  1. That is a message I sometime get when the front sensor gets confusing signals because of the surrounding environment. Driving northbound in the Blackwall tunnel can do it. It come back when I leave the tunnel. So it does sound like the sensor thinks it is blocked somehow,
  2. The early Octavias (mine is a 14 plate) have a smaller boot hole for the button, so cutting is required to fit the camera. There is a thread on here all about it.
  3. Not sure if this applies to the facelift Octavia, but while I could enable dual rear fogs on a Superb, it wouldn't work due to one of the light clusters due to no LED bulb being present.
  4. Depending on what you need doing I might be able to help. Have the older cable, so possible might not be able to talk to some modules. Up in Crookes if you want to pass by sometime.
  5. For convenience you may want to get a tag for the Toll Roads, so you can just drive through. Remember that if paying by cash or card, the machine will be on the wrong side of the car. https://www.emovis-tag.co.uk
  6. Have a look here. It does sharpen things up a little.
  7. And then you can flip the welcome / leaving home lights to be the fogs instead of the Xenons. And yep, car looks a lot better with Leds fogs, especially if you have the cornering fogs enabled. The yellow light with them always bugged me when it mixed with the white of the headlights
  8. When the clocks went forward, the first tip I drove the car, Sunday afternoon, the time was still GMT. But when I drove it in the Evening it changed to BST. So it seems there is a bit of a lag for when it picks up the time change.
  9. I have ACC on mine, more by chance than anything. For average speed camera sections of road I find it really useful. But there are issues with it (might have improved with later versions than only 2014) 1) It doesn't like getting too close to walls. Seems to cause it to turn off. Sometimes the new concrete central reservations can cause it to deactivate. Or sometimes going through the Blackwall tunnel in London 2) If you rear whell tracking is out, you might have a huge bill to face, as the system needs recalibrating if the rear wheels are adjusted. A dealer will charge £450 for the alignment. And if you can find an indy with the equipment maybe £200. The only indy I found with the kit was in Bristol.
  10. I could have got skoda replacements under warranty. But at the time they were only 2.5 years old and looked a mess. Hence went and bought the superskoda caps instead. Holding up nicely 2 years on
  11. Have to agree with those centres, though I would as I have the same ones. I got them when the Skoda ones developed white worm.
  12. Ordered the ATE discs last night due to a EuroCarParts 50% off flash code. So front and rear discs came to around £170 after code and topcashback discount. Next week will order the pads and get the work done, and let you know what I think.
  13. That looks to be the set I bought. I went with the LED upgrade, but they didn't send the bulbs, so not sure how good they are or if they are worth the extra. Given that everyone seems to run them at quite low brightness anyway, no need to spend a lot on the bulbs. Think I run at 20% if that.
  14. Think I am getting there. Looks like I can get the ATE Plains discs with the Ceramic pads from cartech-one, or mix and match from both cartech-one and eurocarparts to bring the price down a little, when euro have a deal on. Now to just get a labour cost from my local garage.
  15. Can't afford them atm, but the code will be round soon enough. I will check with my local about labour, but feel it is the best way to go.
  16. Ah ha. Think I may have found the ATE pads https://www.cartech-one.co.uk/en/search/v-59679/n-243-brake-pads/t-CERAMIC Brake pad set front axle Can someone confirm the size pads I needs for the 340mm discs? Is it the 175mm ones?
  17. It is now 295 fixed price for fronts and rears (how the rears cost the same, I have no idea), and it was the rears that seem to be in a worse state than the fronts. Front pads are 75% worn and have lipped discs. Rears discs are described has heavily pitted and scored, though only about 25% wear on the pads. Currently, think I will go with the plain ATE discs from Euro Car parts when next on deal. Need to work out what pads, as EuroCarParts doesn't list any ATE pads as compatible, just pagid ones.
  18. And looking on the ATE Web Catalog it looks like they don't do a 340mm Power Disc, only a 312mm
  19. So where do I get the ATE disc from? I've only seen the plain discs at EuroCarParts. And thanks for your replies so far, keep em coming.
  20. Just had the MOT done on my car, and she passed but with advisories. The front pads are 75% worn, but have lipped front discs, so recommended to have Front Discs and Pads, and the Rear Discs are badly pitted and Scored, but the pads OK. If I go to Skoda I am look at £600 on new discs and pads all round. A local garage can get me a new set for £400, but didn't specify the brand. So looking for any other recommendations that people have
  21. I have just the Pro kit on my diesel VRS, still with the standard shocks. it is hard to describe the change in the car. On the original springs the car always felt a little unsure of itself on British Roads, but after the change, the car just feels a lot happier on the road. Feels like the wheels spend more time in contact with the road surface. Depending on where you are you can have a ride in mine.
  22. It is dead easy to do. I created a cardboard surround to go around the set of letters to catch excess spray. Then spray from one direction, let it dry then from another and so one for a few coats and the letter nicely covered. Remove the cardboard surround, then start to peel the plastidip away. It should split at the edge of the letters. A toothpick can be useful to press at the points you want it so split, or for getting the plastidip out of the inside of letters. Then clean of any excess of the paintwork. Found it really easy to do, and it is lasting.
  23. I went to SourceSounds in Sheffield to get it all fitted. I already had the Genesis amps and sub, The bit one and the rainbows were new. With the kit that was going on, it needed to have a decent dsp to go with.
