  1. The matrix lights have it by definition, so it won’t get called out as a separate thing with them. Interestingly, the brochure I have from July 2021 (the first facelift brochure) states that the ‘SE’ has Light Assist. But when you look on the website now, there’s no mention of it on the ‘SE Drive’. I’d assume it’s probably another chip shortage casualty - a lot of standard kit and options across the range has disappeared since that first brochure.
  2. I’m sure you could look at the Skoda website yourself… but they all have LED matrix headlights as standard these days except for the base SE trim. I am, of course, assuming you are in the UK. If not, no idea about any other market, but I’d guess it’s a similar situation.
  3. Daft question... but what iPhone do you have? I'm assuming it's an 8 or later, but you never know... 😉. Definitely face up, top in first (i.e. right way up as you're looking at it) is best. It also doesn't start charging immediately, can take a good few seconds to get going. Case or no case makes no difference in my experience, but case can be better for large wireless pads (like in a car) because the phone sits flat on it (rather than there being a small gap caused by the camera bump). MagSafe or other smaller pads don't suffer from that particular issue because the camera bump hangs over the side of the pad.
  4. There definitely seems to be a divide between European manufacturers (VAG, BMW, Mercedes) preferring plug-in hybrids, and Toyota/Honda preferring self-charging ones. But there are a few (e.g. Kia, Renault) who seem to be doing both…
  5. I disagree. If they sell a car that advertises ‘traffic sign recognition’ as a feature in the UK, then it has to function in the UK or they would fall foul of the Consumer Rights Act. It doesn’t matter if they have to offer it as a feature or not due to safety regulations, if they do offer it then it has to work.
  6. No. Pretty sure there was a thread on here about model year changes - quite possibly with the introduction of the facelift version - where it was said it was being removed, almost certainly as a cost-cutting measure. So I very much doubt there is a part number for the facelift model if it never existed in the first place. The engine cover that is missing from the 2.0TSI engines, or were removed from early facelift deliveries through that recall, is an entirely separate thing as toot says.
  7. Ooooh... take my money now 🤣. It won't happen, but I'd love to see the vRS get the hybrid power train from the Touareg R.
  8. After weeks of it not doing it (or beeping once and then shutting up for the rest of the journey)... it went absolutely crazy over the weekend again. Will be really interested to hear whether a software update solves the problem.
  9. No. And it's probably a good idea to do this on a used car anyway (hopefully the dealer will have done it, but there's no harm in you doing it just in case 😉).
  10. Mine throws exactly the same error after pretty much every software update (of which there was one this week). Solved by either resetting the infotainment as you describe... or just leaving it and it works the next time. As I use CarPlay exclusively, it never bothers me. But this and the other thread about software train versions got me thinking - are there updates that only the dealer can apply, or are they all available OTA? I know with the Enyaq, they all (except relatively new ones) had to be updated by a dealer to ME3 (or something), after which they could get OTA updates...
  11. Mine stopped doing it for a while... then started again the other day... and hasn't done it since. It's all a bit random - but there's a nagging feeling in the back of my mind that says it's something to do with the Lane Assist side of things. Reason for that is after it has moaned at me a few times, there have been multiple occasions where Lane Assist has been disabled in the menu and I've had to re-enable it. Don't know if it is something as stupidly simple as needing to clean the windscreen because there's a spec of dirt in the way of the LA camera... or if there's a fault with the camera (but you'd expect it to log those faults and therefore be visible to the dealer)... or if some software update caused this (certainly didn't have this issue for the first year of owning the car). Only thing I know for certain is that it's just a bit annoying when it happens and there's no discernible pattern that can be used to pinpoint a cause.
  12. If someone bought that new for anywhere near £26k, they got the best deal ever. Canton, tow bar, sunroof, full winter pack, family pack... looks like it had every option possible ticked (except area view!). List price would easily have been north of £35k, possibly closer to £37k if my mental maths is at all accurate. Also, going off what I sold my 1.5 Edition for, £26k from a dealer sounds entirely reasonable given the continued inflated price of used cars. But as they say, there is always a deal to be done. Edit: Ooops, that's not the tow bar release in the last picture, so maybe it doesn't have that. 🤦‍♂️
  13. No, it won't. As @w82 said, it cuts out when the revs get too low (so that it doesn't stall the car) in a manual - or when you depress the clutch. So it won't bring the car to a halt like it does in an auto.
