How many km is too many?
Fantastic effort gents. Half a million kms coming on…👌👍 Mines a petrol 3.6 but has 310,000kms on it. I had a replacement chain issue under warranty early on at 90,000 (a pulley bearing failed) but otherwise just regular maintenance. Underside bits need replacing as it lived in Switzerland for ten years of its life and although no salt as such, the chemicals do their thing on the exposed metal bits. Replace as I go. Just had new suspension coils. Still runs brilliantly.

Front Bumper Parking Sensors
I can’t help unfortunately as I’m in the same boat ie. No front sensors, but would like some. From limited experience on other cars, the sensors tend to held in place by their own tolerance fit ‘clip’ fittings (if that makes sense). Good luck with it.

Is it worth getting smaller diameter wheels?
I had 17” alloys with all season tyres for the past year. A great compromise between aesthetics and comfort. Mine has been lowered all its life from new in Switzerland (it’s a 2010 car bought used by me in 2013) until last week that is (French Certificicate Conformity issues…🙄🤦♂️) and it worked wonderfully on 17’s and 19’s. Now on 18’s.

New wheels fitted
I just ordered a new ‘used’ set of original alloys for mine too. In really good condition. Came from Lithuania via Ovoko (a brilliant company for decent Skoda spares). Approximately £320 for 4 delivered to France with 60% worn tyres (which I wasn’t expecting tbh). All for less than the price of one ‘new’ original Skoda one. I needed a set to help get my car through it’s registration process here in France…a story for another time.

Superb MK2 boot torch
Hi there - it should not be on all the time, only when doors/hatch are opened, or not at all (depends on the switch/button setting on the torch I think). Your prognosis sounds right regarding corroded or knackered terminals (or torch possibly…).

Trevorb33’s Superb Mk2 3.6 v6
I really enjoyed following this thread Trevor - do you still have the car? I’ve followed some of your advice and tips here. I love my 3.6. I bought mine used in 2013 (it's a 2010 car) and its a keeper. 👍

Sunroof Replacement
Is it the panoramic sunroof? I believe it's the same fit on all B6 platforms (Superb/Passat). Mine is currently not working - just ‘happened’ out of the blue but it's closed and water-tight. I think it's the interior switch or motor that has packed up. I’ve looked at places to source bits but will look properly when I can afford to have the car off the road for a bit in the summer. A few places/references here that I found might be of help? I’ve not used them though. Good luck with it: https://milautoparts.es/en/auto--carrocera--ventanas--techo-panormico/mod--vw--passat--passat-b6/?attempt=1 https://volkswagen.7zap.com/en/europe/passat-cc-b6-typ-3c-parts-catalog/panorama-sunroof/ https://motoallegro.net/en/z-cat/superb--panoramnaya-krysha/?attempt=1 https://autobutik.com.ua/en/avt--kuzov--stiklo--panoramnij-dah/mod--skoda--superb/?srsltid=AfmBOoqaVtxqeuppGs_RCUx7b5QTr-02p-A5sHdsbyWyyctfMGF8hM0y&attempt=1

Rádió
Welcome Csep, It took 10 seconds to translate your post as below: “Hello! Can anyone in Budapest and the surrounding area help me? The radio thought for a moment today and asked for a reset, unfortunately I couldn't find the code anywhere. I took the radio out but only found this serial number. SKZ6Z7M6148023 has anyone ever had this happen?” Use the translation above and post it in the right thread to get the information you need. colombus sat nav upgrade
Mine is a 2010 car and I’ve updated as much, and as painfully, as I can. My car has the TV option too but now I can’t update the maps further and I’m just wanting to junk the whole thing and replace with a new DIN size unit that will slot in directly and give me Bluetooth, CarPlay, Google maps etc. from my iPhone. Anyone done this? Any suggestions? Thank you in advance, Dave (Wile7)

Skoda Dealers France
Another year and another update (see full post on Skoda Superb Picture thread). Car has just had a DSG box oil and filter service at - wait for it - a Skoda dealer here in France. Fantastic service and cheaper by €200 euro than the nearest ‘specialist’. Car properly cleaned, too. Friendly, efficient and really nice people. If you are travelling through northern France I’d absolutely recommend these guys and girls at Skoda Lemauviel, Avranches (link below). https://share.google/uWVVwVx8WvLhOPoTQ

A few more battle scars but smooth, quick, comfortable and lovely. Just did a Geneva - Perpignan - Toulouse - Normandy run over a week and click clockwork although at the DSG service they discovered a broken front spring which was weird. It's driving fine. So, the next job to sort ASAP. Anyone know a good supplier of KW springs for a 2010 MY 3.6 AWD Superb? I might even revert to standard VAG springs for conformity in the short term…and get the summer 19” wheels back on 🤔🤷♂️ https://share.google/uWVVwVx8WvLhOPoTQ

