  1. That's exactly what I thought. Is the 20% wear in your discs or pads? I'm not surprised I need new pads as I do drive quite hard.
  2. Just had a service and my front pads AND discs are in need of replacement after 29k (18 months). My 10 years old Alfa Romeo with more than tripple my milleage was still on its original discs when I got rid of it. Very dissapointed as at this rate I will have to replace again before my PCP is up!
  3. I think the recalibration issue mentioned on here before was because the windscreen guy either moved the camera or unplugged something he shouldn't have. If it is done correctly it doesn't need recalibration - Mine didn't.
  4. Don't buy a cheapo battery...Mine needed changing a month ago so lasted approx 15 months. Changed it with some cheapy thing I found in the kitchen draw that came from a market stall and it last a month. Off to buy a Duracell pack today.
  5. 214.6bhp 340.1 lb/ft was my result. Cannot find the graph though which is probably the most important thing.
  6. I did a dyno run with the original box (not the new Trevor box) fitted to my 184 vRS - I'll try and dig the result out. Despite having a faulty boost sensor (didn't realise at the time) I got a very good result and a very smooth curve. Haven't dyno'ed the new Trevor box yet.
  7. I just can't wait to hear their opinion on what the external influence is. Maybe I'm parking it wrong? Act of god? The other point to make is the first bubble wasn't an external influence but the second one is...how did they differentiate? If it happens again I think I should have plenty of evidence.
  8. Interesting call from Skoda UK. The bodywork are saying an external influence is causing the damage and will not repair once they fixed once more. When the dealership call they will apparently be asking me questions about where I store the car etc. Without any marks to the paintwork around the bubble and no scratches and scrapes I'm struggling to understand their theory. The bodyshop are paying for 50% of the repair with the dealership picking up the other 50%. I'm going to take it to my own bodyshop before it goes in to get it inspected by them as I trust their opinion a lot more than Skoda's at this point. With the sub par standard of customer care I've experience so far now with a "blame the customer attitude" on more than one issue I cannot wait until my PCP is up so I can switch brands. If anyone else whose had the issue and posted above could PM me any details they can like photos or warranty claim numbers I'd like to arm myself with them when I visit them.
  9. Rather than going direct to the garage that carried out the repair like I had to do one the first "repair", my local garage who sent me to them are doing all the chasing for me, with Skoda UK chasing them. I'm actually being kept up to date every day which makes a welcome change! I had an update from my local garage this morning saying the photos of the repeat blistering have been sent to Skoda warranty (whoever they are) to ask for clarification on what to do to stop this happening. I'm still not convinced the actual spoiler was replaced by the bodyshop and would be the reason the blister has reappeared in exactly the same place. I also have dashcam footage (rear facing camera) from when it was "replaced" showing them sanding down the blister and surrounding area and carrying out quite a lot of work on it before removing it - I'm hoping this was just inspection work to find out the cause before putting a new one on the next day and not sanding down to prepare for repainting!
  10. Yes my initial repair took 2 months from reporting it to it actually getting "fixed". Phoned Skoda UK earlier who called me back within a couple of hours to run through a few details. They are updating me again Wednesday as they have to check on a couple of things but I should hear back from my dealer before then who I reported the problem to initially and who sent me to this other garage for the repair. Skoda UK were very sympathetic as the two previous repairs plus inspections to diagnose have left me without my car for 10 days so far AND have resulted in the car travelling 200 miles backwards and forwards with another 60 more to come!
  11. Well just over a month since I've had the car back and you've guessed it - bubble reappeared in exactly the same spot! Absolutely livid and will be calling Skoda UK first thing Monday morning to register the complaint with them.
  12. Well the broken hose turned out to be the sensor and has been replaced and the car is ready to collect! No idea what the first person I spoke to was going on about and nore did the guy who phoned to say it was ready! On the first drop of coolant a few months ago they pressure tested it and all was well so I'll get them to take another look.
  13. I'm guessing some phone use a lot more current than others from reading this. iPhone 6 (and the 5s before that) with every system turned on (wifi, Bluetooth and GPS) will still charge quite quickly while also being used as Sat Nav.
  14. Turbo hose has "gone". A replacement is on order from the Czech Republic as not a stocked item - It's on back order which means I could be without my car for well over a week! Does anyone know if that could cause a misfire and coil light? I've had a drop in coolant recently so guess this could be from the turbo hose?
  15. The dealers now have my car and I've got a brand new Passat organised by Skoda Assist and it was there by the time I arrived at the dealers...great service. The dealer however cannot look at my car until Tuesday which isn't a problem for me as I've been trying to keep my mileage down the last few months and was due to make a 500 mile round trip last night and over the weekend so it's now 500 miles on someone else's car.
  16. Skoda Assist have been out and said it has to go into the garage - Just waiting for them to call back to say a courtsey car has arrived and will be leaving it with them for the weekend.
  17. Well would you believe it I just pulled up in a supermarket car park, the car stalled and now I've got a flashing coil light. Didnt clear on way home. Guess it's into Skoda tomorrow.
  18. Do you have any details of the recall as mine is in for a service in the next couple of months so would like to question them on it.
  19. 1,800 miles into my 2,500 mile trek through Europe last year in my vRS TDI hatch.... I average around 58/59mpg from memory by the time I hit Calais on the return trip.
  20. Video isn't publicEdit - just seen you've edited the post
  21. Lucky bugger - I never got a free one when I bought the car and never received one on either of the previous 2 services. Mind you I have never had to top it up since the day I collected so it would only be sitting there unused.
  22. Sorry to hijack but do you have any idea how to stop the watch tapping you every time it gives you a direction on the Maps app if you are using it for Sat Nav? It's handy for a junction you need to take on the motorway as you get a little tap on the wrist to take the turnoff but if you're navigating around a town centre the tapping on the wrist every 2 seconds is really irritating.
  23. The way they worded it when they said they had replaced rather than repaired seemed to intimate it was a problem they (Skoda) know about and there is a few cases on it. I don't know anymore than that. I had the car detailed just after they "repaired" it last time. The car was swirl free in every area except the spoiler which was absolutely covered in swirls so he gave it a a bit of treatment which removed quite a bit of it but I expect the new one is going to be the same.
  24. Same for me (iPhone 6 plus) but like it that way as it stops any temptation to read whilst driving or see what the notification is.
