  1. Caffyns are good, I've bought from them in the past.
  2. I've got the genuine Skoda set that came with my Karoq. They were there when I got the car, the first owner had paid for them and not even opened the plastic bag. So I did. The quality is very good, they'll last, but the ones I got from Aliexpress for my Octavia are just as good. And i'm a fussy bvgger. The original post - I've looked in the Skoda Karoq accessories brochure and they're £27 a set, whether spare wheel floor or not. The Octavia 3 accessories brochure says £48 for red ones, £60 (!!) for black. OK, they're different from the Karoq set but only a bit. I repeat my suggestion to look online. There's a wide selection of sizes.
  3. Loads of different sized nets with clip or velcro fixings (go on boot sides and rear seat backs) on Aliexpress, for a couple of ££ each. I got several for under £25, all excellent quality.
  4. TBH on my old Octavia vRS I can't recall ever seeing them lit during daylight hours, and they don't on my current Karoq. Only when main lights are on.
  5. Hi janis, exactly, it's personal preference. The world would be a poorer place if we all liked the same thing. There's a saying over here, variety is the spice of life. I bet you'll have something similar in Latvia.
  6. I've never understood de-badging mainstream motors, whether it's to give a "clean" look (which is a matter of personal opinion), or to hide a performance model or not. A trend popularised by BMW drivers. A neighbour has a 3 Series dressed with all their M series bodykit and wheels, a lovely metallic blue. Looks good, but then Parker's shows it's a 318i, actually 1.5 petrol, less powerful and slower than my Karoq. Which makes it naff.
  7. It's "legally enforceable" in that the landowner can legally ban the offender from using the land. Gerrouta my pub!
  8. OnePlus 7T. Works fine but I prefer just to use the phone part of the infotainment system, I don't bother with Android Auto, nor Google Maps for directions. Both work OK but I use the radio and my music is on a 128Gb SD card, and I use the inbuilt navigation.
  9. Excellent, CJJE ! Fifteen seconds after launch, right behind the live tour offer.
  10. Fair point XVolvo. There's an excellent independent BMW specialist near me, gets a lot of business from cars that've never seen a franchised dealer since they first rolled out of the showroom. Trust the people you know. Yes, I looked up the specs on Parker's, that's why I thought it might be a diesel. They're either 1.6 or 2.0. Anyway, welcome to the club! I can't match your Swedish record, I only had 12 years of Saab before moving, and this Karoq is my third Skoda.
  11. XVolvo, exactly when was it registered? Is it still within the original 3 year warranty? In that case there's still an a Skoda dealer relationship (any of them). They can give you a Skoda service printout. You say it's a 1.6 SE Tech. So it's a diesel? (Just to clarify)
  12. Sorry again Ultra, had rather a cr@p day in the outside world, and took it out on your post. Very bad mannered of me. TBH, my previous Saab 95 was awful with the windows open. Car was designed to be used with them closed and climate control running. Opening a window just created noise and did nothing for ventilation.
  13. Sorry, I couldn't resist. Every car I've ever driven (hundreds) has been noisy with a window open, whether a few inches or all the way. It's just the way it is.
  14. Doesn't apply to Audis. At least not the A4 doing over 80 that passed me on the M53 a while back. Sometimes, you just want them to crash.
  15. Don't dismiss the Bridgestones out of hand. My 18" are very good, and that's from a Michelin fanboy of over forty years, latterly Pilot Sports on my vRS Octavia. I considered putting Michelins on the Karoq when I PX'd the vRS last June (a couple were getting thin but two had plenty of rubber when I got the car with 15k on the clock) but at £150 each compared with £100 for the Bridgestones I thought I'd give them a try. The prominent sidewalls protect the rims perfectly too. I don't need any tyres that would double for tractor or snow plough tyres so the tread pattern is fine. Two very nasty punctures in the originals mean I've now got four nearly new Bridgestones and I'm pleased with them. They suit the ride and handling characteristics very well.
  16. Nope, same length for all. There was (were?) a few mm of difference for the Mk 3 vRS. Curioser and curioser. End of hijack!
  17. Good spot there, Aarond! Seems Skoda can't measure their lengths properly either. The car grows when it leaves the configurator and reaches the driver's handbook.
  18. According to the SEAT website, it's 10.6m for the Arona. I took my Octavia figure from Parker's. I can't see turning circle anywhere on the Skoda website, nor in the downloadable brochure, nor does the driver's handbook for the Octavia 4 (all 241 pages of it) mention turning circle. However, AutoExpress gives the Octavia 4 hatch as needing 10.4m. I stand corrected. Okay, 0.4.m more than I thought, but not London bus figures. And I can't see the estate needing another 70 cms, especially with the hatch and estate being the same length.
  19. Teds, DSL - fair enough. Obviously Skoda's cruise control is a lot smarter than my old Saab's was! Thanks - I'll try to remember this if I ever need to put my spacesaver on.
  20. Teds, I accept what you say is true, but, WHAT???
  21. As CJJE says. So it's well protected from the elements.
  22. Fair enough - better than all the clouds staying in the car! If you haven't seen the superskoda website before, check the shipping prices. That could be another 10 euros or so.
