  1. Here’s mine but not on 1900… Car is 2022/23 delivered jan23.
  2. yeh that’s as close as I’ve got mine as well, just think the finished product looks like a bit of an afterthought
  3. Does anyone know if the mk4 Octavia radio can look more like the fabias icon layout (below image) which is pretty much the same as the previous mk3 Octavia and mk7 golf’s generation of infotainment? Only asking as to be honest I think the Octavias radio station setup looks rubbish in comparison; unfinished / untidy.
  4. Can I ask how much hassle was it rejecting the car back to dealer? I’m currently looking at options to reject mine back to them due to issues but worried it’s going to be an utter mare to sort out. All the best with the new motor! Adios!
  5. Got mine in January 2023. It had some daft errors on the dash like stop start, acc and lane assist not working. But the radio unit rarely crashed. It then went to Skoda for various work and since then it’s been crashing every day, every drive. Its software version is 1896 (I think) this was installed when the car pinged a notification for update availability last Thursday, which has only increased the frequency of software crashes.
  6. All down to the paint prep and polish prior to the coating being applied to bring the paint to its best appearance then the coating seals all that goodness in, expect a really nice and deep gloss finish and then exceptional beading characteristics.
  7. Yes ceramic coating is 100% worth it for ease of cleaning the car. Dirt, bugs spatter all comes off much easier. Check with your detailer on the best product for your driving circumstances (mileage etc.) as not all coatings are equal; some last for 2 years other can be longer. Mines got GTechniq (not sure which one though; it’s warranted for 5years). It looks amazing after every wash. For protection against chips though PPF is needed. I’ve had some 🤬 try rub a coin into my bonnet and the PPF was swirled up and damaged, applied hot water and it healed up nicely and the paint underneath is fine. So again highly recommend it.
  8. Mine since it went to Skoda for fixes and updates has been crashing even more lately especially with the weather getting better and the interior being warmer - the screen and back of the unit gets incredibly hot, which I think is probably one of the main causes for it crashing. There’s no venting on the back which would help airflow over the electronics 🤦‍♂️. Another thing to add to the list of fixes they need to do.
  9. I’ve noticed this as well. Mine literally sounds like the rear passenger window behind the drivers side Bpillar is slightly open.
  10. Gets exhaust pops and bangs as well… if only we could all remove our GPF’s 😂
  11. Can confirm mine has the map with round dials option, car delivered Jan 23.
  12. Who did you map with? How’s the performance compared to standard mk4 245 TSI? The exhaust, what’s the sound like?
  13. On ST XA coilovers in the Scottish Borders 👍
  14. I’ve not had an issue with mine when re-adjusted following the vehicle being lowered.
  15. Have you tried manually adjusting the headlight height? Little white nylon “bolts” can be rotated with an Allan key to adjust both vertical and horizontal.
  16. Changes made: ST XA Coilovers fitted, lowered to remove that arch gap but not slammed to a stupid height. Ride comfort has remained superb which I’m really pleased about. Only other changes are my Motec wheels which I think has really improved the look over a standard car and a front badge change courtesy of SuperSkoda.
  17. How easy was the grill swap? My wife hit a deer in her VRS before Christmas and we’ve been quoted £1800 for the repair to simply replace the cracked upper grill. Claiming new bumper needed so included cost of painting it to match Rally Green and all that.
  18. This happens with (removed the word “all” to keep Toot happy 🤪) LED headlamp units unfortunately and isn’t an issue only to Skoda. My mk7.5 GTi PP had it, my mk3 VRS before it. LED creates no heat to get rid of the condensation. Mine went away in direct sunlight the other day but this cold snap in UK has meant it’s returned, as mentioned perfect conditions right now for it.
  19. Picked it up yesterday, now the slow process of bedding it in begins 😬
  20. It’s a case of each to their own isn’t it really. The VRS model should have an exhaust note, the mk4 is far too quiet IMO. Sure the other Octavia models can be as quiet as a mouse but why promote your top spec vehicle as the “sports” or “hot hatch” and make it sound like a vacuum cleaner? Just my ten pence worth 🤪
  21. Cheers mate, picked it up yesterday, looks great all cleaned up! The photos in your link look spot on! 👍
  22. Hey no worries, currently from sitting in it in the showroom I would say the interior is leaps and bounds ahead of our mk7.5 GTi’s, just feels a bit nicer place to be and a big step up from the mk3 Octavia as well. I’ve also looked at the mk8 GTi for comparison and I think VW dropped a clanger with it, the plastic felt cheaper in more areas. Once I’ve got it and driven it properly I’ll let you know what it’s like in terms of handling etc. engine wise I’ve gone petrol so same engine at 245 just lugging a little bit extra booty around.
  23. Cheers for your feedback everyone that’s much appreciated. Been to the dealer to have another good look at the car and got it brought out into the sunshine. Made my choice, going to go with it 👍.
  24. Evening all, Got an urgent question for anyone who has a hyper green (Mamba) VRS. How are you finding the colour? Still loving it or any regrets? I'm literally on the knife edge of completing on PX for a new Hyper Green VRS Hatch with delivery this Tuesday but suddenly having doubts... Some photos I see the colour looks really vibrant! others it looks flat and not really green. Wondering whether to stall / cancel the deal and order a Race Blue albeit it'll probably have a ridiculous lead time... Cheers!
