  1. This happens with (removed the word “all” to keep Toot happy 🤪) LED headlamp units unfortunately and isn’t an issue only to Skoda. My mk7.5 GTi PP had it, my mk3 VRS before it. LED creates no heat to get rid of the condensation. Mine went away in direct sunlight the other day but this cold snap in UK has meant it’s returned, as mentioned perfect conditions right now for it.
  2. Picked it up yesterday, now the slow process of bedding it in begins 😬
  3. It’s a case of each to their own isn’t it really. The VRS model should have an exhaust note, the mk4 is far too quiet IMO. Sure the other Octavia models can be as quiet as a mouse but why promote your top spec vehicle as the “sports” or “hot hatch” and make it sound like a vacuum cleaner? Just my ten pence worth 🤪
  4. Cheers mate, picked it up yesterday, looks great all cleaned up! The photos in your link look spot on! 👍
  5. Hey no worries, currently from sitting in it in the showroom I would say the interior is leaps and bounds ahead of our mk7.5 GTi’s, just feels a bit nicer place to be and a big step up from the mk3 Octavia as well. I’ve also looked at the mk8 GTi for comparison and I think VW dropped a clanger with it, the plastic felt cheaper in more areas. Once I’ve got it and driven it properly I’ll let you know what it’s like in terms of handling etc. engine wise I’ve gone petrol so same engine at 245 just lugging a little bit extra booty around.
  6. Cheers for your feedback everyone that’s much appreciated. Been to the dealer to have another good look at the car and got it brought out into the sunshine. Made my choice, going to go with it 👍.
  7. Evening all, Got an urgent question for anyone who has a hyper green (Mamba) VRS. How are you finding the colour? Still loving it or any regrets? I'm literally on the knife edge of completing on PX for a new Hyper Green VRS Hatch with delivery this Tuesday but suddenly having doubts... Some photos I see the colour looks really vibrant! others it looks flat and not really green. Wondering whether to stall / cancel the deal and order a Race Blue albeit it'll probably have a ridiculous lead time... Cheers!
  8. Well I didn’t stay away too long! Traded my GTi pp mk7.5 in at the weekend as need a bigger car again. New motor shall be unveiled soon… mk4 VRS 2.0 TSi hatch. Tis not Blue… but Hyper Green, a silly colour 😂 Still got my motec wheels so they’ll be going straight on along with my R600 intake from the golf. ST XA coilovers are on the way along with some Maxton part as well. Photos shall be added soon.
  9. Update… a sad day and a happy day. My car has been p/x’d last weekend for a mk7.5 GTi PP, 14k on the clocks, 3door manual in metallic grey. Loved every bit of the VRS ownership, it’s been a cracking work horse and so far I would put down to one of the best cars I’ve ever had the pleasure of owning so it was a hard decision to sell in the end. I’ll probably miss the space it offers and the mild economy but looking forward to getting back into a GTi tomorrow. So having said that I’ve taken a few things off the car which are available for sale, PM for details: - Reiger Rear Diffuser, Gloss Black in great condition (like new) - Reiger Front Splitter, Gloss Black in great condition (like new) - Stock OEM rear Anti-Roll Bar - Front lower Grill These will all be up on gumtree / Facebook marketplace as well. But do let me know if you’re interested in any of the above items from my car. One last thing… Cheers to all who helped with advice along the way. I’ll be around on here now and again but for now all the best everyone, stay safe and take care 👍
  10. I wouldn’t say the pre FL headlights are bad they just point too far down at standard. Yes they aren’t like an LED light on modern cars but these are going back to 2013 design now, that’s getting on a bit in the grand scheme of car lighting. I took mine to Skoda and asked them to adjust to suit the car being lowered and now I can see all the way down the road fully lit without need for a main beam. Fully light up road signs where they didn’t before, can see corners way off in the distance better than before where it seemed to be darkness about 70 yards out from the car. They’re bright, the set up of these is key to getting the best out of them.
  11. I had a fiesta ST mk7 and as mentioned above it always put a smile on my face, bang for buck they’re hard to beat on a good B Road. Only reason I got rid of mine was it was completely out of its depth commuting 80mile a day. They’re not that hard riding though, but that’s all subjective. I’d have one back in a flash if the commute / practicality wasn’t an issue.
  12. If you really want fun you need to ditch VAG group altogether, get something rear wheel drive… GT86 are an absolute hoot on twisty roads if you can stomach being overtaken by a 245vrs on the straights 😜. Or buy BMW last generation 140i…
  13. Bettablast are superb mate, had a few wheels done here in the past and they were outstanding. http://www.bettablast.co.uk
  14. The going rate for Hunter alignment should be around £70, over £200 for alignment work is an utter disgrace.
  15. Cheers for the run through mate, bit more too it than I had hoped but it sets the interior off nicely doesn’t it
  16. To be honest I didn’t replace the locking bolts for the front, never got round to it, but it is something that should be done . For the new wheels I have got new bolts and lockers all around from LK Performance who stock a massive range of fasteners. Just measure the bolts from H&R and order to suit. Yeah the original plastic lock caps fit 👍. They were mate, no worries happy to help.
  17. Oh it’s been abused, fully loaded with patio sets, brimmed boot with bags of sand for garden etc, had the wheels in the arch and no rub. 😊 Yep the rears they fix up to the hub with the provided bolting then you simply bolt up to it with the wheel bolts. The 15’s come with longer wheel bolts, you’d just need to source a locking bolt set for the fronts. I’ve got plenty on an angle but none straight down the flank of the car unfortunately.
  18. Hi mate, thanks, the Motecs on it now are a different offset and width, but if you go to the project thread: You’ll be able to see what it was like with 15mm front / 20mm rear with the standard 19” extremes before I switched them out. I know what you mean though, there are some cars on here that look way lower or more stanced out even with the same kit fitted. Might also depend on the width of tyre they have fitted or brand / design. I can report no scrub on the rear with the extremes or the wider wheels now fitted so wouldn’t worry about that 👍.
  19. Check out DPM Performance website for wheel spacers, the full size range is there for hubcentric spacers from H&R that fit the octavia. Example of the ones I purchased for the rear of my 2016 VR...: H&R TRAK+ 20MM (40MM PER AXLE) HUBCENTRIC WHEEL SPACERS & BOLTS Octavia 5E (2013-2019) Part Number: 40555712
  20. Intrigued by this as I would quite like the inserts on the doors from the facelift on mine. Have you got a build you could share with breakdown of parts required including P/N's? Also how did you wire it all up? Cheers
  21. I had DTUK and switched due to it delivering poor performance and opted for Revo. 231bhp/516Nm and no issues so far. Drivability is greatly improved and performance is what Skoda should have given it out the box. Also had Revo on a mk7 GTD 5 years ago which again had no issues and ran for 35000 miles with the software until I traded it.
  22. I ordered these a couple of months ago and the colour match was shocking. It’s not Race Blue. Shame as the price was spot on.
