  1. Skoda Assist have been out and said it has to go into the garage - Just waiting for them to call back to say a courtsey car has arrived and will be leaving it with them for the weekend.
  2. Well would you believe it I just pulled up in a supermarket car park, the car stalled and now I've got a flashing coil light. Didnt clear on way home. Guess it's into Skoda tomorrow.
  3. Do you have any details of the recall as mine is in for a service in the next couple of months so would like to question them on it.
  4. 1,800 miles into my 2,500 mile trek through Europe last year in my vRS TDI hatch.... I average around 58/59mpg from memory by the time I hit Calais on the return trip.
  5. Lucky bugger - I never got a free one when I bought the car and never received one on either of the previous 2 services. Mind you I have never had to top it up since the day I collected so it would only be sitting there unused.
  6. Sorry to hijack but do you have any idea how to stop the watch tapping you every time it gives you a direction on the Maps app if you are using it for Sat Nav? It's handy for a junction you need to take on the motorway as you get a little tap on the wrist to take the turnoff but if you're navigating around a town centre the tapping on the wrist every 2 seconds is really irritating.
  7. The way they worded it when they said they had replaced rather than repaired seemed to intimate it was a problem they (Skoda) know about and there is a few cases on it. I don't know anymore than that. I had the car detailed just after they "repaired" it last time. The car was swirl free in every area except the spoiler which was absolutely covered in swirls so he gave it a a bit of treatment which removed quite a bit of it but I expect the new one is going to be the same.
  8. Same for me (iPhone 6 plus) but like it that way as it stops any temptation to read whilst driving or see what the notification is.
  9. All repaired and on it's way back to me now. Like above they have actually replaced the spoiler this time.
  10. 24 Pages of info..... http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/294284-weve-started-having-tinker-with-the-20tdi-184ps Andrew or someone at DTUK should have recommended a setting you should have it on.
  11. Apologies I assumed you were in a right hand drive car.
  12. I think that is where my window controls are - front and back.
  13. Booked in for the 18th and they are collecting from me and dropping the courtesy car off. My bubble is growing rapidly so hopefully it doesn't explode by the time the 18th comes around:
  14. They've inspected the photos and agreed to book it in for repair straight away so I don't have to waste a journey on an inspection as the problem is clear in the photos. They are phoning on Tuesday next week to arrange the date and hire car - not looking forward to the tiny Polo again. Let's hope they do it right this time.
  15. The finish along one of the edges on mine was shocking too when they did the original repair - the laquer on one edge was so rough it felt like sandpaper. As it wasn't visible to the eye I just ignored it though. Phoned them this morning and they told me to drive it (an hour away) to them to look at. Explained I wasn't happy at having to make a 3rd trip there with the possiblity of a 4th to drop the car to be repair and 5th to pick it up again so they suggested sending photos which I have. Waiting to hear back but I'm seriously annnoyed that the repair hasn't even lasted 6 months.
  16. My spoiler has now grown a 1 inch bubble! FFS! Just spotted it so not sure how long its been there. Will have to call the dealer first thing but not happy as the local dealer can't fix the issue so will mean taking it miles away to get fixed.
  17. How long ago was the accident? Reason I ask is when I had a no fault accident back in 2008 (rear ended at 40mph when I was stationary at traffic lights) police were passing and helped out, called paramedics etc. They took our details and a week later they sent me a letter detailing the accident, the other parties insurance, and the fact they feel they cannot prosecute the other driver. Do they not do this anymore or is it a more detailed report?
  18. If warranty is the only factor then the DTUK box is your best bet as it leaves no trace.
  19. It's the same with the RAC, AA and nearly every breakdown service......If your car breaks down while towing then they will tow both, if just the caravan then they won't as it is your car which is the 'insured' vehicle. Greenflag are the only ones who include both as standard but could be wrong.
  20. You can enable "N" wifi to speed up transferring footage to your phone considerably. It also allows me to connect to the wifi within 2 seconds of pressing the wifi button on the blackvue - Before my iPhone wouldn't allow me to connect for a minute. You can adjust the bit-rates up or down in both cameras in both normal and parking mode so if you think the parking mode quality is too high you could reduce it and save space on the card You can enable wide dynamic range which essentially makes more of the lighter and darker areas of footage more visible Night footage is much improved with the higher bitrate It gets rid of the black bar at the top of the footage and instead your custom text (if you've set it) goes at the bottom right in the bar that is already there. You can tweak the camera settings: Black levels, White levels, etc although with the WDR enabled the settings the guy has preset have been perfect. I can't remember the other settings off hand but I will print screen the settings page.
  21. Thanks. Managed to finally get the site to work and all installed. Working great if anyone else is thinking of trying it out.
  22. Not the most elegant solution but DAB is now working perfectly. I'll tidy it up when I get 5 mins.
  23. Without saying what your problems are its impossible for anyone to gauge how much they would be willing to do or give you. I had an issue with a £200 option which they then refunded me £200 for plus a tank of fuel for having to take the car there 3 or 4 times. If however your engine has blown up 4 times it might be a bit different.
  24. Depends if you've studied the powercurve of the diesel vRS which points out you should be changing under 4,000 for optimum gear changes as the power completely dies off after this point
