Cybex X2, or Kiddy cruiserfix car seats
GTR27 replied to ExpatHotspur's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
What brand/model is your seat with the top tether? I'm looking for a 15-36kg isofix seat with top tether (Australian requirement). Isofix was only approved two years ago, and we only have two seats on the market for around £500......each.- 17 replies

Adding Lights to the interior
GTR27 replied to grantcolborn's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
Look up the foot well lighting thread. Will add the light you need, in an adjustable (brightness) pleasing tone. -

Have a look at BMW.com.au but top spec is ~85-90k aud (£47-50k). When I checked last night, I notice they have announced a price drop, roughly 10k cheaper than it was. We still can't get a base model like you guys for just more than a golf gti, but it's getting closer to reasonable.Prob should take the convo to another thread though. -
Hmmmm. good question. I'll be sound deadening the boot floor, spare wheel well, rear wheel arches first, so hopefully by that stage someone has a write up on the doors, so I can add some to that too.

As others have said Michelin PS3's Goodyear F1's Conti CS5's Are the 3 tyres to get. If you're after more "touring tyre" then a step down in the same brands for each should get you a decent result. If you keep pressures up, a set of PS3's should last 18.5-20K miles. I'd sacrifice longevity for the excellent grip, ride and noise they have,

Our Skoda's appear roughly the same price as the UK. It's BMW and mercs and other euro brands we get screwed on in aus. A BMW m135i starts around £30k pound in the UK ($48-50 aud ). In Australia, they are roughly 75k AUD - £41.5k . that's a massive difference! -
A lot to ask I know, but if you have KESSY/Alarm can you just disconnect the battery?

Why is it lighter than a Leon and a Golf?
GTR27 replied to adder's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
My spec (same as se in UK) the Australian sheet says 1272kg for 1.4 tsi kerb weight with driver, tare mass of 1340kg. Wonder what the difference is? 1300kg is still light for that sized car. The golf in Australia, shows as 70kg lighter than the Octavia -
So does anyone know anything about the sensors in the doors? Can you just pop the trims off and dynamat the doors without issues?
-
What options would those be? My15 onwards or my15.5?
-
Me too, but the wife hadn't had one before so it was a sell to get it through.

What led can I get to replace the sidelights? Bold sport link would be good if anyone knows

Retro fit footwell lights Octy III
GTR27 replied to steveb1970's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
So I've bought a full LED light kit from LED perf (All white LED for interior, except footwell lights - GREEN!). I gather I still need to get the "footwell light kit" from somewhere for the wiring, and then see if I can sweet talk someone here to code in VCDS for me. I will buy a VCDS cable myself eventually, but I think the missus would kill me if I spent any more on the car right now. (I have spent about $1600 AUD - around £850! on various bling/add-ons for the car so far and it's not even delivered!) Anyway, what footwell light kit would you recommend? I will install everything myself, just get it coded by someone. I gather MY15 cars can be done now? (I hope so seeing how i've bought LEDs already!) Edit: I see boldsport do the kit. -
Doe anyone that have the estate/combi have this issue? I know the blind could rattle in retracted position, but hadnt heard of any rattles on the pano roof before. I did lots of research before ticking that box (because the wife would kill me if it rattled!)
-
Are peoples complaints the sedan roof? Or the pano roof in the estate? Or both?
-
Anyone have a write up on how to do that? My car has xenon's and is due to arrive would like to replace it so it doesn't look out of place.

My mk2 rs had a great gearbox, not notchy in the slightest. Due to the complete lack of manuals available, I haven't driven an octy 3 in manual, so here's hoping when mine arrives, it's OK. Thanks for the short shifter link, will see how it goes, but look at it if I don't like the shift.

Brilliant. They have updated it for the new model

Awesome. Might hit up my dealer to take photos before they do the pdi

His 5 month wait is actually extremely fast for an Aussie order. I'll be just shy of 7 months for what is the equivalent to se spec. 7-8 months is 'normal' here for rs. Does look cracking though
-
Ha! I ordered the same spec (practically) in may (7th) and will get it roughly the same time. The UK gets treated extremely well in regards to skoda compared to other markets :( Aussies would dream of a world where we got ordered cars in under 6 months....
-
Depends where you are, and which way the ship goes. I've heard of people in WA having the ship take 6 weeks. My ship journey is about 7 weeks (to brisbane, via USA and panama canal). 3 months would be worst case. After it docks, around 2 weeks to delivery. So all up mine will be (roughly) 9 weeks from rolling off the build line to rolling into my driveway. Melbourne/sydney seems to have the longest delays - I would suspect Adelaide would get its cars from melb on a transporter, so you would have to wait longer than melb.
-
Australia by the delivery time.

I'm interested in the front doors. I have canton on mine and want to add dynamat and mass loaded vinyl to the front doors, but have heard they have sensors for the airbags in there and don't want to mess that up

Only reason I didn't option it was the wife has a habit of leaving a key in her purse and buttons being mashed. Didn't want the auto tailgate opening when the garage was closed and causing damage (to either). Was less than $500 option here (~£300 )
