - would appreciate any thoughts/ ideas Grumpy
  3. I recently contacted Skoda re the failure of the speed limit detection system to respond to speed limit signs in my area. You pass two very obvious 30 mph signs and the system does not react for at least 1/2 mile after the signs. Skoda said must be a fault in my car which may be a warranty issue ( really car only 9 month old). I then pointed out that my neighbours also have Skodas (2 Karoqs and another Kamiq) and they behave in the same way. It is a flaw in their system. Waze and Google all respond correctly
  4. Just to say I had same misgivings re insurers and a permanently (powered) dash am. I’m with Aviva and checking with them the were happy and said they treated it as an accessory. I have carefully saved the confirming email.
  5. My understanding is that if you cancel within 14 days you only pay a token interest fee. You do not lose any of the package deal parts ie service package, warranty or dealer contributions. Have done it 3 times now. No issues at all I think this is a general financial service rule across all finance deals. It was our local dealership who confirmed/ suggested this.
  6. Not sure if this helps but the other day I set off without my phone. The car reacted normally until I realised the car play was trying to connect to my phone (on the display) but all other functions - media player etc were normal.
  7. Normally only a single press on fob should lock the car. Single press then opens drivers door, double press then opens other doors and tailgate. On my car the headlights come on when it’s dark and the lights are in auto mode in daylight only the indicators flash
  8. As above - coins or tokens
  9. Great pricing when compared to Skoda dealership
  10. I have been using Prestone (I get it in Costco) for many years and it worked fine in Yeti, Karoq and Kamiq with no problems - can recommend
  11. Sympathetic to that idea - Karoq done last year too. UK always super aggressive on money front. When I bought my Yeti it was three years. We had office in Germany so when over there I gave local garage my engine number and they said five years. I complained to Skoda UK and they replied were increasing to 4 years - complained again and when car due it was increased to five years.
  12. Sympathetic to that idea - Karoq done last year too
  13. My wife bought a low mileage Citigo (auto) during covid. She loves it. All the above on condition comments apply - we had the timing belt replaced at the then time interval ( car only 12000 miles). Main caveat on brakes applies to all VAG group systems - disks show rust and the drum brakes need properly cleaned regularly or the handbrake will tend to stick on. The other minor space comment is only 4 seatbelts which I suspect some folks go for Fabia. Find a good independent for servicing and you’ll be fine
  14. Interesting re dealer. I have new Kamiq and the app works but the dealer didn’t do anything that I know of. I downloaded and activated the app on my iphone
  15. On mine it is the digital dash plastics and it seems to be in the area above the steering column. It is temperature sensitive but I’m hoping wedging in some foam rubber will fix. My Yeti had a really annoying rattle and it was the cowls round the speedo and tachometer - tiny bit of foam jammed in gap cured it so fingers crossed for Kamiq
  16. Just got clarification. This is a Skoda pay for and it essentially only does what Waze does for free. It lets subscribers input traffic conditions in real time. Apparently I get a year for free and it updates the Skoda. Map system.
  17. Grumpy Geaser replied to a post in a topic in Škoda Kamiq
The Skoda lane assist and speed limit warning are easy to turn off compared to other makes. I don’t personally like them - my sister in law (BMW X-1) has to trawl through menus to turn hers off. On my Karoq the front brake assist would be a bit excitable but you could reduce its sensitivity in the menu.
  18. Try checking if it is the lower edge of the instrument cluster/ top of steering column. Mine makes a high pitch clicking at random and pressing in this area stops the sound. Other users have noted this and suggest pressing a bit of foam rubber into the gap - seems to be differences in the plastic fittings. No guarantees but worth a try
  19. To fair to Skoda Waze is not integrated into the car systems as it is coming from your phone. I agree it it as bit of a fiddle but as noted the messages will self clear anyway. Waze is still way better than Skodas mapping and they also want to charge for what they call traffication - the real time updates Waze gives for free.
  20. Will have a look and try to deselect - thanks for that. Certainly don’t want it.
  21. Just bought new Kamiq SE-L after many years of a Karoq. Have been working through the various set-ups in the system - connect etc and have got most going but I keep getting a message about traffication. What exactly is this? Puzzled as I seem to have all the relevant connection things set - the sat nav works although I default to Waze normally. Is Traffication a pay for? The sat nav knows where it is - anyone help me out here. How do I stop this annoying message? Thanks Grumpy
  22. That is what I thought it might be but the answer is suspension parts. Really poor
  23. I have had this discussion with service dept every year. They want to replace the pads and disks for corrosion/ wear and the car will sail through its MOT same day. Dealer up selling. If in doubt get a second opinion and, as noted, the Skoda parts are way too expensive
  24. Browsing brochure for Kamiq SE L and found that rear shock absorption is a feature of this trim level (see below). Unsure of what feature this could be (crash protection or what) I contacted Skoda customer service and was utterly astounded to receive the reply below. I tried hard to explain that rear suspension/ shock absorbers have been standard on all cars since before I learned to drive in mid 1960’s - obviously someone told to make a up a number of bullet points with no understanding of cars. 🤯
  25. Interesting as I had a fight with Skoda UK some years ago when I had my Yeti. In Uk (at that time the wanted to change at 3 years and when I was working in Germany I asked in a dealers there and they were five years. Complained to Skoda ( in Briskoda somewhere) and they phoned me up to say factory guidelines were going to four years - I told him that was rubbish as Germany five years. They changed to five not too long after. I wish I had seen that latest change as Karoq and Citigo were both done last year 🤯
