  1. Where's the page about this offer as I can't for the life of me find the page on the Skoda site. Edit: Nevermind, found it, I was looking for a separate offer page, then thought to check the O3 pages and see the offer.
  2. Your earlier pictures of the car looks great, cant wait to get my one in race blue. I've not actually seen an elegance with race blue in the flesh yet, just a single VRS so I knew I'd like it just not for real. Nice to have now seen one that looks like my car will do in a few short months.
  3. On a base S model as said above easily possible but with a larger deposit. If you wanted to go for an Octavia SE 1.6 TDI it seems a bit of a push, using a quick calculator and some GFVs for that model gives a rough figure of £215 a month, deposit of £2500 and GFV of £9540 all over 36months. That assumes no negotiating, with getting 6% off the brochure price you should be able to see a figure just over £180. It's well worth putting it all through Car Wow, spec up a few different options on the models you are interested in, then when the replies come in ask them if they can provide some figures for PCP deals. I got quite a few garages that came back with figures, some actually provided full official quotes. Then it's easy enough to know what you should aim for with the dealers when you go in person.
  4. It's annoying that all available options aren't offered to all markets where there is no reasonable reason not to offer them. It can't cost Skoda any more money and some options surely they will make money from by offering it. Even if it is the case that some roads in Romania the lane assist wouldnt work they could easily put * This features operation is dependant on the quality of the road markings and still allowed you to use the feature on the roads where it would work and give you the comfort in knowing that safety feature is working. It took me ages to find out about the sport styling kit they offer as there were no brochure or online images about how they look fitted to an actual car despite me being interested in them. I had to resort to the Latvian version of the Skoda brochure to find a picture and it's the same stock pictures Skoda provides to all their regions for brochures so why it couldn't be included on the website is beyond me. Skoda confuses me in their policies.
  5. I test drove both versions and while the turbo adds to the pep in the 1.6, the 2.0 was something else for someone who has never owned a turbo powered car let alone something with as much torque (driven plenty more powerful cars just never been mine). The MPG figures seemed to me to be much of a muchness. I went for the larger engine purely on the fact that the overall cost of fuel would be little different but at least the extra power will be nice for a bit of driving R&R.
  6. Worse, it was a quick MS Paint jobbie As I don't have PS on the machine I mocked that up on. Not bad considering a couple of people seem to have thought it was real. :p I've not seen the grill on any real life cars yet, just the ones from MK2's. I think the MK2 carries it off nicely, the O3 is probably going to be less likely as I think it looks a bit...... fussy and the cells are just too large.
  7. Obviously this is a quick hash up of it. I'm not so sure I like it, the honeycomb cells seem to just be a little too large.
  8. The latest and previous paper brochures both certainly say you cant have the winter pack on the TSI engines. I'd be taking the car back to them and you at the very least need to get the price of the option refunded. I'd expect that if it's specific to the TSI engines that it will be something like the electrical waveform produced by the petrol engines on the UK spec car is somehow not compatible with whatever VAG system they use for it all. We have to remember that UK car tax laws differ to that in the rest of europe so it could be that to meet the figures for our bandings that it ruins compatibility for our market. Another reason that the co2 target figures for car manufacturers are an irritation. It does seem a bit unreasonable in this digital age that errors like this can happen and that you've managed to get the car through from point of order to your door step with the option specified entirely missing and no one notice. Hopefully they sort it out for you to your satisfaction.
  9. Sounds like the quality sales pitch on my last car "You're an idiot not to buy the demo car", after they show me around the car that's the same price bar a few £100, in a colour I don't want and with 3k on the clock. Safe to say they never got my business and I got my car from another dealer's 30miles further away just to obtain decent service. As to the questions, it might be worth calling the lease company before getting your hopes up. For all people here do for getting your hopes up only to be dashed again in a week when they 'correct' their error.
  10. Yep, you can spec it on any model as part of the winter pack. I'm not sure if the MY15 means you can split the heated screen out of the pack or not now. Mine will have it for the middle of night trips to and from work in the winter where it will be a godsend and my colleagues have to sit in the cold removing the ice.
