  1. No worries mate, when I had my GTD I had a miltek non resonated system fitted, it made a slight difference, strangely it sounded OK during DPF regeneration when it got really hot or after a longer drive, other wise it was just a deep bass sound. I imagine similar will fit the octavia just with a longer centre section?
  2. As someone who had a mk7 GTD, it does not have the sound actuator as standard on the exhaust. It was an option as part of Sports and Sound Pack. It is positioned under the passenger side and is activated when in sports mode. All it does is make the car sound even more like a tractor IMO :P You would have to source that part, connect it to the ECU and program, pain in zee backside for the sake of a more "dieselly" exhaust note. 3. Let me know how it goes doing the removal. I have the kit to do it just not got round to it myself yet
  4. Killallwipers sell the kit
  5. Do you by chance happen to know the part number for the Gti PP RARB?
  6. Cheers yeh I feel that would probably help quite a bit with the diesel wheel hop. Thanks for the feedback, sounds like Whiteline did a good job on the mk2. I certainly feel that upgraded the dampers to go with the lowering springs may also be a good way forward. Quite a difference from front to rear isn't it! Might have a look and see if any gti pp are up on ebay, but it looks like whiteline are doing Β£20 off at the moment as well so options out there. Cheers everyone for the feedback πŸ‘
  7. Is it not open for air flow over the engine?
  8. Cheers for the reply mate. Sounds like it made a big difference! I've got Michelin pilotsport4s fitted so pretty good tyres. Shall check out the whiteline RARB πŸ‘ Did the whiteline have adjustability?
  9. Hi guys, I'm looking at next step for my vrs, I want to improve the handling. I've read a few posts stating rear anti roll bar upgrade has made a big improvement to: 1) handling 2) the feel of how the car turns in Can I just ask for some further feedback from anyone who has upgraded their vrs rear anti roll bar please? I'd like to have it feeling a bit tighter through the bends and there is a bit of body roll on the rear, did skoda intentionally soften the back end on these? Whats best manufacturer to go with? Thickness, adjustability, are new drop links also required and if so where did you go to procure these. Thanks, Mike
  10. Unfortunately it's pretty common with diamond cut alloys. My extremes have the same issues. Has anyone ever had feedback from dealer concerning this?
  11. Ads Automotive are in Preston. I had my mk7 gtd tuned by them with Revo software. Dave at ADS really knows his stuff with Revo and tuning VAG cars. I'd highly recommend, the service was outstanding from them and plenty of free coffee/tea and a TV while you wait πŸ‘ usually takes an hour or so to install the software.
  12. Hello mate, not sure on Stanced coilovers as a brand. I'm guessing its their stanced+ Street variant? Anyways, I will just raise some caution regarding the price of these. They're cheap. Cheap coilovers usually end with negative results. The ride is likely to be way too harsh for the UK, the bodies will be a cheap material, one thats likely to corrode. I'd avoid, I had cheap coilovers on one previous car (mk1 cupra R) and regretted not investing, it might as well have nearly broke my spine and definitely destroyed other components by making everything way too harsh a ride. Essentially ruined a really good car. If you can invest in a more expensive brand (KW variant 2's or 3's at a push) with damper rebound adjustable settings is the better way to do it, that way you can tune out the harshness by compensating the rebound settings to suit. Problem there is price is going up 3 or 4 times that of the Stanced coilovers. I'm sure the H&R's for your skoda quattro VR TDi are part number: HR-28833-3. Awesome GTi stock these...
  13. H&R 40mm drop is common, it's what mine and plenty of others on here have dropped their vrs on. Plenty info though on the forum. You'll find plenty photos in the projects section
  14. My 2.0l TDi vRS regularly achieves 60mpg on a motorway cruise. Around town and more spirited B Roads its doing between 48 and 54mpg.. 48000miles on its ticker currently.
  15. These look good πŸ‘, fills up the rear arch perfectly!
  16. Is the wheel alignment with a Hunter system? If so then Β£200 for the full lot seems fair.
  17. Do drop links need to be upgraded with the sway bar? Or have people just kept their originals on?
  18. My old mk2 developed a split in the top hose coming from the radiator which was split by rubbing on the fan casing. It could literally be a small knick in a hose somewhere. If you can take any plastic covers off and easy to remove parts such as air ducts to the airbox above the radiator and check for split hoses. Radweld is last resort and it doesn't sound like yours is gushing fluid out at a rate that would warrant choking up the coolant system with that stuff.
  19. Smart looking motorπŸ‘
  20. I had a 2013 golf mk7 GTD and currently a 2016 vrs and neither drink oil
  21. It is roughly 25mm drop on a VRS due to them already being 15mm lower at stock. No bother, my drives not the smoothest (thank Persimmon homes for that haha!) Fronts are approx 645mm, rears are at 650mm (measured highest point of arch to the ground), cheers, I think it'll look good on 18's. Yeah understandable, I've had mine brimmed and its been fine on the back end. No scrub. No catching speed bumps either. Most of that weight with the bikes will be on the trailer won't it?
  22. Rides well mate considering the 19's so should be a little better if you keep the 18's on πŸ‘. I don't find it too firm, still retained that comfort, i do 80mile a day on it commuting prior to the lockdown and not felt fatigued by it yet. In comparison my ST on the same commute lowered had me absolutely knackered. I don't think you'll go wrong with either brands of springs mate, guess it ends up depending on how much drop you want, the drop with the H&R's does help the wheel fill the arch a bit more though.
  23. Evening all, Who's fitted maxton side skirts to their RS? I'm trying to get mine on but they're the worst design to fit. Any advice would be most appreciated. Why Maxton haven't pre drilled them so the suitable mount points are obvious like other manufacturers out there... So far I've 3m taped them and mounted one but because of the shape of the sill they really don't sit flat. Where are the best points to drill and add the self tappers? Thanks, Mike
  24. I paid Β£120 at Pullmans Skoda
