  1. Hello, Every now and then my steering seems to go heavy especially to the left. Sounds like the pump is labouring slightly to me. Is this going to be an expensive repair? :/
  2. I use their shampoo, super resin polish once in a while or when needed if a slight blemish appears, rapid aqua wax and instant show shine (great for removing passenger's grubby paw marks), custom wheel cleaner and instant tyre dressing. I got a lot with the car and just needed to restock a couple of bits today :p swear by the stuff. Will try the gloss protection sometime. Where would that fit in a regime?Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Looking good! Great idea for a thread btw. Today I cleaned out the inside (lots of pay and display tickets laying around and mint wrappers...commuting recently!) Topped up the money tank and looked in despair at the grey car (it's petrol blue...) from the roadworks nearby. So I took pity and stocked up on some autoglym bits from Halfords sale. Going to the jet wash tomorrow and going to treat her lol I also took the back seats out to allow some cargo and be able to keep my seat right back[emoji38] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. you won't regret it for one minute enjoy!Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. I have a 2011, 15000 miles so not representative maybe but no problems, nippy, get 40+ mpg on a good run, 25-30ish in town. I would argue at length with your mech, the DSG box is so smooth it's a treat. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. So long as they don't cause an uptake in oil consumption. Sorry I'll get my coat... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Are they the same fitting as the high beam ones? Will have another pop tomorrow. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Aye I did spot the cover for the low beams - couldn't get the bulbs out the same so said sod it for now! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. UPDATE Just replaced the bulbs, fiddly buggers but not too bad compared to other cars I've seen! Then realised I'd replaced the high beam not the low beam! Genius. I was going to do both but only had the one pair of bulbs to hand xD Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Awesome! Will do thanks Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Good luck, hope you're happy with it! Doubt you'll regret your decision! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Some members on here do, I'm not sure where abouts you are Pete. Without going to a dealer any independent garage would have diagnostic gear. If you're nearby I may be able to help! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Have you access to an OBD scanner? It would be worth looking to see if any faults have tripped. If not Im sure someone on here can point you in the right direction.
  14. Some about online have been clocked anywhere between 102 and 120! All I know is it feels nippy when you need it too! Motorway driving a breeze, nice ride (as i've said before I'm sure the firmer monte suspension will yield slightly better handling except I'm not sure if this will make it more comfortable - have been a passenger in a car with 'sports suspension' and it was less than comfortable, depends on your taste i guess. The 1.2 tsi has enough oomph to make overtaking a breeze when you feel the need, otherwise cruising is nice and quiet and a good solid ride. If you're going to be doing lots of motorway driving have you considered the diesel? May be a bit better on the old wallet. Having said that between 60-70mph i get around ~45mpg.
  15. That's funny I've never had a single rattle except for when I trapped something in the glovebox lock *doh* As I said I have the 1.2 tsi SE and can only praise it, the engine is nippy when needed, quiet (but sounds nice when you do hear it haha), the ride is smooth though I can imagine that's bettered by the stiffer suspension I believe is standard on the monte. 16. If there's nothing at all appearing on the dash could it have been some electrical failure between the dash and ecu? Sounds very odd the engine is turning over and then stopping when everything else is working. Could this be a fuel problem? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. This is true, as it is for the fog/drl units too. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Ah that's a shame. As goneoffskiroottoot says check the v5! My SE spec is somewhere between SE and Elegance so is hard to see 'on paper'. I believe there is a VIN lookup somewhere floating about on here? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. I have the 1.2 tsi 105 in the se trim and honestly cannot say a bad word about it. My advice would be take one out for a drive and spend a bit of time in it! Any 'common faults' I've read about on here have been minor little things easily resolved, unless someone knows something I don't! You looking for manual or DSG? I have the seven speed DSG and its buttery smooth :3 Happy hunting. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Good isn't it, if anything it's only making their life easier. But I guess it removes a % possibility of them wriggling out of paying! Thieving gits. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Just phoned privilege to check if wiring up my dash cam to go on with ignition would be w 'modification' and they confirmed no but they also won't accept it as proof in the event of an accident! I knew dash cams have been hit and miss with insurers but thought they'd all matured by now. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Bladdy hell. Well I'm only registered here and it's staying that way hahaha Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. It's dead! Nothing compared to brisky I was looking for something completely unrelated on Google when this popped up but I'd remembered the thread! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. Stumbled across this via Google: http://www.skodaforum.co.uk/showthread.php/1231-intermittent-accelerator-fault-fabia-1-2-tsi-105 Not sure if this is of any use but sounds like a similar issue. Post #2 has a possible answer. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
