  1. You do realise UK tide gauges show a linear rise that has not altered since the 1960s, nor the 1860s come to that. And I'm not sure how quickly your barrages could be up and running - and the strike price for the Swansea Lagoon was higher than Hinckley!
  2. I can't even understand that what the hell you are on about now - 'global warming is making' - complete garbage as usual. So the next emissions 'scandal' is the latest ultra-efficient petrol direct injection engines. PMs are in the top quartile of all cars and carcinogenic aromatics in the top 10/20%. Of course all this can be solved with DPFs - too funny to be true! In reality these 'filthy' cars are actually very clean, just as were the scandal struck VW cars, the 'scandal' is the lying eco-mental groups and politicians exaggerating the issue, whilst our cities enjoy their cleanest air in modern history!
  3. If you read most of the reporting in the US about Chilcot, you'd be forgiven for thinking they got an entirely different version! Politics/media bias eh.
  4. I love your posts lol, never has anyone posted so much technical nonsense (financial and environmental) without so obviously having not the tiniest clue what they are talking about. You're always good for a giggle. As for Brexit - would you rather be afloat in a lifeboat, or shackled to the deck of a sinking ship, neither situation is desirable, but 1 is clearly preferable?
  5. There's a hard plastic boxy/pipe fitting thing that often warps or cracks and leaks under the engine cover towards the right, it might even be the bit the CTS fits into, sorry can't be more specific as it was a long time ago! Oh, and the expansion tanks sometimes develop a crack/leak.
  6. You won't hear this on the BBC. The Environmental Protection agency in the USA is being investigated/prosecuted for stacking the supposedly independent Clean Airs Scientific Advisory Committee (PMs and NOX panels) with paid cronies. It's exactly the same corruption of environmentalism/science as in UN/UK/Europe but we don't have the same powers/tireless individuals to track down these scammers and bring them to book here.
  7. Bingo, we have someone that doesn't believe all the junk science spouted these days. The figures are statistical guesses by 'scientists' paid to produce papers to prove the problem, and they are 'excess deaths' i.e. ill/weak people that theoretically died a bit prematurely. This is the same idea as 'excess winter death' statistics, i.e. people that theoretically died from the cold - which is anything from 100,000 to 25,000 in the UK (of course there are many reasons why more people die in winter than just the colder weather). The latest research actually showed that air pollution is so 'bad' in UK cities, that doing regular exercise in that 'polluted' air has health benefits that far exceed the 'danger' from breathing the air. So that perhaps gives some perspective as to the real level of harm - i.e. infinitesimally slight.
  8. "EU emission laws are such that the only way this government can comply easily is to reduce speed limits, plenty of 50mph limits where it used to be nsl purely to reduce emissions in those areas as opposed to a safety concern. " A far better way to reduce pollution in towns would be to allow the traffic to flow instead of deliberately obstructing it.
  9. Cats only dig in the act of burying their poo, so if you haven't found any, either you haven't looked hard enough (you can't miss the smell!), or it isn't cats. A surprising number of cats are stone deaf, and they get used to the ultrasonic repellents anyway, and they annoy people as well (many people can hear them). Cats are attracted to the smell of freshly turned earth, but once they've picked a spot, they use it constantly. Anything that will disrupt them works, netting/mesh laid on the soil, big stones, sticks poking up etc.
  10. Norway has generated nearly all of its electricity from hydro for a while, the low dependence of fossil fuels for electricity production is not a new thing or a policy in the name of the climate change fraud. They don't need to heavily rely on uneconomic/useless solar PV/wind to be 'green'.
  11. Oh dear is LOL-LOL still believing/pushing the GIGO RCP8.5 fantasy climate model predictions from the IPCC with a political agenda of one world UN socialist government- you do realise it is garbage and will never happen?
  12. Sadly Sir DA has sold his own reputation down the river by becoming the mouthpiece of Global Warming Alarmism. At least Bellamy and Ball still have their honour, even if they are unemployable!
  13. Don't use the car, it'll only get worse. And you'll probably end up with a damaged head gasket if it boils, or a cracked block if you drop in cold water.