New wheels
Hi JHJ70, 8J will fit if the offset is adjusted accordingly. From memory you need an ET of 40 with an 8J rim (ET 45 on a 7.5 J rim), otherwise the rim will stick out beyond the bodywork. Plenty of online ‘wheel & tyre’ fitment sites can help you here. 👍

Drivers Seat Issues
I’ve not experienced this but it sounds like it might be a switch issue - pop the switch module/unit out from the side of the seat and unplug/replug the switches from the loom as a start. Also, disconnect and reconnect the main battery can solve many weird issues. Normally a simple fix on weird ‘eletrickery’ things 🤞

aux led lights or light bars
I have the xenon lights on mine (which adjust with cornering too) and they are really good. That said, I’d love to fit a set of Cibies for extra long range like the rally cars of the period. Has anyone done that? Similar to these in the photo.…

fuel gauge issue
I have had the same problem for around 3 years now…not fixed but living with it. If anyone has a fix, do please share 🙏🏻👍🏻

The Superb II & FL Picture thread
UPDATE ON MY 3.6 AWD Embrach Estate Hey chaps snd chapesses - just a quick update on my wonderful 3T Superb 3.6 awd Embrach (Swiss) tuned edition. It’s a 2010 car that I bought in Switzerland used in 2014 (I’ve never owned a ‘new’ car, never will…some other mug can suffer the depreciation 😆) so now into ten years of ownership. (and Briskoda maybe? 🤷♂️). Car now resides in France (although I am currently working in Saudi…) with over 200k kms on it and runs like clockwork. FSH and the major maintenance bits can be seen on my threads here. Just had a new set of all season Falken tyres fitted on 17” rims (I have three sets of wheels/tyres now acoss 19/18/17” 🫣😆). Just back to France to see family and nip out in Wile (the Superb). He never disappoints - a fantastic car 👍🏻👌 Be good folks, Dave

Panoramic roof issues
Hi Oblong. I had a similar issue (stopped working but in a closed position). It was the sunroof motor (situated above courtesy light and sunroof open/close panel). Bought a working used unit off eBay and took an hour or so to fit. Job done. Thankfully, actual slider mechanism/chassis frame was not seized….

Update on six years of ownership - 3.6 awd estate
Hi Dave! Apologies for delayed reply 😬🤷♂️ The tuning was by Swiss Skoda dealer Embrach (www.embrach.ch) and was done from new. Sachs shocks and KE springs. K&N filter and some upgraded arb bushes plus a freer flowing manifold exhaust. No chip I don’t think (none for 3.6 I believe) just a remap. Only chip mod you can get is a throttle enhancer (sharper response). I am still saving for a free flow exhaust and that should liberate some bhp. A top end rebuild (cans etc.) abd a modded ecu can get you Passat R36 plus power (320 bhp +). You can also go full Porsche spec (its the sane lump as the Cayenne and early Panameras) which could be a giggle…but expensive!! That would push you towards 360bhp+). I think 🤔🤪😬🤷♂️ Dave

Hello from your newest newbie in Farnborough, UK
Great choice! Looks lovely. Skoda no longer the butt of jokes by a large margin. Better than most audi/vw’s/bmw’s and certainly a brisk, comfortable and reliable car. Enjoy (and hope your wife likes the boot space 😂👍🏻). Dave

Racechip XLR Pedal Box (Throttle amplifier) NOW SOLD
Hi there Bejam. How old is this version of the XLR please? (and would you consider posting to Switzerland possibly?). Many thanks. Dave

Hi everyone, 01222 error came front passenger side air bag crash sensor open or short error is came where is the location of the sensor anybody help me and how can I solve the issue.
I have had this go on mine (airbag light on). As someone has said above, the wiring in the door panel becomes brittle and breaks with age, especially in hot/cold climates’. We get -28C to +28C and it plays havoc on door looms. (within the door and at the point where it goes across the door to the front wing panel). Mine is a 2010 car and loom broke bang on a decade. Happened on my wife's Lupo back in the day too. Its easy to fix (door disassembly aside) as it is a plug in/plug out bit of the loom. Good luck with it.

Skoda superb 3T estate - alloy options
Well, after my post above I have now had to put four summer tyres (goodyears) onto my 17” winter alloys as I discovered one of my 18’s was buckled 😫🙄. So now down in size with decent rubber. To be honest, it drives rather sweetly on the smaller rims and aesthetically it looks okay (car is lowered so that probably helps a bit to fill the arch gaps). Tyres were cheap(er) too as a smaller size….what a pain though. I do want my 19’s back on as soon as I can source a replacement rim (or fix it). They look great.
