  1. We had the same problem with a key fob battery draining for no apparent reason and had to replace it every couple of days. Thinking it was 'damp', I removed the battery and soaked the fob in contact cleaner overnight. It has worked perfectly since. Meths might do just as well.
  2. Hi I tried Skoda Superb 2 boot lid and this came up https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/145176194700?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=2agxoap_stu&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=gGVzwLtXRLS&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=WHATS_APP
  3. Hi Mine's a 1.6 diesel Greenline and recently has the master cylinder replaced at about 220,000 private miles. (Not a taxi). Otherwise, a new a.c. compressor last year and 3 timing belts. Fingers crossed still going strong.
  4. Hi, please could someone tell me the part number for the D1S ballast resistor for my Superb 2 Greenline and recommend the best make and supplier. Thanks
  5. Update. The AA man got it wrong. The pedal stayed down the next day and changing gear became impossible. I had the master cylinder replaced and it's good again. I recommend Stuart at Speedy Clutch of Hyde, Greater Manchester.
  6. Thanks Derbyshirebod. Well, the AA man released the pedal by heaving it free, spraying with release oil and lubricant and then vigorously pumping it. He says it probably won't even need to go to the garage but I'll have it checked anyway. He did say that if it were to happen again then pull the pedal up and pump it for a few minutes, which would lubricate the 'piston' behind the pedal. He was full of praise for Skodas.
  7. Mark 2 Greenline manual gearbox. The Clutch pedal is depressed to the floor and won't spring back. So it's locked in reverse. The AA are on their way but I'm wondering if anyone can tell me what the extent of the repair is likely to be. Thanks in advance
  8. Hi. I finally had this diagnosed and repaired (needed a new compressor - thanks Gremlin170) by Damian. He's based in Chester and covers Liverpool, Manchester etc Mobile +44 7786 028602. He visited home, diagnosed the problem and came back a few days later with a brand new Denso compressor. Job done.
  9. Hi. My air conditioning has been very poor recently. When I went to a local garage they found it didn't need re-gassing but it had fault code B10ABF0 - Refrigerant pressure - lower limit not reached. They had no idea how to fix it so can anyone recommend a good air conditioning specialist in Manchester? Many thanks
  10. When I pair my Pixel 6 Pro (Android 12), it cuts the phone connection so that the signal icon on the top line is crossed out and the Maxidot message "Telephone is not available" message appears. I've tried forget from the phone. Any ideas? Thanks Solved! Just decline the option to allow car to access phone's SIM card.

  12. Hi, The front passenger seat offers little support when driving along country lanes etc and I wondered if there are compatible Recaro type seats from the VAG range or after market seat covers which would offer better support and if so what complications could there be. Many thanks.
  13. You might be able to remove the cover on the end of the handle to reveal the keyhole and Bob's your uncle.
  14. Hi, mine had not been working but on changing the battery it resumed normal service. Please let us know if you're new battery has the same result.
  15. Hi, have you tried Google maps or Waze for navigation. Both show your speed, the speed limit and have lane guidance and are free.
  16. Hi. I've have had this rattle for a few months and in desperation, was about to remove the boot/trunk liner. Just by chance I saw that shock absorber top cover had come away and was free to rattle about. Problem solved! I've secured it with some duct tape which will probably last another 5 years. Hope this helps.
  17. Hi. I'm stuck as I can't find any instructions for doing this on the the Superb 11. I took off the only to find that the plate that the window motor is attached to is behind the inner leaf of the door panel and too big to remove through the cut-out! Sounds like I have to remove all the trim from the window surround, take the motor etc off the front of the plate, take the plate out from the slot at the top of the window to replace the wire. Here's a photo of where I got to. Any help would be gratefully received!
  18. And how much are they? Sent from my A0001 using Tapatalk
  19. Is this something you can do on all Superb lls? I can't get it to work on my '62 reg Greenline. Thanks Sent from my A0001 using Tapatalk
  20. Hi I'm new to the Skoda family having just got a Superb Elegance Greenline 2. I am very impressed with its specifications and keen to get to know all its whistles and bells! IainJ
