  1. Great. It's always good to have some small wins against MIB III ๐Ÿ˜‰
  2. On your centre display select: Vehicle > Background Lighting > Once in the Background Lighting screen, go to the drop-down menu top right and select: Manual (It comes default set to Automatic, which then links it to driving mode. Another dumb-ism of MIB III...) Once you're in Manual, you can permanently select the colour you prefer, and the brightness etc (brightness is bottom right next to the colour selection spectrum).
  3. No, you can still still individually change the colours of the interior LED ambient lighting, no matter the driving mode. There's a setting buried in the menus to not link it to the driving mode. The same thing happened to me when I first got my vehicle and I was cursing it, but after some patient checking through menus and sub-menus I found it could be de-linked permanently.
  4. On the MIB III Columbus youโ€™re looking for software release ver 0278. And yes completely agree. I previously had a MY19 Sportline with Columbus 2.5 and it was far better to use than the new one. Unfortunately I didnโ€™t get a choice about updating it, as that vehicle was written off by an SUV running a red light into me, and the MY21 vehicle is a replacement under insurance.
  5. Yes, there was an update in late 2021. It wonโ€™t change the overall functionality and look and feel of the system. But the update is more stable - mine was locking on mute and sometimes making strange sounds previously, and is now fixed. It was updated for free under warranty by the Skoda dealer.
  6. There's a few threads on here about how bad the MIB III is. If your vehicle is brand new, at least you should have the latest version of software - it's far better than the dog I got on mine a year ago (mine's since been updated by dealer).
  7. The additional torque will not affect the DQ250, it is a strong unit. However, out of the box it is electronically limited to 400Nm and so will top-out at that value without a TCU tune.
  8. The JB1 (or JB4) also sits neatly in the engine bay, between the air intake and battery.
  9. JB1 and JB4 are pretty similar. The JB4 definitely has more adjustability than the JB1, but I note the standard boost values are essentially the same. However, the JB4 requires a cable through the firewall and connects to the OBDII port on the driver's side. I went for the JB1 as I wanted a straight plug and play system, didn't want to faff with threading a cable through the firewall, and wanted to leave my OBD port clear for a more stealth look. The JB1 is also a little cheaper. Lots of details here: https://burgertuning.com/products/jb1-jb4-group-1-vag-tuner Autoinstruct in Australia installed a JB1 on a Mk7 Golf R with some very decent results: I've been really pleased with the JB1 in the Superb 280.
  10. Yep, likewise, I'm just keeping paper copies of my service records (I don't get my car serviced at Skoda anyway).
  11. So apparently OBDeleven can now unlock SFD for MY20+ vehicles (since November 21). Has anyone had any experience with that and I wonder if it can access TSR on the latest vehicles? I would be keen.
  12. I applied some side stripes for something different (stripes for Superb from Seitenstreifen.com).
  13. I still buy the VW screen wash. I like the smell ๐Ÿ™„
  14. Yep, it's actually a good location and keeps the USB-C free in the front.
  15. Well if there is a trick I'll be very interested, but I've checked the dip stick several times since I got the vehicle (having given it a very solid yank each time to get it out) and not had any problems. I suspect it's deliberately designed just to make doubly sure that the dipstick stays secured. But yes you will feel like you're going to break something when you first do it!
  16. Yes it can. I use it for mine. No special formatting required and it all works fine. Just tell your head unit you have a USB for music under media and away it should go seamlessly.
  17. If your car is 2021 it will still be in warranty. Mine was fixed for free as part of the warranty. The MIB 3 issues in mine were so annoying that I made a separate trip to the dealer just to get it done, as mine also otherwise didn't need to be seen by the dealer for anything else, and there were no issues doing that with the dealer. It takes several hours to do the re-flash and upload the new firmware, so they'll need it for the day most likely. But I'm glad I did it, as it seems to have cured the problems.
  18. Yep mine is the same yellow and ridiculously tight. I just give it a slight rotational wiggle in place and then pull like hell upwards. It'll come out without breaking anything.
  19. Yep, MIB 3 is a dog. I had no end of strange issues with mine, the most common being it would spontaneously mute until the car was switched off and the computers went to sleep before restarting it. Other times I had quite loud electronic sounding crackling suddenly coming through the audio. I bit the bullet and had it reflashed with updated firmware by the local Skoda dealer just before Christmas (under warranty). I understand a major revision to the MIB 3 was released by VW in Sep 21. So far since then it has been perfect. Fingers crossed that's permanently fixed the gremlins.
  20. Not game to have an ECU remap on my MY21 206 Sportline due to potential warranty issues, I connected a JB1 and it has worked extremely well, especially in concert with a BMS pedal tuner. Running on 98RON (as always) the acceleration, especially in the 50-110 Km/h leg, is almost startlingly strong.
  21. Yep, that's essentially the situation here. Australia has not mandated full Euro 6 compliance until 2024, so Skoda has elected to use up remaining CJX engines for the Aus market until then (paired with DQ250 DSG). Perfect I say! So what's interesting in the back of my MY21 user manual, is that there are performance figures for the non-Euro 6 engines (ie. the CJX fitted to my vehicle) which show increased torque and acceleration compared to the Euro 6 compliant 206KW versions in other markets.
  22. Maybe in other markets Skoda has reverted to DI engines, but the the Aus-spec 206 engines continue with the CJX version with MPI. Attached is the placard on the side of my MY21 Engine.
  23. Aus delivered MY21 206 Superb Sportline has the CJX engine (just had a look at the plate on the side of my engine). So Multi-Point Injection.
  24. My understanding is that they share essentially the same engine: Direct and Multi-Point injection (ie. both Golf R and 206 Sportline share the EA888 Gen 3). I believe the EA888 Gen 1 and Gen 2 engines were Direct Injection only, and which caused plenty of carbon build-up problems, and were discontinued by time the Golf Mk 7/Superb Mk III arrived in 2015.
  25. MIB3 will have no SD Card slots or CD/DVD slot in the unit in the glove box. It'll also be the one that spontaneously crackles, locks on mute and does other strange things ๐Ÿ™„. I had mine reflashed with an updated software release at the dealer a couple of weeks ago to try and fix it.