  14. It still lists it as standard on the L&K page - but yes, no mention in the options page (there's also no mention of Blind Spot Detection in the options, despite still featuring on the "driver assistance" page towards the front).
  15. Traffic Jam Assist is effectively an extension of Lane Assist rather than ACC (i.e. it allows Lane Assist to function at low speed), although it 'combines' the two functions. ACC on its own will bring the car to a stop if the traffic in front slows and stops (and start again automatically within a certain time) - but it won't keep it in lane during stop/start/slow moving traffic like TJA will. Without TJA, Lane Assist is only active at speeds > 40mph. https://www.skoda-storyboard.com/en/press-releases/inspiring-safety-technology-new-skoda-superb-innovative-assistance-systems-improved-safety-comfort/attachment/su_tech_007_traffic_jam_assist-2/
  16. First thing to do is check that what you're plugging in works in another 12V socket in another car... and also getting a 20A fuse (even though it shouldn't make any difference to your testing). If the fuse was blown, and replacing it doesn't solve the issue, then there must be an issue somewhere else - sound to me like there is a wiring fault somewhere. Whether this was caused by the previous owner, never worked, or something else, shouldn't really matter... but I'd get it looked at sooner rather than later and without doing anything (other than replacing the fuse) yourself.
  17. In the two years since the launch of the facelift version, the vRS and L&K have risen in price by approx. 10.5%. But at the other end of the scale, the cheapest version (SE Drive now vs. SE then, so not exactly a like for like comparison) has gone up by over 25%.
  18. I used to get 40mpg+ on longer journeys in my 1.4 Kodiaq… and it coped just fine going through the Massif Central and up some Pyrenean cols. I can still get around 40mpg in the vRS on longer journeys, if I drive like a nun. But it’s usually more like low 30s… or low 20s on very short town trips. Driving style will make a bigger difference than engine choice.
  19. Same fittings then… so I wonder what’s been changed 🤷‍♂️. Fortunately, I took mine off before it went in for its service last year, so it is somewhere in the garage. If I get chance I will dig it out tomorrow and see if I can spot any differences vs your photos.
  20. Don't suppose there's a part number on it? Also, if you do remove it to look for one, how does it attach? I assume it'll have to attach in the same way, otherwise it's not a simple job to fit new ones to existing cars, as the mounting points would need to be changed.
  21. I do like that blue.. gives a really nice contrast with the chrome bits. Much nicer than a solid red as the free colour imho.
  22. That's part of the 'Travel Assist' function, rather than ACC itself. And you can turn it off. I agree that it's a PITA - it would be much better if it lowered the speed to the limit but didn't increase the speed if you're going under the limit... or maybe lowered it if you get to a lower limit (through a town or through roadworks on the motorway for example), but then put it back to what you had set it to, rather than the limit, when you get out the other side. But that's far too complicated and there are probably far too many edge cases to make that sort of thing safe, so it's a 'at the limit' or turn it off option, which means it's turned off in my car.
  23. If they just altered the throttle response, then that would be fine... but unfortunately it also puts the gearbox into sport mode (as well as everything else on a vRS, such as DCC and the fake noise etc.), which means it hangs onto lower gears for longer. It would be nice if the 'drive' option in the driving profiles (eco/sport/normal/etc.) was split out into 'throttle' and 'gearbox', so that you could have a sporty throttle response without driving around at 30mph in second gear (it's not quite that bad, but you get the point). Probably too much for most people to want or need though, so it'll never happen.
  24. Wow... if my dealer had tried to hold onto it for that long, I'd have broken into their compound and stolen it by now 🤣
  25. ...until they reveal the price! The current Superb PHEV (218hp) is approx. 12.5% more than the 200hp petrol version (in Sportline+ trim, anyway - in SE Tech, it's 23% more than the only petrol engine available). That would likely make a PHEV Kodiaq vRS nudge a £60k base price, taking into account normal price rises between now and when it will be launched, and then the extra for the PHEV drivetrain.
