  1. It wasn't a dream, it does exist. And it's absolutely phenomenally gorgeous. But I would say that!
  2. That will be rectified tomorrow morning 🙂
  3. It would appear I could get "[initials] 71 VRS" for a mere £399... should I? 🤔
  4. If all goes to plan... at the dealer tomorrow and in my hands first thing on Wednesday morning 😃. And I even managed to renegotiate the p/x on the current Kodiaq (by roughly another 10%!). Used prices are absolutely mad at the moment.
  5. All the Kodiaq variants are available on Carwow - if you filter by manual, then you won't see the SportLine, L&K or vRS as they only come with DSG boxes. The spare wheel isn't listed as an option on the 7-seat variants because it is now standard, as Kenny R mentioned above. As for the Karoq - that's now only available from stock because of the impending facelift.
  6. Or... https://haynes.com/en-gb/skoda/kodiaq/2016-20-diesel-436492
  7. Does this thread help you...?
  8. It's in Grimsby...! (apologies to everyone still waiting for news)
  9. Whilst I agree with you, I can see that it makes some people feel a little more warm and fuzzy and like they're getting acceptable service from the dealer - haven't been forgotten, if you like.
  10. Agreed. Your dealer should provide regular updates if you ask for them (possibly even if you don't). Mine hasn't exactly been brilliant in that regard, but in all fairness I did say right at the beginning just to let me know when anything happened. Of course, it's entirely possible that the dealership network aren't being kept fully up to date with what's going on by Skoda UK, who themselves may not be getting all the information from the factories / Skoda corporate. There are many links in the chain, and the fact that it (mostly) works under normal circumstances is impressive enough. As for a contingency plan or road to recovery - I'm pretty sure Skoda do have one that covers a whole host of things. Worldwide pandemic combined with industry-wide microchip shortage probably wasn't one of them, but you can bet it will be now. And they do have a plan... stop starting new cars and finish the ones that are already started. Push everything else back. It's not great, but it's about the only thing they can do.
  11. I've had to use one... bit messy, but it got me home and to the tyre shop the next day. That was in a previous car... the tyres on my current Kodiaq seem to be pretty indestructible. Both the front tyres were replaced due to tread at the last service a few months ago, but both also had nails in that must have been there a long time (I knew about one, it had been there at least 18 months!). So yes, would rather the gunk + extra boot space in a Kodiaq, personally. But can see why others might not. And there's no saying the tyres on 20" rims will be quite as sturdy as those I have now, admittedly.
  12. Unfortunately, price has nothing to do with it at this point. And no, you won't have any luck buying anything else - new cars are like Dodo droppings right now, hence why used prices are shooting through the stratosphere.
  13. Looks like it is standard on the VRS as well... hadn't realised that. To be honest, I prefer having the space under the variable boot floor to hide stuff, especially as I can't use the luggage cover when the dog crate is in the boot (most of the time).
  14. The UK specs don’t come with a spare wheel, and having checked the configuator it looks like it is only a factory option on the 5 seat SE - not available on any of the other variants (apart from the SE, we can only get 7 seats).
  15. Yeah... would have loved to have swapped to the Enyaq, but just not sure I'm ready to go electric with our main car just yet. Also, really didn't like the teeny tiny dash. Every* other electric car has huge display screens behind the wheel. *ok, not every other one. But comparable cars. As for price... the i4 M50 looks like a steal when compared with an Enyaq!
  16. You can, but... 🤔 I'm getting really twitchy now. The Elbe Highway turned up at Sheerness today, and I'm hoping my new bear is/was on it. But then I just drove past the local VW dealer and they were unloading cars off a transporter... which also had a couple of new Skodas on it (a Karoq and a Scala by the look of it) - both race blue, which caused me to look twice. For all I know, it's still sat in Emden. Hopefully not...
  17. I think that's a little unfair. I'm old, yet I didn't choose the L&K 🙂 If you want sporty styling but don't want/need the engine in the VRS, go for a SportLine. If you want the performance, go for the VRS. If you want a high-spec car with lots of toys, go for the L&K. Adding the toys to the SportLine/VRS gets very expensive very quickly.
  18. It doesn't matter which variant you get - the spare wheel will sit until the variable boot floor and the third row of seats. The boot evidently no longer becomes variable, because the lower bit is taken up by the wheel, and the third row of seats lifts up slightly to make it possible to get the wheel in and out. I really don't think it is a deciding factor when choosing the variant. As for which one to go for... I'm biased as my VRS will hopefully be with me in a couple of weeks 😎.
  19. Have you had it serviced by a garage before? If so, it should say on the job sheet / invoice how much oil they put in...
  20. Oh, and I don't know what the usual price is on the continent... but €60k for that new facelift one (3rd advert) sounds very expensive compared to what I paid for mine.
  21. Look at the adverts you mentioned. The most obvious differences are at the front - the thinner headlights and angular grill. The rear lights are also a slightly different shape, but that's not quite so obvious. I would be very surprised if you come across any used facelift cars yet - it simply hasn't been around long enough, even for dealers to be selling demonstrators.
  22. I know I'm digging up a really old thread here (and apologies for that)... but I'm pondering the same question now. So, what do you all think... running boards on a vRS - yes or no? From a practical point of view, I don't put much stuff on the roof (and I will have a tow bar for a rear bike rack this time around, so roof loads should be pretty much nil). From an aesthetic point of view... my concern is that it will just end up looking like a BMW or Mercedes SUV, as they all seem to have running boards. I may be in the minority, but for me that wouldn't be a good thing! Despite that all pointing to a resounding 'no' and 'why are you even asking!?' - I still quite like the idea... I'm just not sure why 🤔.
  23. As you have probably noticed - the first two are the pre-facelift diesel RS. They both have LED headlights as that was standard, but not matrix LED as that is only available on the new facelift models. The last one is a new facelift petrol RS - really surprised to see one advertised to be honest! As it still has the transport protection on, I can only guess the dealer ordered it for stock or it is a cancelled customer order. For me, there is no choice - the new one is the way to go if you can afford it.
  24. That's quite a large shopping list... and I would guess the chances of finding one with all those options is probably quite low. To try and answer some of your questions... Kodiaqs have always had full LED headlights on higher-spec variants. As far as I know, none have ever used Xenon headlights. I think more variants have LED headlights now - with the higher-spec ones having full-matrix LED. The petrol RS has only been around since July this year - highly unlikely that you will find a used one for sale as deliveries of them are only just starting now. The virtual cockpit came in a couple of years ago - but I'm pretty sure the steering wheel only changed with the facelift this year. I think drive profiles have been standard on all models in the UK, no idea about other markets. DCC is an optional extra on everything (again, in the UK) except the new RS (and maybe the old RS too, no idea about that). The sound generator - love it or hate it - is a standard thing on the RS. Hope that helps!
  25. Had a call from my dealer just now... apparently my new Kodiaq is sat in Germany, awaiting a boat over here. So hopefully I should have it in a few weeks 😁.
