2020 F1 Discussion
A certain BC Ecclestone was a failed driver and then team owner. Didn't do badly for himself. C Horner Esq. also. Even more illustrious, a Mr ACB Chapman didn't do great things as a driver, although on his day of days I believe he beat both Clark and Hill in a sports car event. And finally, a Signore E Ferrari who had won some major races for Alfa but really lost the will after his team mate was killed.

Not unexpected really. They sold the business and the new management are in place after Monza. Much like Bernie selling F1 and finding himself immediately replaced by a moustache.

One or two individuals. Sounds like the truckie and the garage sweeper did it. No. The one or two individuals were the team principal and technical director. The absolute top level team management. And they were both punished. I can't remember the team getting much trouble though, because like current top cheaters Ferrari they're a mainstream manufacturer, unlike McLaren who'd been fined 100 million and lost their prize money the year before Singapore.

I still really rate Fernando as a driver, but he has undeniably destabilised a few top F1 teams in the past. In fact he probably had acrimonious exits from teams as many times as Prost did. Re Renault and cheating: haven't they been disqualified more than once during the hybrid years for exceeding the fuel flow limit?

If they put as much effort into their own car as they put into protests and posturing for the press just maybe they'd move up the grid more often. They really need a top management overhaul. I just don't rate Cyril as a team principal, and advisor Alain Prost is a failed team owner, was sacked by Ferrari and Renault and walked out on McLaren and Williams. And into this creaking management structure they are bringing the most disruptive and divisive driver of the century. Can't wait to see how it pans out. Will they all get through the whole of 2021? If not, who will fall on his sword first, Cyril, Alain, or Fernando?

Struggling to catch up with these compressed seasons. Still not watched Moto3 from last week.

Lucky they're not letting fans in at Monza. The way Ferrari are going, none would have turned up anyway😀

The fastest lap was impressive. I guess Daniel had saved his boost push and had some real fun on the last lap. However, 6 seconds off qualifying? Has there ever been a greater disparity between an F1 cars' ultimate potential and how little of it is used during a race?

That was dull. Looking at where Kimi finished, it's likely Russell would have beaten both Ferraris though. Only the DRS gave any excitement, and there are many who'd still rather it wasn't on the cars at all. Monza next week with no party modes in qually. Will that change things for the better or give Mercedes even more advantage?

Lights on with ignition key?
Another idea. Check if the SEAT Toledo settings on Carista give any different options for your Rapid. I did it the other way, modded a Toledo with Rapid set on Carista before the Toledo was officially supported.

Lights on with ignition key?
I changed from a 2014 to a 2017 facelift car and Carista offers many more DRL options on that including the "Scandinavian DRL" front and back. The older car is electronically different. Have you emailed Carista to ask for the feature you want? They are very accommodating. Or maybe find a OBDeleven or VCDS user instead.

SO... exactly just how much were Ferrari cheating last year please FIA? 2019 Grid 1-2 2020 Grid 13-14 not to mention all the Ferrari customers in grid slots 16-20... And they still get more money and a rules veto. Frankly, F1 survived the passing of dominant superteams from Alfa, Maserati, Vanwall, Lotus, Brabham and Tyrrell. It would go on without Ferrari too. Why should this bunch of cheats still get preferential treatment?

...and they still got the biggest payout in the newly signed Concorde agreement, and retained their stupid power of veto over the rules.

At least they can't DNQ here. In Canada 1980 even the genius of Villeneuve only qualified 22nd and reigning World Champion Scheckter was 26th and didn't make the 24 car field.

Ferrari P17 and P20 in FP3. I don't think they've been this 5h1t since 1980's 312T5.

Not much learned from FP1 or 2. Big 3 all covered by a tenth in Fp1 ( and Perez).

Rear DRL is a recent change in the UK . My 14 Rapid didn't have them but my 17/18 does. I believe Scandinavian countries had them a while ago. Try changing to Sweden.

ET38 is the factory spec for 6x15. The track is surely barely different from ( if not narrower than ) the factory 7x17 ET46? Increase the track from ET by 16mm. But the bigger wheel width gives 25mm, so I reckon the 17s are still 9mm wider track overall. Maybe the 205s make that width up. But the 15 wheels look tiny whatever rubber you put on.

Very much tyre and tyre pressure dependent. For instance I've driven Rapid / Toledo on some17 inch tyres that were dire and on different brands that were very comfortable. All these were OEM. Dunlop SP Sport Maxx - Loud, Harsh RIde, Grippy, Long-lasting 30k+? Bridestone RE050A - Quite loud, Jiggly Ride, Not as Grippy, Don't seem like they'll do a huge mileage (cracking at 17000) Conti PremiumContact 2 - Quiet, Best Ride, Grip nearly as good as Dunlop. 26000 miles with even wear ( but then grip reduced at 3mm tread depth ) Still easily legal at 35000 miles. It could be @WolfyWesty just has a harsh tyre on, and a better one would negate the need for a wheel size change. The Contis were great for me as a commuter. Very disappointed the next brand new car had those Bridgestones on instead. Reducing the Bridgestone pressure from eco to normal helps the ride too, without noticeable fuel consumption change. If going to 16s, can thoroughly recommend Dunlop SP Sport Fast Response (now called Dunlop Sport BluResponse I think) in the 215/45R16.
