The Columbus MIB 3 has gone silent?
Yeah... the point at which you're convinced you've just blown your speakers, especially the first time 😱.

Anyone else ordered a new Kodiaq?
Now spec the RS3 up to the same level of kit as the VRS (especially as I’m guessing you’ve ticked pretty much everything to get it to £52k), then come back and tell me they are pretty much the same price. And I’m completely ignoring the fact you’ll never get 7 seats in an RS3 😜.

? Base price is north of £54k...

1st service booked - this’ll be fun. Not.
Welcome to the Internet, you must be new here 😂. (</sarcasm> tag just in case it is required, you never know!) Your point is mostly valid... but there are some of us who try to give credit where credit is due as well (see also my thread about picking my car up, where I clearly give the dealer a shout out for the excellent service received).

Personally, I'm good with that. It would be a bit much if you ask me...

Anyone else ordered a new Kodiaq?
Off-topic: You got me wondering about how many 'stock' cars there might be around now, especially considering people are still waiting for orders (seems unfair to build stock cars and not customer orders)... anyway, you have to admire the chutzpah of some dealers: https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202109107210083 How much!?!!?

Aye... but overall, personally I think there's more in the + column than the - one. For you music conundrum, my previous go-to on small form factor USB sticks would be a SanDisk UltraFit. Unfortunately, they still don't seem to do a USB-C version - no idea if anyone else does. I'm not sure that's the link you intended 😂

You're over-simplifying things there... Skoda don't take the microchips and make all the components. I'm guessing that whoever makes the Canton sound systems and Side-assist sensors/radars/whatever cannot supply the bits to Skoda because they don't have enough chips. I would guess that the problem is probably exaggerated by the fact that Skoda will be behind just about all the other VAG brands (except maybe Seat!) when it comes to priorities - so VAG will be getting their suppliers to use their limited chip supplies to build the components that go into the other brands' cars, or even just directing the common components to the other brands' factories. You can't just think in terms of Skoda making decisions and acting alone here, there will be a lot of decisions being made for them by the VAG board...

New matrix headlights
A million times this! But if anyone care about my subjective experience - the matrix lights in the new Kodiaq are far superior than the LED lights in the old Kodiaq, even before you get to the matrix functionality. They are brighter and throw light much further.

Retrofit USB-C by mirror
That's what it is there for. I use it for a dash cam, and it is ignition switched - no delays or anything, turns on and off with the ignition. Edit: Of course, if you retrofit it, it would all depend on how it gets wired up as to whether or not the above holds true.

Can you replace a vrs 245bhp 2.0lt tdi with a 2.0 tdi 190 bhp engine
This begs the question... why? Sorry I can't answer your question, but I'm sure I'm not the only one who will come across this thread and want to know the backstory to your enquiry!

Iphone as a hotspot not connecting
Out of curiosity, why...? Does the data run out at some point? Anyway, to answer the question - have you tried enabling 'Personal Hotspot' > 'Maximise Compatibility'?

Black Skoda badges
The new badge is different - there is less silver on it (to my eyes) and a chunky black border around it. I'm happy enough with the badging on the car - as I said, it would have been nice to have black badges all around, but it's one of those things that really doesn't bother me nor does it spoil my enjoyment of driving the car whatsoever.

Black Skoda badges
Unless you're planning on replacing the vRS badge on the grille with a black one, I wouldn't bother. I don't understand why they didn't do black badges all round, but to have them mis-matched at one end would look odd. All in my own opinion, of course 🙂.

Anyone else ordered a new Kodiaq?
I still have it turned off for everyday use... but when hooning it last night in Sport mode, it wasn't really what I was concentrating on. To be honest, it's more when you're in traffic or round town that it is comical and/or annoying. When you're on the open road it's less intrusive. I'd not miss it if it wasn't there - but at least you can turn it off because I certainly wouldn't want it there all the time.

Sportline rear bumper
Don't know for sure - but it could well be. I don't think the lower bumper section was changed at all, and a cursory look at 'before and after' photos shows no obvious differences.

Anyone else ordered a new Kodiaq?
I did... and it did. And today, after 3 months and almost 1700 miles of running in, I put it into Sport and let rip for the first time on a nice quiet road. Let's just say I'm still smiling 😊.

Mirror Link
The only thing I would add to this discussion is that wireless CarPlay can eat your battery for breakfast... so unless you have a wireless charging pad to put your phone on, I'd just continue plugging the cable in.

It could mean they've halted production to move the factory... 😂 Hope it is good news for you - you've been a lot more patient than I would have been.

Flat Battery New Car
Yes… but in the case of my Garmin cams, I still take the SD card out (or plug the entire cam into my laptop) as transfer to the app is painfully slow.
-
Seeing is believing...
Yes, mine were in the boot and fitted by the dealer. Hmmm. Not convinced - the trims are plastic and pretty firmly/snugly attached. I don't see how they would move whilst driving and damage the wheel. More likely the wheel was damaged by trying to remove the cover in some odd way, rather than how specified in the manual using the little tool. Or when the covers were fitted by the dealer. Or in transit, and the dealer figured no-one would ever know 'cos the aero covers would, well, cover it up.

Flat Battery New Car
Or, dare I say it again, specify the USB-C port in the mirror housing and just plug it in yourself. Not an option for an existing car, obviously! As for dash cams that support multiple phones - Garmin. Also better than Nextbase for many other reasons IMHO.
-
Seeing is believing...
One and a half, at least... I don't dislike them, I just like the wheels without. But as I've yet to get any caps/nut covers, I may well end up putting the aero covers back on after it next gets a clean (hopefully this weekend if the weather is decent).

May very well depend on the dealer. I certainly didn't get asked.
