2.0 TSI Engine Covers.
If my car goes in for its service in a few weeks and ends up with a new engine cover, I’ll push the car home so as to not ruin what must be the best engineered part on the whole damn thing, given the length of time it has taken to get the replacements sorted 🤣.

Both my Kodiaqs have had a button on the wheel for driver aids - admittedly it opens a menu on the dash to then turn individual ones on/off, but I’m not sure you’d want individual buttons on the wheel for each!

Don't push too hard... it's actually for the ejector seat! In all seriousness, your description is a bit - how can I put this nicely? - difficult to follow. How about you post a photo and label the bit you're on about? Edit: Are you on about the lower glove box (H in the diagram) and the knob for opening the air flow (text below)?

PSA: Servicing / Maintenance Schedules & Prices
I've no idea - first step is to put your reg in, so it knows what variant you have. Whether or not it then tailors the options for you, or they're just generic ones, I have no idea as I only have one data point to go from. Maybe run through it yourself and see what it says...? Oh, and should have mentioned - they're all 'estimated prices', to leave a little wiggle room for the dealer I guess 😉.

PSA: Servicing / Maintenance Schedules & Prices
Running through the online service booking tool on Skoda's website, and it's changed since last year. Now it gives various options for 'Additional Service Items' and 'Scheduled & Unscheduled Maintenance', so I figured people might like to know what's recommended when and for how much (based on a vRS in Gloucester, so I guess prices will vary depending on your spec and location)... The first category only has changing the brake fluid, which it says should be done every 2 years @ £63.17 Then you have brakes... Front Pads - £327.58 Front Pads + Discs - £709.42 Rear Pads - £290.76 Rear Pads + Discs - £506.88 Finally... DSG Oil Change (hint box says every 40,000 miles) - £361.09 4x4 Oil Change (hint box says every 3 years/30,000 miles) - £122.03

Latest OTA issues?
Always been there. If you manually zoom the map with the right steering wheel dial, while the scale is still there, clicking that dial/button will set it back to auto. If the symbol is already there, then that means it is in auto mode.

I don't think it's adding any additional steps... at the moment you either have to press the button, then press the screen - or press the button multiple times. What would be 'smart' is if they (middle one at least) were context sensitive - drive mode when you start the engine, then volume if there is media playing, or zoom if you've got full screen map. You'd still be able to cycle through the functions manually, of course, but changing to the appropriate one automatically. And the ability to toggle that behaviour on/off in the settings because not everyone will want/like it.

I disagree - that looks a whole lot more cluttered than my Kodiaq's VC. Dials inside dials (which don't actually show any different information that what's in the middle of the dials anyway). Words ('Consumption' and 'Range') that aren't necessary. The only thing that I see in that photo that I really wish my Kodiaq had is the physical trip reset button!

I don't get this fascination with stupidly big screens in front of the driver. As long as it shows the necessary information in a clear manner, then it really doesn't need to be any bigger. If you have too much information presented in front of the driver, it just becomes distracting. What hasn't been mentioned anywhere, and I'm quite surprised by the lack of, is a HUD... not something I particularly care about, but they do seem to be all the rage these days.

It's one of the multi-function dials (probably the middle one). I assume you mean 'auto hold'? If that's more difficult to turn off because it's through the infotainment, then +1 for me - the wife keeps turning it off when driving my car and doesn't turn it back on... which leads to the car moving off again when I don't expect it to. Alternatively, it may well be on the gear stick on the steering wheel. Or it might be under the light controls... zooming in to the high-res picture shows a symbol that looks like it might be the auto hold... Yeah, I don't like that idea either. Touch controls like that are no good when you should be concentrating on the road - a physical button you can manipulate without looking at is much safer as well as easier. I don't know how you can tell that from that photo - there's every likelihood it goes up and forward from that position, and will have the cubby underneath. No, there are definitely two buttons visible if you open the full size picture and zoom in. Probably not. Again, agree that a nice physical dial you can manipulate without thinking and without looking is far safer/better. The interiors of Skodas have been stuck in a time warp for some time - very 'traditional'. I'm definitely in the camp of that's no bad thing because I know how to work the damn thing. But this looks like a pretty decent effort to modernise it without going down the route of sticking everything into the central touchscreen interface, which is what they did on the Enyaq (and VW ID cars) and just doesn't work. Fortunately it looks like also haven't gone down the road of the 'touch' buttons on the steering wheel, which I also hate (and don't think work too well - and I'm not the only one looking at reviews of recent Golfs etc.). It's a compromise between old and new, and I'm hopeful that Skoda will have got most of it right. There are always a few trade-offs with compromises, and some people will love everything, others will love nothing about it.

To be fair, it's not all that much of a surprise when you look at the interior of the current Octavia and the Enyaq. Definitely follows the theme... Agree it does look nice - and at least the air con controls are still physical dials rather than only being available through the touch screen.

My one complaint with my new kodiaq
Doesn't make any difference. It has nothing to do with the engine management (or at least isn't entirely down to that) - drive the Audi equivalent with the same engine and the DSG is a lot more responsive. It's one of the ways in which VAG differentiate between the brands these days, because too many people have been shifting 'down' the chain from Audi > VW > Skoda due to cost etc. and the fact that Skoda is now a respected brand offering very good value (or, at least it was until a couple of years ago - now I'm not so sure).

I've said it many times... it's unbearable at times and not at all what you want/expect in a mildly warm SUV like the vRS. It does make the vRS a very relaxed GT car though - it's absolutely excellent and feels at home on the autoroutes and roads in France. And to be fair, when in sport mode, it was pretty good fun over the Col du Grand St-Bernard 🙂. However... never had an issue with my old 1.4TSi, but then I guess I had a whole different expectation of how the DSG should perform in that car, and it matched it perfectly.

Off-road mode for 2WD?
Have you found a single piece of information that tells you it is possible...? If you do get an answer, and it is anything other than "Off-Road mode is only available on 4x4 variants", I will be amazed.

As others have said - in Vehicle > Settings > Lights you can change from LH to RH traffic (possibly only with LED lights, but the setting has been there on both my Kodiaqs). You will then get a warning every time you start the engine to remind you. Settings > Units allows you to change to km and kph - essential if you have virtual cockpit because it doesn’t display both mph and kph like the traditional dials. As for the cruise control, I had real issues with it thinking I was undertaking when in France on my 18-plate Edition, but not once did the new vRS moan the other week when in France.

Yes, with most of the way there at 110kph - weather wasn't great. I've now done just shy of 15k miles in just under 22 months... but 2k miles of that was in the last 10 days! Indeed, but I don't (usually) do very many miles. I get through a tank of petrol a month at most. Anything on the motorway returns around 40mpg, but then I don't drive like an idiot. Still not sure why I bought the vRS in all honesty - it spends most of the time in 'Eco'. Call it a last hurrah before going electric, if you like.

Is that 1670 since new? If so, I'd expect the consumption to continue getting a bit better... Just got back from a week in Chamonix, and the vRS did 40mpg on the way there and back, but considerably less when we took a trip over the Grand St Bernard Pass 😉. I think the overall average since new is probably high 20s though, given most of my journeys are only a few miles.

It’s not the sort of thing that can be retrofitted, and certainly not to a 2WD version.

Tyre Pressures
The vehicle manufacturer tells me tyre pressures for two people with no luggage, and fully loaded. There is no specification for something in between.