  11. Mid July expected, but end of it is what was quoted. Compared to the Vauxhall Insignia and Astra CDTi's I've driven, the engine in the Octavia is near silent by comparison. My neighbour has an Insignia and when he fires it up at 5am never fails to wake me up. Plus the mileage makes the diesel worth it. I've never really understood the diesel hate, it's no longer 1992.
  12. Lovely Can I swapsees for the one I just ordered I have to wait till July.
  13. Ordering my Octi Elegance 2.0 in Race Blue tomorrow. Can't wait, I was offered the car, you've taken by the dealer I'll be going to. I turned them down as I didn't want to compromise on the options front as I wanted Race Blue with the Winter Pack and nothing more, as the toys you get already are awesome. My first Skoda so here's hoping it will be a nice experience.
  14. Thanks for that, I'd gotten a quote for the best price but completely missed the finance button, I've just put a request through. Looking forward to seeing what they quote.
  15. I've been advised by 2 different unrelated dealers that for my spec Octavia Elegance 2.0 TDI will be 10-11weeks lead time. I'll be adding Race Blue and Winter Pack to mine.
  16. That's actually rather interesting. I like the little test course for the cars at the very end. Cant wait to order mine on Thursday.
  17. After a bit more looking and expanding my search for outside of the UK I've found out that the sports pack is just not worth it as it's not really anything that brilliant other than an extended lip on the hatch, I was partly hoping for something akin to the VRS spoiler/wing. Some decent images of what appears to be included I've tracked down on the skoda latvia website. http://www.skoda.lv/files/accessories/octavia.pdf Bits are all on pages 4-7.
  18. OK, people can ignore my request for details about the sports packs, not worth it seemingly as it's not really anything exciting other than an extended lip on the hatch. Some decent images of what appears to be included I've tracked down on the skoda latvia website. http://www.skoda.lv/files/accessories/octavia.pdf Bits are all on pages 4-7.
  19. Just had a look through the MY15 changes pdf file and while I can see the text about the sport style packs, I cant find any images on the skoda website or the internet in general. Anyone know of anywhere that shows the spoiler in question on the car and how the door trims look for either pack or even better for both? I quite fancy adding them to my order this week.
  20. More a case for me of wanting to get a decent low monthly figure that's neither insanely expensive nor excessively cheap, having been told I was being made redundant once in my life before the age of 25, I think carefully about financing anything and £200 is possible to work with in our household even if the situation transpired that I took a large pay hit again. After looking at Carwow, it seems a little more pushing can be done, but the great thing is that a similarly close by dealer has offered a lower starting figure so even if the one I visited can't match it I just have to put a few extra miles in to get a better deal that will offer me a good saving. One final thing as I cant find any reference to it, other than it appear to be a MY15 extra. The Sport style pack - Black and Sport style pack - Silver, I can see a text description but I can't for the life of me find any images or renders of what they look like on the current Octavia. I quite fancy adding them to add to the look of the car but I don't want to order it unless I know I think it will look good. Anyone know where I can get a look at some images of both packs and what they offer.
  21. Very good point, I'd looked at them when I first started looking at cars and totally forgot. I'll have a look now and thanks for reminding me. Pretty much what I expected. I was fairly sure I was in the ball park for the best value for money. I will certainly give the car wow a look again.
  22. First off, I'd like to just say thanks for everyone on the site as I've been lurking for a few months reading though topics and comments of users to get a feel for the Skoda world and it's been very helpful. But I digress and on to why I've taken the plunge to sign up. I'm sold on the Octi III after a test drive of the engine I am after and a sit in one with the trim level I want (sadly they sold the demonstrator that had the trim and engine I was after this morning). Now it's time to deal with the hard sell of dealers (my favourite bit). Just a bit curious about the sorts of prices people have been getting on the 0% PCP promo they have running. Having just returned from the dealer I have gotten a quote for the following after experiencing the usual "I'll just speak to the finance manger" rubbish. Octavia Elegance 2.0 TDI + Metalic paint + Winter Pack (front seats only) Deposit of My car £4200 + £500 cash On the road price of £22877 On 42months PCP they have given a price of £206 with a MGFV of £10120 on 10k miles a year and that includes servicing? As I will be on to another dealers next week should I be pressing harder for an even better price or do people think that figure looks to be good with very little wiggle room.
