  1. Easily available aftermarket, even on Amazon.
  2. Do you know which code reading system was used?
  3. The lambda sensor isn’t doing anything at that point as it is too cold, I am surprised there were no glow plug fault codes.
  4. My brain was foggy, post COVID, what I was thinking was not four door in two door.
  5. But it must be a four door PQ34 platform seat.
  6. I think it is really low like 8Nm, 25Nm will pull the thread and that will make you very unhappy.
  7. Compression check if you have already had a black code read.
  8. I can't think of a simple way.
  9. A witness on the BBC just said "flamethrower" and there is only one source of that type of flame. Even if it was a pure ICE car that started it, an EV turned a simple car fire into a disaster. Now imagine 1500 EV's on fire all together.
  10. My motor trade insurance broker of 40 years, dropped his A4 in this morning (usual rear wiper motor failure) and I asked him. He said yes partly because modern cars are so complex but also because an EV, if it gets hit, is written off by the insurer for far less damage due to the complexity of moving a damaged EV around, insurers are naturally risk averse. I should imagine Luton Airport will concentrate their minds. He also said that instead of getting a new A4 every three years as he has done since 95, he is sticking with his 2 Litre petrol I convinced him to buy three years ago to get out of Diesel.
  11. Everyone's car insurance is soaring to cover the increased costs of EV's, yet another unfair EV subsidy.
  12. These are just the trailers for the main feature. I read a chap coming in to land saw two tenders dealing with one car and then... no car park, so that means either bad firefighting or something they could not put out. Question, how long before EV's are banned from multi story car parks? Fiasco coming to a town near you soon.
  13. It isn’t a Skoda problem, it is a VAG wide Schaeffler group problem brought on by weight saving machining around the mounting which is just too thin but hey, the CO2 reduction of the weight saving is “saving the planet” 🙄
  14. We tried the repair kit, it lasted a few days, now we only fit genuine mechs, approx 2 a month.
  15. That is the DQ200 Mechatronic unit weeping. We did a 2011 Octavia last week where the accumulator did it’s usually part trick but slowly instead of the traditional BANG and slowly lost all its fluid (the mech holds exactly 1 litre) and the car came to a halt.
  16. With the BMN or CGEA, yes.
  17. It is integral with the master cylinder reservoir, usually this symptom means the concentric release bearing is failing, we always do the master cylinder first and when that fails to rectify it, the return damper and after that doesn’t work, give up and pull the box.
  18. Have you still got the passengers seat?
  19. A sort of slushy snowflake?
  20. What happens when it is 15 years old and some spotty oik is trying to get it going when the batteries are dead and they work on it like only spotty oiks can?
  21. In a Benz you can tailgate and flash people out of the way shouting "I'm in a Mercedes, get out of my way..." and get away with it, do that in a Skoda and people call you names.
  22. On our roads there is... on a recent brainwashing course I was required to attend, there were three victims there who had been prosecuted for doing 21mph in a 20. I was there for 36 in a 30, previously I reviewed the video footage from my mirror cam and noted my actual speed I was being flagellated for and I thought, "OK, I'll take the 36!"😆
  23. What is the acronym for there is too much to read there and I will lose the will to live... that's it TLDR.
