  1. Pre cat is 04E 906 262 BH and post cat 04E 906 262 BJ, stick to Bosch or genuine. No heat should be required to release the sensor, it isn't common for the boss thread to Gall but if it does, there isn't much hope of saving the boss and a new one would need welding in. When the sensor releases, it will go with crack and then run smooth, almost finger tight straight away, if it feels tight as it is just moving with an almost rubbery sensation, stop and try and retighten it but it will probaly be too late. After the sensor initailay cracks away, it would not hurt to spray some penetrating oil in the gap.
  2. What is the VIN and the fault code?
  3. With it being a 2020 release platform it is probaly almost impossible to do without ODIS and two factor authentication, you can't even do the rear pads without t!
  4. The gauge is programmed to get to 90 by a real 77 and stay there until a real 117, only viewing the data blocks in the ECU will tell the truth
  5. Quite often they take more than the service sheet says, It's what the dipstick says is that matters.
  6. You should be ashamed of such range, go electric and fret all the way there but not make it back, save the planet and set fire to Scotland. 🤣
  7. The wire used in Lambda sensors is very difficult to solder and solder is not a good idea anyway, best to replace the sensor.
  8. Summer, what's summer? Ohh that thing called Global heating and the Climate catastrophe, yeh I know 🐮💩
  9. One of the lambda sensors heaters is the most likely reason, Z19 or Z29
  10. I have just had a set of top end carpet ones delivered for my 1U VRS by Premier Products in Mansfield
  11. It should do but they are available easier than that
  12. Do you know why they only have one rear fog?
  13. Possibly a heater flap motor.
  14. On the Wolfsburg tour I asked a guide why they only put 5 litres of fuel in a Golf 3 (it was a while back) instead of filling it up to say 50 litres. He said “haf du seen ze price of gas? 45 litres more per car uber 5 million cars a year ist big Deutschmark”, as I said, it was a while back but take that to the modern day 2022 production of 8.72 million and a guesstimate of 60 litres more fuel per vehicle on average across the range at a discount rate of say €1.7 a litre so circa 89 million Euros, yeh it’s a few bob; about one tenth of VW Germanys total debt 🤑 So perhaps they are shipped with low charge to save money? It is the same with fastener head size, why drop from, for example, 17mm SW for an M10 to 16mm SW? Say that is on average a gram per fastener and there are circa 1000 fasteners per car, that is 1 kilo of high grade steel per car times 8.72 million at €700 per tonne, you do the math as a yank would say.
  15. The truth will come out in the wash by virtue of time, I would say in the next 30 or so years. A good point I can think of is IF heretic non climate change believers like myself are proven right and the world's population suddenly realises that trillions of whichever currency you can think of has been wasted, there is going to be a bit of a backlash...
  16. And all the time there are people driving in ULEZ zones in compliant vehicles which have had their systems deleted and so pollute far worse than a car from the 80's
  17. Don't get me started on main dealers! I did the first brake fluid change on a very long standing customers new purchase A3 last week, a service was was included in his deal but not the brake fluid change, so I did it and he took it there for the service; they refused to clear the dash service warning as I had done the brake fluid even though we are an independent repairer with VAG and access to the Digital Service System even though I had entered the job as an additional task and printed out the certificate. If Sytner Audi Nottingham ever want to know why we do more Audi's than anything else, I say look in the mirror! Bunch of Cntsu 🙄
  18. They would fit but blank the airflow to the intercooler.
  19. Presented with this I would certainly go for the crank speed sensor 04L 906 433 B first with a good conviction it would solve the problem
  20. Disconnect the battery for while, I have known the software in the Golf 5 type convenience unit to crash and shut down the left side completely or just the rear door which is controlled by LIN BUS from the front door controller which is CAN BUS controlled from the convenience unit.
  21. The G28 sensors are known to suffer heat related failure and not to leave a code which makes them harder to diagnose. With the symptoms mentioned and especially the rev counter behaviour, it makes it certain for me without doing direct diagnosis such as logging the G28 signal. Also, the G28 is just about the only sensor that will cut an engine instantly if you disconnect it when running.
  22. Crankshaft speed sensor (G28) failure is a common hot engine problem and almost never generates a fault code, being attentive to the rev confer reading during butt clenching failure can be very helpful.
  23. It doesn't, that's the point of the contant drive modulated compressors used. The fist test is a code read, if nothing comes up then the most likely fault is the compressor because they are **** by Sanden and we fit Denso which last longer.
