  1. Mmmm. My 1st take away in over a year was a curry last week & this has got me hankering after a Chinese which is my favourite style of food. Can't wait to eat out again. We have at least 6 family birthday meal nights out to catch up with plus a whole load of other gastronomic visits to make.
  2. Try turning AC off. If noise disappears then it could be the compressor clutch / belt tension. Noise seems to be coming from left front side of the engine & if it's speed related then look at the belts & pulleys. Engine mileage? Is it manual or auto?
  3. So the question is, do you have butter with your boiled spuds? For me a boiled spud has to have some salted butter to go with.
  4. Tonight's tea was Kung Po duck legs with salad. Think I may of overdone the salad a bit.
  5. I did say it was my version of! Even though I followed Delia's Yorkshire pud recipe to the letter it stayed a bit flat & didn't rise as much as I would have liked. It had a crispy bottom & top with soft centre though & the bangers were - err banging.
  6. Tonight was Toad in the Hole - well, my version of it. Avec mixed veg & gravy. Half left for tomorrow's lunch. Sausages are pork shoulder with pepper & ginger.
  7. Looks tasty. Think I have some chicken thighs in the freezer. Might try & replicate that tomorrow night. It's that or 2/3 bowls of Fruit & Fibre for the whole of tomorrow to make up for the junk I had tonight. Lockdown weight is proving hard to shift
  8. Slid off the healthy eating wagon tonight. 2 x mini Chicago Peperoni pizza's & 2 x Almond Magnum's washed down with some Sauvignon Blanc. Feeling a bit icky now.........
  9. Looks like my front wing L&K badges are trying to come off by themselves! The lower curly bit has come loose on one side so I'm now considering removing them as they keep getting caught on cloths when washing the car. As for your rear end (so to speak), I think I favour some badging but not too much, to keep people guessing.
  10. It could be a bunch of reasons but it sounds very similar to the "Saw toothing" problem I & many others had on S2 Superbs which resulted in an on/off resonance at 60-70mph caused by cheaper tyre makes &/or wheel geometry problems. Check the tyre wear, tyre pressure (front & back) & have the front & rear wheel tracking / camber checked. Out of whack tracking / camber can result in tyre rumbling which is more audible on certain types of road types e.g. concrete sections of motorway. A 4 wheel alignment & tyre change finally sorted my 2010 S2. Not sure if this problem has been carried over to current S3 models but it is entirely possible for a similar problem to exist - especially if cheaper tyres are fitted. My current S3 rear wheel camber was out of whack which resulted in dramatic inside rear tyre wear down to the canvas & a slow puncture while the outside tyre tread depth was still at 3-4mm so don't take anything for granted. A 4-wheel alignment has hopefully cured the problem. It could also be a rumbling wheel bearing - mileage? Jack the car up & spin each wheel & see if you can detect any noises or grumbling. However, wheel bearing noise is normally a more continuous rumbling & not an on / off resonance.
  11. Tonight was battered Chish & fips with peas, slightly overdone alpine fries, Tartare & tom sauce.
  12. Try using some rubber gloves for extra grip on the fitting & pull straight back. I had similar problems when I did mine. In the end it's a case of controlled brute force but the gloves give you better purchase on the fitting. My wife's marigolds did the job for me.
  13. Tonight's tea was 1/2 garlic chicken, crinkle cut chips, mixed veg & gravy.
  14. Mmmm sausages. I've taken to having a sausage sarny for breakfast. I understand charcoal is good for the digestive system & acts like a catalytic converter for farts so you're fine
  15. Yep.. However, being Black, mine warms up quicker than a gas stove even on mildly sunny days. Thank god for the AC. Just ordered a new pollen & K&N engine air filter for mine. It also badly needs a wash after the Sahara sand that we got last week.
  16. Have them on my 2016 L&K. Previous owner probably spec'd them as an option. Never used them as I sit in the front & rear passengers are few & far between.
  17. If related to pressing the clutch pedal then it could be the clutch thrust bearing. If related to the accelerator pedal then then perhaps a squeaky alternator, water pump or lose belt. Video of noise would be helpful.
  18. After no breakfast or lunch, dodging snow showers & freezing my butt off helping my son & girlfriend put up a shed on their allotment, I decided that a heartwarming stew was needed for tonight's tea. 10 x lamb neck rounds (scrag end of neck), browned & simmered for 6 hours in a cast iron pot containing onions, carrots, celery, mushrooms, L&P Worcestershire sauce, Balsamic vinegar, 2 x large sliced potatoes, 3 x lamb stock cubes, gravy granules, courgette, fresh ground pepper & some Aromat seasoning. Absolutely hit the spot. Enough left over for at least 3 days.
  19. Yes. Sad news. Makes you wonder if the queen wants to carry on without him? 99 was a good innings. He wanted too make it to 100 & was only a few months off doing that. RIP Phillip.
  20. I got a text message from him on the 24th March to say goodbye & confirming he had been banned for life. He didn't say why & I didn't ask.
