  1. mhhrr .. I'm just going to order the OEM part .. ok ..
  2. Oh .. ok .. that's good to know ! It shows no errors in a standard ECU scan with VCDS.
  3. Initially, AC is switch on and the whining is pretty much there. At 0:16 I'm turning off the AC, idling settles at 800rpm and the whining gets away. It doesn't do this every time AC is switched on, but in the past 3 years it got worse. Is it a failing bearing ?
  4. How come do your RS3s lasted only one summer? Did you get it on trackdays? I've done about 15.000miles with the RS3s and they do look pretty much new. I've bought a set of Sportrack 5s for a Sandero and the ride is fantastic, I couldn't ask more for a regular car IMHO. My other Fabia has Goodyear Efficientgrip Perfomance fitted. Those are good tires as well I can say. The bad thing is that one of four got a puncture in less than 3 months.
  5. I've just read some rummors saying that Polo 9N maxidot board would perfectly fit into the Fabia mk1 instrument cluster component, which sounds pretty good. The downside is that the immo might be a pita if not disabled. Has any body tried this? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. You are correct. It doesn't have a socket and it looks just like an led. I think it is powered in 12V so it wouldn't be much of a deal fitting a standard led IMHO. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. What kind of led is that? I guess mine is blown. Powerty spec..good one:) I've also find a good reasons to clean up the mess underneath the ashtray. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Rs3 or Sportrac 5. I preffer the rs3s. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. I just saw a clip with the new 1.0 litre Octy. It does go up to 200kph. Interesting stuff. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Central locking .. locking but not unlocking .. I had a similar issue .. TBH, I might still have it but I temporary had it sorted somehow. Dumb question, do your windows go up and down when holding the key longer in the door lock ? 2nd, wasn't there an emergency procedure to start the car when the immo or the key was faulty ?
  11. Driving a new car which is under warranty is the perfect solution. If you can afford it, buy it from a dealer, get warranty, repair it under warranty (or better said, have a lot of things replaced meanwhile) and then just sell it and get another new one. Don't get me wrong, I love my slow MK1 8V MPI and hate my other 16v 100bhp one. I'm dreaming of an engine swap, but in financial terms speaking, I think a new MK3 Fabia would be just money well spent. Why complicate things ? Go for a test drive and don't have mercy with that car. If you like it, buy it. I do really think this should be available for any new car, not just for Skoda. Each and every person might like different things when talking about a car. Maybe one common thing is driving these cars, but other than that..are just the minor mods bits and thats that we all do. I like a good sound system and maybe it costs more than the car itself, somebody else might get a bigger turbo and a good remap .. and so on. Not many enjoy or afford (due to several reasons, such as financial, having a job, a family etc) spending lots of hours in the workshop ( and boy .. an old car really needs attention ). A new thing is a new thing. Period. It does worth each and every penny. It's not like you'd be buying an A8L Audi with a 4.2 V8 twin turbo petrol engine to drive it 3 miles alone from home to work just because you want to prove something.
  12. That would be section 46 - Central Conv for electric powered windows cars and Group 35 for cars without powered windows, of course.
  13. I couldn't make it whine today ... there were about 19-20 Celsius degrees outside and all I managed to achieve was condensation on the outside of the windshield.
  14. I will upload a clip later. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. I'd love to have an ashtray light. Do you have a picture or something? The ashtray itself is removable. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. This means my other one should have it? :-/ Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Whaaat? There is an ashtray light? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Anybody here had a problem with the ac compressor whining when running ?
  19. I've just bumped into an add of Ravenol and I tried to do some research about it. It seems that it has a fully synthetic base, which Castrol doesn't seem to and it seems to offer good stuff for the money it costs. Have anyone tried it before ? They seem to have a pretty neat oil finder utility based on the car manufacturer / model / engine type on their main website. It would have been great if it would have had an option for that engine's milage.