  14. None of this is going to happen, the erstwhile largest PV manufacturer is going under along with some notable other big 'green' tech. companies and TESLA is being shorted by people in the know (both divisions) with the suspicion it is in serious trouble. Current 'green' tech. is of no commercial value and a very bad engineering solution. People will never be sold on EVs whilst the financial and practicality compromise is so high and the price of oil so low (and the age of cheap oil/gas has only just begun). Currently an EV car is effectively a coal powered car, which is why the reasonable take up encouraged by subsidies in China (despite the inevitable rampant fraud with ghost cars) has resulted in increased CO2 and increased air pollution. The EU bio-fuel policy has produced the equivalent of 12M extra cars in INCREASED CO2 emissions, and the EU has wasted 1Trillion on green subsidies, yet CO2 emissions (if you even believe they are an issue), have gone UP. If it had been left to the free market without political interference, fracking and natural gas exploitation would be well underway by now and CO2 emissions would already be way down.
  15. "April has been warmer than June/July the last few years." Only in your head! Met Office Scotland data mean temp. APR/JUN/JUL 2015 6.2 / 10.6 / 12.2 2014 7.9 / 12.9 / 14.5 2013 4.9 / 11.5 / 15.2 2012 5.0 / 10.5 / 12.2 2011 9.1 / 10.7 / 12.6 2010 6.7 / 12.6 / 13.2
  16. I hate to burst your bubble but there are loads of battery break through research papers, they are essentially marketing prospectuses for research funds. They never come to fruition. There is no game changer battery technology, it's just the wrong technology for energy storage (for cars & grid). It's like cold fusion and perpetual motion and anti-gravity, never quite arrives!
  17. But you are a proponent of industrial sabotage and the great 'green' jobs killing machine - you believe in the dangerous man-made-warming fraud and the policies intended to reduce CO2. The loss of steel and aluminium jobs is just the beginning of our complete de-industrialization and the closure of all manufacturing - that is the unspoken cross-party agreement on how the UK will go 'green'? No 'renewable' is capable of replacing hydrocarbons at scale. And the futile 2% of primary power contribution they currently make in the UK is already ruinously expensive, together with other 'carbon' charges. European steel/industry is shutting down, like a dead fish rotting from the head with the most expensive power first, the UK and Germany at the lead. And the ludicrous irony is that by off-shoring production to places like China and India we are sending CO2 emissions upwards, they are so inefficient they create many times more CO2 per ton of steel (or anything else) than in the EU. If you/the government use tariffs or reliefs to keep steel viable, you are acting contrary to your own beliefs/'green' policy. Which is nonsensical. The cost of climate policies are already adding 26% to the price of power, by 2020 current policies are projected to add a suicidal 59%. 'Green' energy costs and 'carbon' taxes are not the whole story, but they are the killer blow to competitiveness.
  18. The debt inherited and the bloated public sector is causing the debt to balloon, obviously, that's why it was so irresponsible of Labour to use public jobs as a way to buy client votes and suppress true unemployment, and not only fail to squirrel cash away, but to go all out to spend as much as possible in the last year, to maliciously sabotage their successors. There has been no misery inflicted on any public servants, we haven't even had anything that could remotely be called true austerity, their sense of entitlement has been adjusted marginally. It's quite extraordinary that you blame Tories for the debt but scream foul when they try to save money. That's reds for you, they always imagine you can rape the magic money true for eternity.
  19. On the other hand, failing to keep well back from another car that has shown itself to be unpredictable, repeatedly, probably does mean that you have room for improvement !
  20. If a car has been misdescribed/misrepresented or is unroadworthy (MOT is no indication) and not specifically sold as spares or repair and not to be driven away etc., then you DO have come back even in a private sale. If you could show the seller had altered the service history, that would certainly be grounds to sue.
  21. It's just standard survey cut/paste whitewash arse covering. Obviously any company you get in will recommend treatment! Unless it is a mortgage requirement to address, stick it on the back burner. Check the roof timbers - if there are no obvious holes/wood dust and you can't pick the wood apart with your thumb nail. Jump in the middle of the floors - if they don't feel unduly bouncy or about to collapse. Don't worry!
  22. Only ~60% NO2 comes from ground based transport and only ~25% of that is from private cars, so private cars only contribute about 15% overall. So ban all private diesel cars overnight, and it would make SFA difference. If anybody thinks this is about private car emissions or cheating on limits, there are far bigger games afoot, and this whole 'scandal' is just part of the strategy.
  23. Astonishing the ignorance displayed on here about TESLA, it has never made a profit, as for being the future, it's a complete irrelevance that will only ever be remembered for a few extreme executive toys. http://dailycaller.com/2015/08/10/tesla-is-hemorrhaging-money-despite-millions-in-govt-subsidies/
  24. It actually usually the Central Convenience Unit gone bad, which is near impossible to diagnose, and an uneconomic repair.
