Should've done, apologies. Basically the throttle and EGR housings need to come out the way......and the supporting bracket that's bolted to the block. Dipstick tube off to. I had the car jacked up and the undertray off but I think this wasn't really required and the job can be done with all 4 wheels on the ground. I temporarily refitted the dipstick tube when I removed the 'stat housing or else I would've got coolant in the sump. That's about it really, reassembly is a reversal of removal as Haynes would say!!

From start to finnish it took me about 4 hours, hey ho.

Gunsons East Bleed, slave cylinder was accessed by removing the air filter box.....I would think your Golf will be similar?

When changing clutch fluid on my wifes Oct VRS I started doing it manually just by working the pedal up and down but this didn't work, lost the pedal so to speak. Used "easy bleed" kit and now done.

I have access to Bosch esi tronic........any good for this? I did have a scroll down the settings but couldn't see any locking features under "convenience".

Our 2009 Octavia VRS unlocks just the drivers door and then after another press of the unlock button all the other doors are unlocked. Can the locking ECU be reprogrammed to unlock ALL the doors on the first press of the button. Heard it can be done on mk3 Octy but what about the mk2? Thanks in advance.

What boils my p155 is seeing copper grease caked on a bonnet catch (after I've just brushed my head off it!), and on door hinges-why!......and the ultimate shaking of the head must be battery terminals plastered in the stuff. Hey ho.

I'd be curious to know what Skoda workshop info says on lube for the caliper pins?? I'm not a fan of putting copper grease where it's not needed. I used rubber grease last time but have used white(spray) grease in the past. Anyone?.......
